I bought this app and often when I try to use it it diverts me to a commercial where I am encourage to join Cantonese 101 some other product of theres I can neither join up nor decline and there is no way to exit this page This makes access to the software I paid for difficult Dont buy this app until they fix this glitch If I could get my money back I would Otherwise this app is the most useful Cantonese app for relative beginners Annoying Commercial
The vocabulary in this app is mandarin with Cantonese pronunciation not authentic casual Cantonese口语 If you want to study how to speak fluent Cantonese this is NOT the app for you If you want to learn how to pronounce formal Chinese 书面语 in Cantonese for singing cantonese pop songs for instance then this is adequate if a little overpriced Dont buy
Why is it not all Cantonese For example the Cantonese word for they is not ta men which is Mandarin The word in Cantonese is kuei day If its Cantonese and there are slightly different dialects of Cantonese its not your common Hong Kong Cantonese which is the useful one if your going to learn Cantonese Its not all cantonese
I tried almost every cantonese app and there are few mostly bad ones So happy this one is decent At first I was hesitant to buy this app for 10 because the older reviews were bad and their other apps I tried werent good But when I tried the demo it was the voice of the girl from cantonese 101 who is a native hong konger This app is made by the same site as cantonese 101 which is a pretty decent site to learn from Theyve definitely fixed the previous issues reported now has great pronunciation hong kong cantonese Why I like it has romanization Jyutping has a native speaker yes has example sentences has a good amount of words 1500 Why I dont like it Sentences are written Chinese very formal not spoken Cantonese Finally a decent cantonese app
Dont bother downloading this I wasted my money The concept is good but it defeats the purpose when you have a native english speaker teaching cantonese His Cantonese pronounciation was way off Wonder if they ever tested it before they requested 999 Waste of Money
