Iris by Lowe’s

I have nothing but good things to say of the Iris system This app for the iPhone is very bad It wont work with touch id and every time dont want to log in and click cancel i then need to relog in with my UN and PW which is super annoying especially if you forget them and then it locks you out totally I really dont understand since the iPad app seems to work well        Love the product hate the app

The app is free and yet not compatible with family share Now my wife cannot download or update the app to control Iris Once one person downloads the app nobody else in a family share account will be able to Also the app is extremely slow It seems like the developers could have put a little bit more effort in        Disappointed

New app version is buggy The cool to does not reflect the same setting in the house for example I have the temp set to 74 when I open the app it says 75 This app also needs to be able to turn on the fan on the ac unit You can do it manually on the thermostat but why not on the app Love my iris easy to setup myself and I like turning on and off lights remotely I also have a water leak sensor motion sensors and more Great buy and the app is easy to use I would love to see better ios cameras more like foscam product that turns 360 and has zoom I use that for all my camera since Lowes campers dont move              Iris

The concept of the Iris system is not bad but the automated rules magic is quite lame What annoys me is they have built a lot of default rules you have to choose from and most of them I will never use I hope the Iris product development team is reading this What I really need is an advanced section of magic that lets me define what I want it to do Quit trying to guess at what I want If I want my ceiling fan to turn on when my dog goes through the dog door let me define that Because of this weakness I only use the free subscription I would pay the 10month if I had more control over the automation Right now I upgrade to premium when I go on vacation so I can have lights turn on at certain times When I get back from vacation I switch back to the free subscription I have wanted to buy other accessories but have not because the automation is so limited Until they make the automation more advanced I would not recommend anyone buy this The logo and web interface is also not inspiring Very dated looking        Automated rules is the weak spot

Pros Clean display Easy to use Cons Cannot access most settings from the app My biggest complaint about Iris isnt the app its the indoor camera The indoor camera has an external speaker and a micro sd slot However neither are useable For 130 you would think that it would at least have a microphone so you could hear what is going on in the house           Its ok

App is terribly slow to do minor tasks like dim a light Features pale in comparison to other smart home systems and to top it off there is a monthly fee to set things like a simple timer     So slow monthly fee for basic features

My thermostat is permanently locked in the presence status after using this app Any attempt to change it locks up both my iPad and my iPhone I shudder to think what unseen problems exist especially with the home security devices This app needs a serious revamp Until then I will have to use the clunky web interface My adviceavoid this app like the plague     Cant change thermostat statuslocks up iOS devices

The entire app is janky and clunky Why arent there push notifications instead of SMS notifications        Clunky and slow

Everything is working perfectly for me between the system and the app and I love that lowes keeps making improvements In the future I would like to see comparability with apples home kit                 Love the iris system

This app is slow and clunky Status updates are very slow the application doesnt always reflect current statuses on the homepage almost always requiring you to dig into the widgets Remotely controlling Iris components is also painfully slow turning on a light can take 30 to 45 seconds Touch ID has been implemented but the implementation is poor If you accidentally hit cancel you have to manually sign into the app again     Clunky slow

1 scroll menus dont work ie the thermostat has options of schedule hold etc but you cant select any of them 2 systems sends repeated locking instructions to my quickset lock works fine with key pad 3 slow     Not good at all

It is seriously time to optimize for iPhone 6 its been 12 months so now you either dont care about user experience or you are lazy Hurry up     Hurry up Optimize for 6 Laziness is tardiness

Ive had no issues with this app after daily use for over a month I check alarm status set and turn off alarm check sensor status etc One thing to note I do not keep apps open all day because they may not get refreshed data and this app no different Close the app after each use and open as needed                 Works Great

SOOOOOOOOOO SLOW cant get into control I can walk over and turn things on and off way faster half the time things dont turn on or off I have 2 repeaters 50mb internet running around 4550 Mbps average latest iPhone with app installed even the iris portal is SLOW kinda getting tired of how long it takes for anything to work Id suggest looking elsewhere if your looking for home automation     SLOW SLOW SLOW

Dont plan on using iPhone to control alarm system App doesnt work since update     May 2015 update crashed app

App works great and system overall works great I have the door sensors motion sensors and garage door opener All work great with the app                 Works great

The app is slow Horribly slow It always requires logging back in after an update You cannot reorder the controls in the list Voice recognition was a waste of time and code because it doesnt work for most controls unless you label them in a very specific manner Password reset is unavailable inside the app     Barely better than useless

Update 526 I now have light switches outlets door sensors window sensors motion detectors door locks water detectors smoke detectors water shut off valve as well as the out door plug Everything works fine in the app still Very pleased with the system for the last two years Great job I think the bad reviews must be from ADT employees I have only used the system for a few months and the app works exactly as described I can arm and disarm the alarm check the history and operate my smart plugsoutdoor outlet Thermostat works perfect Door lock disconnects once in a while but its improving Update with additional light switch in the same room as door lock it no longer disconnects With recent update to software opening app is lightning fast compared to the old version great job                 Whats with all the complaints

Please add notifications it would really help so I dont always have to check when my son or wife have turned on the alarm        Please add notifications

The other reviews look to me like people who expect a personal security team from a 999 system I travel all week almost every week I can view my cameras set the temperature and arm the alarm with a few taps Good enough for me                 Good app

