I contacted Seagate tech support today to ask for some help with this media app and my Lacie Fuel 1 TB Wireless drive I was lucky enough to have a gentleman named Jeff take my call and Jeff provided me the best customer service tech support that you can hope for when it comes to making a decision as to which brand or which item or which device to purchase this should be a large contributing factor to your decision making process first of all I am extremely happy that my call went to a Seagate call center in Oklahoma City Oklahoma and not a call center in the Philippines India Costa Rica or any other foreign nation Companies like Seagate need to do more to provide jobs to hard working well meaning productive citizens of this great country like Jeff all other tech companies out there should take notice of Seagate s customer service tech support policies and structuring I am extremely happy now with Seagate even though I own multiple Seagate products because before my experience today they are most of the time the best most logical choice available at my time of purchase And believe me when I buy anything particularly anything tech related like a new hard drive anything like that I do lots of research and lots of comparative shopping online before I make my purchase And Seagate a large portion or the majority of the time is the choice that I make and that was before my experience with gentleman Jeff today Again if you value the things that I have mentioned in this review you will choose to make Seagate and they re offshoot brands your choice when shopping for new devices and hardware there is only one small factor why I did not give this review five stars It received four stars because of the Lacie media app Lacie media app still needs some work it recognized my photo folder on my iPad Pro and auto uploaded all my photos to Lacie Fuel Wireless Drive but it did not and will not recognize my music folder Which means I will manually connect the wireless drive to my PC and copy my music folder onto the Lacie Fuel Wireless Drive This is a small chore that I am used to having to do in the past anyway so it s not a huge deal but it would be nice if the firmware and Media App would recognize my music folder regardless of the location on the iPad Pro and auto upload it without me having to do anything Of course that would be the ultimate results so there s a little bit of work that needs to be done there But that takes a huge backseat to my experience with Seagate today and my buddy Jeff at the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Seagate call center Again thank you very much Jeff you re a great guy A great representative for the Seagate company and I appreciate you and your employer Thank you very much                 ideal company all others should strive to be like metallikat1971

There are a couple cool things this does multiple streaming is great the capacity is nice too But and it is a big BUT The app to use the hard drive is lame Seriously it has an old 90 s look and feel You can t see thumbnails of your videos It makes searching uploaded videos hard and cumbersome Seriously the Hard drive is not worth it because of this lame app         Super Clunky operating system I am PePe too

Don t listen to the negative reviews Just got the drive yesterday the firmware updated automatically and running solid Just wish the Database would update quicker when adding and deleting files After it updates you re good 5 stars if it s fixed                 Great Ricker999

Why have a 2TB WiFi drive for streaming media to an iPhone when the app cannot 1 maintain a solid connection to the LaCie Fuel drive in the presence of other networks or 2 index and access the large number of media files that such a drive can hold Do not buy the LaCie Fuel You will be sorely disappointed     Useless sallenmd87

I would give it one star except for the wonderful media player apps in the App Store that work fairly well with my LaCie Fuel The LaCie app is useful for updating my LaCie Fuel firmware and shutting down the Fuel remotely from my iPad or iPhone Unfortunately this is a multi step process If LaCie would update the app to visually keep track of play positions and video play history Well then it would deserve at least 5 stars I don t think apple wants to allow iTunes movies to stream from a 3rd party device to play iTunes movies             Needs Some TLC akarp

Like the other reviewers I m having trouble getting my iTunes media OFF my iPhone I haven t even tried movies yet I have a pile of purchased and downloaded music So far it won t budge off my phone My copious photo collection flew from my phone to the hard drive in a flash as did Drop Box It seems we have to lug our music around in our phone or pay Apple to manage it The issue with iTunes movies doesn t irk me so much I m not bothered about keeping them in the Cloud I watch them at home exclusively over wi if Apple owes a lot to music iPod owners people who live with earbuds stuck in their head 24 7 There s nothing wrong with the app or the product Good stuff And I am EVER HOPEFUL that Apple will think it over I believe they could make this app fly at the drop of a hat Music lovers aren t keen on being a captive audience             3 Stars Means Hopeful Magpie Queen

i would really expect better design and functionality from lacie the fuel drive is beautiful and its a great idea but the app itself is painful both in design and functionality which ruins the whole experience they really need to do a better job folder and media icons are terrible the player is ugly and impractical everything needs to be pressed 3 times to work and why do i need to see all the bin and log files how is that helping a clean interface and organization of a 2TB drive theres such an abundance of beautifully designed apps out there that its schocking that a company like lacie cant hire someone to make a nice practical interface and they actually pride themselves in catering to the mac apple crowd that chooses these products because of their design disappointed this app is a deal breaker     hideous Elektrius

I almost never post negative reviews I bought a 2tb Fuel to backup my iPad and iPhone and have movies ready to play on flights They claim you can effortlessly move files There is nothing effortless about this app I was able to move files while connected to my computer But the point is wireless with your mobile device Does not work at all Total waste Stay away until this app is fixed     Total crap Albanydoc

Even as a 25 yr IT guy it s a bit hard maneuvering from various platforms to this device It s also a bit unstable a can be DoSed with big copies When working it s nice and as advertised but no one is giving this to there parents as a useful device it would be viewed as crap Beware             A bit to finicky for a consumer product Bluesuumer

While the sorting options for TV seasons never seem to quite give the result I d like I think some more work is needed there this does its job well It s great having my whole music library and a good amount of video with me when traveling I d like better integration for copy protected DRM files but perhaps that s an iOS 7 limitation                 Works well Anton Rang
