Explore the world of Conway`s Game of Life First devised by the mathematician John Conway in 1970, this deceptively simple 2D grid generates fascinating patterns. Drag your finger across the screen to bring Life to life Watch the ...
The ability to change the display colors set your own rules recordreplay sessions would put this over the top But as it stands this is a great time killer very zen in a way              Really nice
Very nice The rules are encapsulated by the notation aaabbb where each b is the number of live neighbors a cell needs to be born and each a is the number of neighbors a cell needs to stay alive in the next generation For instance 233 means a cell is born if it has three live neighbors and stays alive if it has two or three live neighbors It would be nice if we could enter our own rules                 Fascinating
I am highly impressed with this game of life It looks spectacular and one of my favorite features which is failed to be mentioned in the description it completely supports multitouch when drawing cells The big collection of various rulesets is also a great addition If I could give it a 45 I would Its almost perfect It would be nice to be able to configure the colors and fadeout duration and be able to input your own ruleset There also needs to be a way to zoom into the simulation to make it easier to input single cells Currently the behavior is a little sporadic as to how many cells are drawn in a single tap without moving your finger Otherwise great app              amazingly entertaining life game
This Life sim is useless for anything other than scribbles There is no way to select less than 4 cells at a time due to the size of the cells vs the size of your finger This means you can only draw a simple blinker or glider by accident not design Not that this matters as you cannot stop the sim to draw The cells continue to grow or die regardless of your actions Even if you could draw a blinker it would likely be incomplete by the time the next generation came around ruining any work you had put in so far Suggestions to the devs Multi touch is much needed pinchzoom could fix the cell selection issue A simple startstop button     No features or precision
This is hands down my favorite app Koi Pond is a close second but the simplicity and the excellence in the mathematics as well as the beautiful exhbition are providing me hours of amusement                 Gorgeous
It can be visually entertaining but there is no explanation whatsoever on the rules governing the various options You cant plot out the cells that you want to create all you can do is swipe your finger on the screen generally creating HUGE cell colonies that just do whatever When I was a kid we had an Apple iie and I made a Life program in Basic That one was better than this The one good thing is that the field is huge most Life programs are restricted to fewer squares But the inability to micromanage the placement of cells turns that into another negative 0 stars                 Worst version of Life ever
The program implements a lot of different variations of the basic life rule and these can be fun to explore But as an earlier reviewer noted its badly in need of some new ways to start things off In addition to being able to freeze the system and draw some starting pixels it would also be nice to have an option for a random start perhaps with a userselectable probability of initial activation A library of interesting figures discovered by others would also be nice Still the program is cleanly implemented and not junked up with a lot of confusing graphical oddities like some of the competition It can be mesmerizing simply to watch it           good but lacking some features
this app probably has the best representation of differing rulesets so kudos for that however the graphics are confusing the blue cells are apparently dying but they hang around so long it is difficult to follow what is going on suggest some settings to vary color decay time           mixed bag
Great CA app itd be awesome if we could define rules or if we could have two colors of cells              Awesome app
This app is very interesting pretty cool to watch But Im wondering why doesnt it have colors I downloaded this thinking I would see colors showing the life growing But its just little white lines forming cubes Its still very interesting but I feel that I was either mislead by the pictures or theres something I need to do to get it like that but I dont know what Three stars for now but I would like colored simulated life Edit well I dont know what happened but my life is now blue and red And it looks very good So I have changed the rating                 Interesting
I love this app Whenever I am bored which is usually when Im supposed to be doing homework I get on this app and try out different settings and see what they look like                 Great app especially if youre bored
similar in principal to the other game of life simulator but much more asteticly pleasing A very nice app although admittedly not really a game for those who are not familiar with the rules and concepts of this simulator                 Visually pleasing
This is by far the most visually appealing and in certain respects the most flexible of the many iPhone implementations of mathematician John Conways ingenious algorithm for simulating the development of communities of living cells Prior to my chance encounter with this game I had known nothing of this quite highly developed programming genre There appears to be a community of life gamers and sophisticated applications of Game of Life principles are available on every imaginable computer platform See for example Golly on the Mac OS Having begun to explore this little universe with considerable enjoyment and finding this particular implementation so convenient and so visually imaginative I must join other reviewers in their wishes for a more powerfully interactive interface zoom for greater accuracy in placement of starter cells step mode for deeper understanding of the algorithms operation and parameter editing so that one can experiment with ones own forms of life and add interesting results to the already considerable but uneditable library Bravo to the creators of this app and may they develop it further              More Than Meets the Eye
This app is fun even though I dont understand it it is fun and relaxing to watch                 Fun