Commands and queries take way too long Status updates often dont refresh and are incorrectly reported My hub is hooked to 1Gbps internet No excuse Additionally Im tired of being forced to repeatedly login to the app when I wake up my phone and dont want to go back into the Iris app and select cancel I have mine set up to require Touch ID or passcode Logouts should only be occurring when I select to logout On that note in typical Iris fashion the logout is disorganized and in an odd place Buttons should be a bit bigger and user should have the ability to prioritize and organize Having to scroll through controls to find my most commonly used is a hassle and once again counter intuitive My life isnt organized alphabetically people So much potential in both the app and system as a whole yet it is so far away from reaching it        Lost potential

smart switch should have a sett able timer for how long you want the device on or off also the sensors with temperature should have that data available on a single page with each sensors temperature an example is I would use a IR sensor in our babys room so if theres motion itd wake us by turning on our light we if the sensors temp data was available easily it would tell us if the baby is warm or cold I know that we can see the data now in the device settings at lowescomiris now but that takes too long              timer options

My Iris system is great It takes a little time to begin to understand it and its capabilities but once you dig in the possibilities are endless                 Love my Iris System

Dont download this Does not work and when it does its really slow and the update screen will not stop popping up every time I load even if I check the box to stop showing it WASTE OF SPACE     Dont do it

I feel so empowered with Iris the app allows you to control almost all functions of your Iris The ability to control so many devices anywhere there is internet connection is extremely convenient I have had some minor issues with pairing but with a call to Iris customer support that is US based solved the issues These individuals are extremely friendly very helpful For others who may have connectivity issues may have weaker wifi Im thoroughly satisfied with the system and Iris offers the most products available on the market currently now                 I love my Iris System

I cant understand the reviewers and the complaining The system and the app work perfectly I have never had a problem The system was easy to setup and the app works flawlessly I keep adding gadgets all the time and they work fine as well I work various hours so I cant set my coffee pot to turn on at the same time each day So I connected a smart plug to the system and I turn my coffee pot on when I wake up Easy No fails I recommend the system and app                 A wonderful system

This app is killing me In addition to its amateurish interface quirkiness and bugs now it has started randomly logging me out Even though I have an iPhone 6 with fingerprint sensor it regularly requires me to login manually Then it complains that I have logged in too many times and locks me out This offer is an extremely frustrating at user experience     Amateur App

The App is ridiculously too slow to start up and too slow to execute any commands This lack of development essentially brings the entire platform down and makes an otherwise good system unusable Whats worse is there have been little to no app updates to help solve any of the user issues mentioned in these reviews or across the general forums found online     App is ridiculously too slow

This is a good app I love my Iris system and doing it from my phone makes it a even better system              Good app

Even though I have TouchID enabled on my iPhone 6 it still asks me to type in my password sometimes not related to restarting my phone just inconsistently decide to ask for password instead of accepting Touch The camera loads really slowly sometimes not at all The phone has been connected to my home wifi 4G and other wifi networks and it still wont load You tap the camera to watch and its just a frozen screen with the progress circle in the middle making it appear as if its loading But it never loads No use in having a camera if we cant access it to view it     Glitchy

I like how when logging in now the app refreshes before letting you in as this now shows accurate information on the home screen of the different things such as the status of the alarm and so forth For me things seem to load faster but the annoying Orange banner Sending Changes please dont exit still hangs around for about another 10 seconds after I turn a light on for example I really hope that can be improved at some point           Better but not perfect

App works a lot better then it used to most issues have been resolved but it would be really nice if app preferences transferred between updates like most other apps keeping username and password and rest of the preferences so it didnt have to be reentered after every frequently released app update Also would be really nice to have all the same functionality from the website added to the app like to be able to manage devices and see cellular signal strength and see cellular data usage from website and app              App Suggestions

I love my IRIS system it works flawlessly I really wish the app would alert you when the alarm is activated by sounding a siren or something through notifications instead of just having to use phone calls or text messages Thanks              Love the system app could use a little work

Had the trial and everything worked fine Was getting updates on any doors opened and any alarms I couldnt figure out if there was a way to rename the sensors so there was no guessing which sensor triggered an alarm If there is an alarm triggered I get a call from iris and a text but I wish the app would sound as well Make sure you write your log in info down because once you update the app it will be lost No app for iPad such a shame        Basic

Every time the app updates it resets my shortcuts at the bottom Less of that more iPhone 6 support App features and design beginning to feel a bit stale and clunky     Quit resetting my shortcuts

I have a 6 and this update does not work I get a screen that continually refreshes saying changing hub Its maddening I cant use my phone to work the system The issue eventually resolved itself and worked for a few weeks just fine Now for the last 2 weeks it crashes every time I try to launch the app This was prior to the release of the latest iOS update     Doesnt work

1 iPhone 6 6plus native resolution 2 Make it launchable so I can put it on my today screen using Launcher app Thats it 2 easy things to make it look like a 1 million dollar app Now lets see if the program manager approves these 2 items that should take no more than 8 hours of work Thanks           Do the right thing

Calling tech support is useless on issues History on alarm trigger times on app are wrong or do not even show up Using app to shut off alarm sometimes works Like checking alarm status and always shows hub not connected Double sticky tape used for sensors and door triggers do not stick sensors are always falling down causing alarm to go off Alarm system does not tell you when a sensor has fallen down when you arm the system So pretty much you can still arm the system and not know that the back door sensor has come unattached due to adhesive strips that do not stick Can not use with free texting service such as TextNow     Horrible
