It weighs in at only 16.9 MB to download. The new Kingston MobileLite app version 2.0.0.37 has been updated on 2014-11-19. The Apple Store includes a very useful feature that will check if your device and iOS version are both compatible with the app. Most iPhone and iPad are compatible. I am using this app to transfer WAV files as samples into a hardware audio sampler Moving single files is easy but trying to move whole folders of samples is a royal pain Hope somebody updates this steaming pile soon             Great when it works pain in the butt mostly TreeOfGaia108

Update 1 25 17 Updating an iPhone to iOS 10 2 or 10 2 1 renders the capability to email from the app inoperable If you don t need this feature then you ll never notice it I talked with Kingston They no longer support this so don t expect any firmware updates Time to move on to the G3 Received my G2 in early 2015 as a gift While I don t use it often as a charging device it will suffice for about 1 1 2 charges for my iPhone SE Have enjoyed the photo and video transfer capabilities with a little clunkiness at times I like to store music in the offline folder and then Bluetooth it to my car stereo Overall a handy device that frees up space on my phone                 Great Accessory Hobby Guy

There have been improvements made over the past but now it has gotten quite bad One of the biggest problems is that it is completely incompatible with the iPad Pro 12 9 My brother has a 9 7 iPad Pro and he says it does not work with that either But I will let him write that review Again you pay quite a bit of money for the hardware you expect them to keep up with the operating system and hardware changes or clearly state somewhere that WE WILL NOT SUPPORT NEW HARDWARE AFTER date Then we can accurately decide where to spend our money         Kingston should be embarressed CJBPM

I use it It works mostly But the interface is horible Their new app is better but doesn t work with the G2 I gave that a 2 Giving this one a 2 because like all poor development you cant just use your thumb the presentation is awful and its slow Unfortunetly if you have the G2 you are stuck with it I like what the G2 does though I offloaded 6gb of pics that I need to save without throwing more money to apple cloud I know I need those pics but dont need them for a few more years this is a great solution         developer department needs new boss panda dadda

The device is incredible The app should have a display by date a way to import what hasn t been imported to that device So multiple devices can get just what hasn t been downloaded It is Pretty fantastic app though Efficient don t change that Fast Easy to use If it doesn t work in app at first reinstall firmware                     Device is impeccable App is almost as good BLighthouseKpr

I would have given one more star if the developers had a more recent release Going back to 8 15 for the latest release when we re already near the end of October tells me the developers aren t trying hard enough to fix the issues this app and the device that goes with it definitely have Why can t I stream videos to my iPAD Mini without it stopping and starting every 30 seconds or 2 minutes if I m lucky Whenever I stream video from my PBS app I never have issues I also have a Seagate Media app that works flawlessly along with the GoFlex device it works with I wanted to give this app device a try because it s a great idea to be able to plug in SD cards USB drives as external storage It gives users much more flexibility Unfortunately the execution of this idea didn t work out so well What s weird is that it works much better with my new ipod touch not perfectly but workable So maybe they programmed this to work with only newer devices I don t know If the developers ever read their reviews PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP         It could be great if only tezzybear

As storage it works fine For steaming videos it does not work at all Videos streaming to only one device constantly pause for the stream to catch up Stream to multiple devices and it gets even worse Kingston advertises that this with the MobileLite wireless G2 can stream multiple videos to multiple devices simultaneously It can t even do it successfully to one device I will be returning this product     Does not work as advertised PepperJon

Fantastic concept I love being able to have accessible data from SD cards and flash drives but the execution leaves something to be desired The app doesn t process other video formats avi etc and the speed between device and storage is sluggish too slow to really stream I pick the stuff I want to watch well in advance and move it to the offline files Even that takes a very long time If they can play all video formats and kick the data rate up by 1000 I will give this 5 stars             Great idea could use some fixes Bain1080

I never go on a trip without this application and the associated accessory It does so much with the ability to access SD and USB drives at the top of the list I ve also used it to numerous times to create my own hotspots and having a backup battery is always welcome                     So Useful Ed The iPad Fan

I just got back from a trip where i used this to back up my photos from my DSLR I backed up the files to two different hard drives each time It was slow but worked It wasn t until i got home that i discovered a few photos had not transferred Granted it was around 5 10 maybe out of about 4 000 but it was still stuff I would never get back The biggest problem with the software is that it doesn t tell you how many files are in a folder so when you try to verify that everything is there there s no good way to do it You have to guess based on the last file in the folder and hope everything else got through Aside from that it worked nicely and pretty reliably With some updates it could be really solid             Good but app still needs work RobLa12345

I heavily use this app to play videos along with their subtitles srt files It works very smoothly with UTF 8 files but not ANSI encoding Please add support for this encoding Also the app sometimes turn off suddenly with no reason And when turning it on it will work as power bank until I remove the USB flash hard drive and power it on again                 The best and only subtitle supported player AhmedAbdullah

The setup overall is great I m using it to dump photos via SD card onto my iPhone for viewing sorting That s were I have issues It is very tedious when I m sorting through 5 10k photos at a time I m only keeping 100 200 of them Trying to view each picture then manually delete each one as you go are you sure you want to delete Or writing down the number of each and selecting the keepers later A suggested fix would be to have a virtual stack of photos Then preselect up to 4 different destination folders You then swipe up down left right to put them in different folders as you go through the stack Overall a great product and good app it could just be more user friendly             Great concept overall app is the weak link BigAllllllllllll

If you could add share extension to the voice memo app it would be the best way to transfer my records I use this app frequently but I m having big issues with transfering them to my computer there is no other apps that have such extension I wonder why since it s supported in iOS 8 anyway please add this feature and you ll app will become the best app in the appstore to me                 This app is almost perfect Suhaib Al Najjar

