After last update I lost all checklists Uggh     Lost Checklists DanHitch
I have been a birder for over fifty five years and have used many field guides and electronic apps This is a very good app but can be improved with a comparison feature It is very helpful to see two or three similar birds side by side without jumping back and forth Hopefully this feature will be added in the next update                 Very good app Bigbirder46
Use it frequently to find info about birds and to help with IDs it                     My must have for birding ADWOFF
I love this app I use it every time I go out hiking and it s amazing The quality and detail of the pictures the sounds ranges and morphs is amazing I can find any bird with the specific searches and filters and it has helped me countless times This is the best bird watching app around bar none I highly recommend this app to anyone new through highly experienced who goes birdwatching My only request is that they update it for the iPhone X to take full advantage of the larger and redesigned display as it doesn t look as good when letter boxed Thank you guys for such an amazing app                     The best birdwatching app around bar none Void1995
And use it everyday now                     I am a new bird watcher and love this app kathleen taylor
Easy to take with you Love that u can hear the actual bird calls I enjoy that I can finally if Most of the birds I run across                     Great app mspatti
Really love the ibird apps and this one is the best especially the Birds Around Me feature Makes identification quicker and easier                 Great birding app
Excellent app so glad I read the WSJ article on birding and saw it was one of the apps recommended                 Well worth the price
This app is indispensable to me for my field work I cannot always carry around field keys with me The apps function of filtering out birds that might be near me is a great time saver and the bird call function frequently helps me identify the birds I hear only                 Very well constructed
Very disappointed Would like to have my money buck Did not have Mandarin duck in this Ibird Ultimate                 Ultimate bird guid
This app is uniqueit makes carrying a huge volume of information around possible on your smart phone It is extremely well organized thoughtfully designed and very userfriendly For Hawaii residents its the only guide I know of that includes Native Hawaiian species Most field guides limit their coverage to North American species only Its an amazing time technological advance for birding a real game changer                 Outstanding Bird Guide
Best birder app available                 Great app
The features in ultimate seem great But the notes and location that was in iBird Pro did not transfermigrate to ultimate I guess having my notes and sighting locations that Ive gathered over the years is more important to me then BAM and Percivia Too bad I spent the money on the Ultimate upgrade It just didnt upgrade that well FYI all upgraders           Upgraded then downgraded
The best money I spent just love it                 Fantastic app
This has been the easiest birding app Ive used so far                 Its been a great app
I am a total novice but enthusiastic The search protocol is very well thought out The ability to quickly narrow the search by birds around me and the seasons makes ID very manageable even for beginners The visuals photos info etc are first rate and the maps are beautiful There is a bit of a learning curve for mastering the various features but up front tutorials help even the klutziest I have several birding apps and books but I find myself turning to this first Go for it you wont be sorry these guys have put together a first class app              Great app birds around me worth the price of admission
I have several well known applications This is the most comprehensive and the easiest to use              Best yet discovered
I bought iBird PRO when it first came out In fact the reason I bought an iPhone at the time was so that I could have the app I believe it was 2999 at the time and even then I thought it was worth every penny For what you get iBird PRO and iBird Ultimate are the best apps Ive ever used The BAM feature is worth the upgrade to Ultimate                 Worth every penny Worth more
Works well for my area                 Great app
This is a great app It is a great resource for identifying birds and expanding ones knowledge on their habitat behavior and migrating habits                 iBird
I knew nothing about the birds in my back yard but thanks to the filters in this programs search routine I can tell you what the bird is where it nests what it eats sounds like and much more Most expensive app I have ever bought and well worth the price Note Lots of information lots of space                 Great help for the novice
Being a gardener and a bird watcher I would like the information on each bird to include what they normally like to eat              More info please
Ive had the original iBirds Pro for years I recently when it came out updated to Ultimate mostly out of excitement for the BAM feature which I havent been able to use successfully at all It wont use GPS to get my location doesnt even show up under location services list and when I try to manually change it just shoots back Ive also had birds that should show up in my search forests Texas April common uncommon GCWA not show up at all but if I add other seasons December they will show up Im sure this will be fixed with the recent update which Im waiting on the download Hopefully BAM gets fixed too Also I remember previous versions of Pro having way more options under sounds like where Ultimate will offer nothing very few or things that dont occur in this area at all Otherwise I seriously love iBirds and recommend it to everyone Great app                 Love iBirds but still have some bugs
I like this app and am looking forward to keeping track of my backyard birds using the iBird Journal in conjunction with the iBird Ultimate Guide Also looking forward to learning about my backyard birds I have been photographing birds over the summer and am adding them to the iBird app but the app keeps crashing after I upload photos Hoping this gets fixed soon           Like it but keeps crashing
Love the photos and the field mark tips available for each bird                 Excellent app
Pretty complex Requires attention to detail But I am having fun with it and learning a lot about local birds Seems sometimes to be a hitch in search engine Searching for all nearby potential birds sometimes fails to list such common birds as the Mountain Bluebird which I see daily outside my studio window May be user error will continue to test              Non birder loves it
