Not compatible with lw6 despite the fact it s been out for quite some time This isn t acceptable at all for an app that costs 50 bucks     Update NOW Displeased LD
Operation is clunky at best unacceptable rip off that it doesn t support LW6 after six months Don t waste your money     Pathetic Vegasloser76
When is support for lightwright 6 going to happen I really like this app but currently it s worthless to me until it can become compatible with LW6             LW6 Theatre dude 262467378356
It s been 10 2012 since the last update Resolution for 6s plus integrate focus charts moving light wheel utilities options from lightwright This is a 50 00 app and you guys created it and just gave up         Update please S_s$
Being able to hold my paperwork on stage during a load in or a focus makes my life so much easier I often multitask with this app and the iRFR app and never put my iPhone down during a load in Can t wait for an update to take advantage of the screen resolution of the iPhone 6 Plus I ll wait patiently                 Makes Everything Easier TaylorJNess
The Lightwright app is one of those things were you really want it to be awesome as the full software is for computers but if you use it as a mobile copy of paperwork is does what it should And truly with all the things that the full Lightwright does now you can t expect a small computer chip to handle more info than this does                     Lightwright app works for what it should do Reneezda
LW in your pocket what a swell thing                     No more binders Me too,
Be careful I thought I could use it as a viewer since I don t want a full version of lightwright Nope     Must have lw5 Meg1290
Very helpful tool Has cut my need to print paperwork by 2 3 I would like to be able to add lines from my iPad but I have learned to include a few spares in paperwork only and that seems to suffice                     Great App for designers musescenic
Be careful I didn t read the fine print and ended up buying a 50 app that I can t use Until I spring 500 to get lw5 I m using my work s lw4 and they won t pay for the upgrade this app is completely non functional There appears to be no way to convert lw4 files and you can t create new databases in app     Only works with lw5 Steelkitsune
Apps like this are why I bought an iPad I am a university professor in a small to medium theatre program but where I am typically keeping track of my own paperwork on my designs here at the university This allows me to do that without having to constantly print paperwork or keep a binder with me at all times It allows the designer true mobility Between this and keeping pdf s of plots on the iPad I am never without all the info at my fingertips and the interface is easily navigable to rectify on my office computer after making updates While I understand completely the need to keep out the ability to add rows I wish that there was a way to register the app for those that have purchased a full version of Lightwright 5 This is simple to get around however by simply adding 10 or so unassigned fixtures at the end of the spreadsheet prior to exporting the file to an LWX file I couldn t be happier with my purchase regardless of any drawbacks people may find This is the future of lighting design                     Never need to print my paperwork again almost Ohio designer
For starters I m the ME on a large permanent install show and use my iPad for everything show related This absolutely a great start and can make a lot of things easier no doubt I understand that this is not a full version but a companion to LW5 but there are a few things missing or that need to change in order to make this perfect Work notes this alone would be a key feature I ve emailed Eric and he said this is an upcoming feature and they know it s really useful but they don t have a timeframe in mind yet Focus charts I would kill to be able to bring up the charts for touchups rather than paging through a bible The interface adheres closely to the desktop version I would like something a bit more touch friendly Maybe something closer to how album view is in the music player At the very least when enlarging the text expand the rows so I can see all my info All in all a good product and I hope to see it build to become a great product             A great start eboxhead
LWT is a good start but it s lacking some important features Not being able to add delete worksheet rows is needlessly crippling and without focus charts the real world applications are somewhat limited Even using it as a simple instrument schedule during focus is somewhat cumbersome Changing a light s focused status requires too many taps and the menus come up very slowly So right now it s fine for impressing the crew but I hold out hope that LWT will develop into a serious real world tool             A good start Arrowz
The flexibility and portable nature is nice but since you can not add a row or delete one It seems that I will stick to my spreadsheet and hope the 50 I just spent pays off in the future This limit does not make sense I knew this was not Lightwrite on th iPad and had reduced functionality But really no add delete rows so only PART of the field edtitng can really be done on the iPad Fix that and this is a useful tool Leave that limit in place and this is a waste of 50 00 UPDATE I am a LW user however as the electrician I find the full edit ability of the spreadsheets easier to use to communicate ALL changes to the LD to be an easier method than keeping a separate cut add sheet Less likely to make mistakes in my opinion     Kind of diapointing Tech24073
I am a USA829 Lighting Designer and I have used this with several shows It has eliminated the need to carry around a binder full of paperwork And I can access info faster than using paper With this and a pdf of the plot on my iPad I can easily carry and access all info of the design with me all over the theatre and no need for a flashlight either The view and sort histories make navigating painless and quick In fact the robust search and navigation features work flawlessly and mimic the feel of LW5 The ability to have quick access to multiple shows makes it simple to answer questions from calling electricians Most of my work is done without an assistant and this product has made it easier to keep information current keep track of fixture focus and in general enhanced and sped up my ability to do my job in a fast paced high expectation environment I would like to address a comment from a previous review Kind of diappointing sic The reviewer correctly notes that you cannot add or delete a row Please bear in mind that Lightwright Touch is described as a mobile viewer that allows editing of Lightwright 5 LW5 file data It is not intended to be Lightwright 5 You can edit data in cells of existing files that have been exported from LW5 Any edits can be imported back into the source LW5 file The ability to add and delete rows would in essence make this an iPad version of LW5 for about 1 11th the cost of LW5 The reviewer goes on to state that they will stick to my spreadsheet and hope This tells me that they are not using LW5 and were hoping to get it a fraction of the cost I don t think Mr McKernon creator of LW5 would be too happy about this Accolades to West Side Systems for their integrity with this choice Still we all know that we do add fixtures during tech I use the Row Note feature in LWT to document this until I reconcile back into LW5 Is this perfect No Is it an acceptable price to pay for the convenience of carrying an iPad version of my LW5 file Absolutely If you have made the investment in LW5 and you have an iPad I cannot imagine anyone who will be disappointed with this product I can also say based on my history in using other products by West Side Systems that the developer is very amenable to feedback feature suggestions and prompt to respond accordingly I will echo what the first reviewer said Portable and Flexible This is why I bought an iPad This is also why I bought this app and am extremely glad I did                     Wonderful time saving tool Grady S.
