I love it Better than any other Nethack port and not just by a little It might take a minute to get the hang of the controls but that s because the port is so much more complete than others Awesome game Thank you Btw the developer should consider doing slash em too I d definitely pay for that There used to be a good one on the app store but it disappeared and the old app is incompatible with the new IOS so I m sure I m not the only one who s looking for a replacement C mon Best game ever Rogert Theist

On some levels there seems to be a bug where floor tiles don t draw unless my character sees them Floor tiles my character doesn t see don t draw even if my character and I saw them the previous turn s Edit The above is not true to set pieces like Minetown the floor glyphs tiles work fine in the set pieces Good but Is This Music Now?

The game is great and works well in a mobile setting If there was a randomize class button for starting it d be perfect Very good Just a suggestion Donut M. Toazt

If I can make one suggestion though When the game loads and you get the recover save dialog box you can lose your game by accidentally brushing the touchscreen anywhere outside that box I ve lost many promising runs due to this Can you please fix this Playing the heck out of this VurryDisappointed

I have been playing NetHack for a long time now and I really love this iPhone NetHack port This is great when you have a few minutes of downtime and want to keep playing your ongoing adventure It s quite a thrill to finally ascend an adventurer after weeks of play my current goal is to ascend every role I would highly recommend this game to someone who wants a real challenge and doesn t mind the text based display Luigifan18 All of those are available in iNetHack2 You can name your character in Settings Nethack before you start any game You can name your pets by using the abc button to type an uppercase C for the Call command You can spilt stacks when taking things out of a container or when dropping by swiping left on the item you want to spilt Awesome port Raukeen

Works just as well as the original and this one has a better interface in my opinion while allowing you to use keyboard imputs for the less commonly used keys I liked the idea of incorporating settings into the apple settings menu It even includes a whole cast of tilesets to use On top of all that it a a great roguelike to begin with and this game and it s variants can all run on literally any computer or device on the market This game has intense brutal but fair difficulty Better than original Gigabic

This is a solid NetHack app that s easy to use However it seems to be missing some functions and commands most notably the ability to choose a name for your adventurer the ability to name your pets and the ability to choose to partially pick up and set down stacks of items or separate stacks into smaller stacks And that function is really important since it s kinda hard to manage your inventory with the current all or nothing system Still it s a solid NetHack experience that s faithful to the PC original A worthy replacement Well almost Luigifan18

A very good way to introduce oneself to NetHack via diving right in and gaining experience Fairly simple to pick up very difficult to master and easily portable Surprising quality Polaris -w-

I beat the dungeon by going up the staircase in the start Never killed anything prayed a bit three times and then went up the stairs my only option Instantly escaped Game needs a tutorial confused on what to do on my second play though Fastest escape Hey minecraft

I know one of the points of nethack is that you can t save and restore the game but you guys need to put some better code in here to handle switching apps It s pretty damned frustrating to be starting the class quest getting a text message coming back to the app and getting the GD choose a class screen There are enough YASD opportunities built into the game already without adding to them Keeps losing my game Narual

Waited soooo long for this update for Apple with real net hack foibles first played on a Mac 128 k and loved it then got it on Windows but the Mac versions are easier on the eye thanks for caring and sharing Awesome version for iPad EnckeDoo

This is a great port of Nethack for modern devices If you can get past the learning curve of Nethack you will find one of the most entertaining and deep games you will ever play This port plays pretty much the same as the original iNethack port so if youre familiar with that youll feel right at home One thing I would like to see is a dpad option Movement can be imprecise when your character travels to the spot you tap I thought this was a really well done port and Im glad someone took the time to update it for newer versions of iOS Great port of one of the best games ever made

I think I actually prefer this to playing on PC I never expected NetHack to be so well implemented on an iphone DawnHack tiles are absolutely gorgeous Superb

Great port of the game One note If you accidentally leave your keyboard set Japanese and open the inventory the game will crash But it does do gracefully and when reopened will go to a recent save point I presume this happens with other input languages as well Excellent port

Ive spent about a 2 weeks on this and can already tell Ill be playing it for years One thing if you want to change tileset hop into settings You should make this more clear like first time launch have a polyp state settings in setting app Hard but amazing

This version of Nethack for IOS works great Whether youll enjoy it has nothing to do with this port and everything to do with Nethack itself Give it a try or ten and youll be hooked Well done

First off Nethack does not require a review It is a timetested awesome game which feels like it needed to be brought to handheld devices The only qualm I have is that there doesnt seem to be a way to customize the shortcuts that appear on the bottom of the screen The devs picked a pretty good set of commands but classes need to use some of the more than others jump for Knights and twoweapon for samurai It also be nice to relocate a few so I dont need to swipe as much But other than that its a great port This far exceeds expectations for a free nethack port Great Port

I love NetHack Im awful at it but I have a basic understanding of how everything works and enjoy seeing how far I can get I really liked the original port to iOS with touchscreen swipe controls instead of the keyboard but the developers forgot to patch it for iOS 8 so I cant play it on my phone So I got this port I do NOT like the default tileset they chose to throw onto this I recognized it as one of those fanmade sets found in the batch of tilesets they have just in case Honestly the regular ASCII format looks less awkward So I tried changing it only to find that there wasnt a Settings option It turns out that you have to go to the Settings app to change things Which is fine once you figure it out I mean they dont give you ANY hints about how to do anything in the original too so I guess thats okay Great Game Awkward Port

What a game Finally

This is an amazingly well implemented port of one of the greatest games of all time Nethack I love it so much The only thing is I cant figure out how to change tilesets Amazing

Finally a version I like on iOS and rivals many others Menu button gives newbies or forgetful types a hierarchal drill down or can click keyboard for normal play Kb stays open as long as you want it to return hides it again Great interface

The new tileset looks pretty neat too Not bad

Old school so a little confusing at first but overall cool Cool game