Well Kingston sure killed a great product with this update v 4 0 1 1 My MobileLite no longer recognizes the sd card won t stay connected via WiFi and won t pass through WiFi network THANK YOU to the user who got the IP address 192 168 200 254 using Safari I can at least connect to the sd card and see the contents Safari will also play the videos and music from the card but the overall WiFi issues still persist Since half of these reviews love the update and I am in the half that hate it hopefully Kingston will figure out the situation I must say the MobileLite is a good product when it works right Almost worthless when it doesn t     Completely unusable since update v4 0 1 1 REMEMBER 192 168 200 254 RedGeckoOne

The redesigned file view only displays large icons and small icons The list view with a file name on each line is not there anymore So it is very difficult to identify multiple files with similar large file names since only the beginning and ending parts of the names are displayed Fortunately I was able to restore the old version from my PC and I love it         Difficult to view large file names Toprani

Before the update everything was great and worked fine But after this update i go into the app and it says mobile lite isn t connected but in my wifi it shows that I m connected but still says I m not connected in the app Please fix this so i can back up my GoPro footage to a external hard drive and not have to bring a laptop with me everywhere i go     Bad update Zack3636

This update fixes a lot of problems with the previous version and makes the whole hardware unit and user experience much better The first thing I noticed was the UI is refreshed and the icons are a lot more intuitive Flipping between photos on an SD card is also very smooth and responsive Files can be easily sent to other apps I had no problems sending a PDF from an email file attachment to the drive and save it to SD                     Latest update was really good Shadrack33

I use this primarily to back up photos from SD cards to USB hard drives In version 3 this was functional but a little awkward For example there was no way to select all items in a folder which made it difficult to move things around in general Happily version 4 finally adds a Select All button Unfortunately there are a few painful regressions and unresolved limitations One being that if you copy files into a folder that already contains some of them you ll be prompted to overwrite or skip for every single file individually No skip all duplicates option So basically impossible to do for thousands of photos unless you just tell it to pointlessly overwrite all of them You also can t cancel the copy the Cancel button dismisses the dialog only to bring it right back again immediately Endlessly You have to force quit the app to get it to stop Also previously you could see the progress of your copy as a tiny progress bar Now no indicators at all It appears to copy files in alphabetical order of file name so you can watch the destination directory refreshing periodically until you see the last file appear But I don t know if that can really be relied upon Ultimately what I really want is a one button one way sync option just make sure every file on my SD card is somewhere on the USB drive optionally comparing by contents not just filename for duplicates With a progress dialog and or a notification when it s done             Improved in version 4 but with regressions Wade Tregaskis

Like I mentioned in my last review the device is now unable to read certain folders off my SD card I spoke with Mobilelite and they provided me with a great solution Instead of using the app you can use Safari to read all your files Simply navigate to 192 168 200 254 in the browser while connected to the device and voila All the folders that were missing are now there Not a permanent solution for me since the app is quicker but at least I can now see the files             Helpful knowledge 192 168 200 254 Levinator25

My original review was in 2 2014 which was instructions on how to get version 2 4 0 6 back if you had not yet synced with your computer since version 3 0 was a completely unusable 3 0 took a few minutes just to load the list of files on the screen Subsequent updates throughout 2014 did not fix the problem However with the new 4 0 1 1 posed 4 10 2015 all of this has been fixed The file list of mp3 mp4 mov from the SD card and USB drive all load and play instantly The Kingston Digital 5 in 1 Mobile Companion is finally worth buying again                     4 0 1 1 fixes all problems since 3 0 N.Sputnik

The app can change the auto shutdown time of the MLWG2 from off to a set of times 30 min 5 hours It can t switch back to off tho with iOS Also it shouldn t switch off while in use It should switch off only after 30 mins of disuse The first issue should be an easy sw fix The second may require firmware or not be doable Anyway I can probably reset back to factory and just leave time in off position Great device tho Suspect it works better on other OSs                 Device is great App has an issue I P Freiley

I was really happy after getting it connected with my 1TG HD what a surprise But after the 2nd day I found it can only transfer 110 photos from my iPhone to its local my SD card and then freeze the UI forever Even worse from time to time it refuses to fire up its WiFi for a while and the nightmares are the following it crashes when I watch local copied videos using fast forward backward I think the only useful functionality of this product currently is that you could make copies locally inside this device storage and then you can open files locally without worrying about wireless connectivity But I can only transfer up to 900MB video file to device local why because if transferring time exceeds 10 mins or about 1GB in file size the App crashes It crashes every 15min or earlier when I playback mp4 videos via wireless connection on both iOS7 and iOS devices which I installed the App It crashes even without any video stream or file transfer without any user activities at all At one time it even freeze the iPad home button and changed my iPad background picture into 100 black which scared me to death What the hell Despite the courtesy from their Customer Service staff I still have to say this App is the worst I have ever seen as a formal released product I will complain it to Appstore it make this hardware almost useless if your main goal is to view high quality videos in iPhone or iPad     Kingston should hire some competent App developers JQLAXHW

Simply put great app once they workout the minor kinks it ll be a superb app feature request would you add Airplay to server webpage even if just had a barebones media player in html5 w playlist for audio n video from the folders on the drives would be great Just found out the airplay feature is just a simple code to add to the index html file either you place the code into media player for the server mode Asking because I use it stream to my Wii U web browser since the wii u is lacking a media player as of yet Thanks in advance if I knew how to code program I would gladly share it with you for free                 Enigmatiqah ShreePointProSpective