One of the more useful apps Ive tried Great field resource                 Excellent Resource
I use this app exclusively while in the field I can quickly check for songs of birds I see to identify them if I cannot do so by sight I also enjoy that there are photos of the species that I can compare with my own to make sure I have a positive identification                 Great App
A Beautiful app I really really LOVE the soundssinging of the birds Its so relaxing But PLEASE make it available to have the sound to keep playing after the phone goes to sleep mode It stops right when the screen goes dark And also please add a mark in the list on the side of every bird which is in favorites already So we can see which one is in favorites while we scroll down through the main list Please Otherwise your app rocks Very very nice              Pleasure
I used to find myself switching between the Peterson Sibley and eNature apps constantly for difficult to identify birds Since I started using iBird Ultimate I find I hardly ever use the others Its got a topnotch UI and a great database By far the best                 Best Birding App Of All
This app is easy to use makes bird identification simpler and I really like the ability to listen to recorded calls The only negative I have is related to their marketing practices I did not appreciate the discontinuation of ibird south and not receiving any consideration for upgrading to ultimate              Great resource
I am a Preveterinary student taking an ornithology course because I am considering specializing in birds I already had a hard copy field guide But this app is soooo handy I dont have to carry my book around I know I always have my phone on me for unexpected sightings I also have to learn and memorize many many many songs which you cannot listen to from a paper back field guide I also like this app because the information given is more organized under categories Some apps are not as organized I know I will use this app for the rest of my life LOVE IT                 Great for university class
The search engine of iBird Ultimate has allowed me to identify birds which have stumped me Its like having a birding expert with you I cant say enough good things about iBird Ultimate I started with Pro and when this came out I bought it for the Birds Around Me feature which is indispensable It would have been nice to be able to update my Pro version to get this However I understand developers have to put food on the table and dont get wigged out over 20                 Ultimate 722 is Amazing
This is a great app for beginner to advanced birders It is easy to identify birds with and its smooth integration with iBird Journal is wonderful                 Worth the price
annihilatus extinctus Definition technology which ends old ways of doing things All joking aside iBird rocks and IMO is a fantastic example of mobile technology altering the fabric of our world In this case you can clearly see the demise of the printed book particularly old fashion field guides to nature and to birds After using iBird its easy to imagine that someday not too far in the future children will laugh when you tell them there was a time pages didnt sing a birds song pictures didnt have layers of information you could turn on or off and GPS wasnt used to tailor the contents to your location The iBird app does all these things now and I cant say enough about how it opens the world of the bird to anyone with a mild curiosity about what makes them so magical                 Disruptive Tech Here
Great App Everything you need to know about birds                 Good App
You need to find a way to add more than one photo at a time Makes for a very long process if you have multiple pictures of the same bird Otherwise I like the app           My Photo section
I think this is a very nice and helpful app but I gave it three stars because I have a problem with the search feature Im moderately intelligent and an avid birder for only a year or so but I have yet to come up with the actual bird Im looking at I have after many researches come close to a match but not with certainty I upgraded from having two regional iBird versions in the hope of getting a really good search engine Im disappointed Maybe its me but I believe it needs more work Still Im not disappointed that I bought it           Helpful
I had an older version of iBird North Based on the sale I purchased iBird Ultimate The auto locate feature does not work with iPhone 6 When using The Birds around me BAM feature you should be able to press the location icon in the lower left corner of the map and it should autolocate your position on the map Great feature if it actually worked Pressing the icon does nothing I enabled location services for this app in settings but it still does not work It does accept manually entered locations but that is a pain when you are out and about Rest of the app is ok once you figure it out        Location services doesnt work
Great app love to use it on my walks and rambles              Love it
This is the best guide to identifying birds in my areaIm disabled but have many bird feeders outside on my deck also window feedersI have many different birds coming to the feeders now I know what they are thanks to this app and it explains everything so well about the birds thank you so much                 IBIRD Ultimate Guide To BirdsNorth America
Recently upgraded from the pro version But the birds around me function doesnt work with gps on 812 and iPhone 5 A glaring error in an otherwise amazing program           Awesome app Location doesnt work
I love it The search function is easy and the call recordings really help with ID Definitely worth the                 Favorite nature app
Wonderful Im learning new birds and more info on ones I already know Love it                 The best
I use this app all the time I especially like the way that you can toggle field marks on and off in the illustrations There are also a lot of good vo alizarin recordings Two thumbs up                 Great app
An excellent app which is sophisticated enough to include readily accessible instructions throughout I like all the information provided and guided search My most fervent wish for more is in the wonderful but seriously incomplete Sounds feature Please more for each birdthe scrub jays in our Oakland yard have many more calls and songs than are included here The ones it has are so great they have seriously raised my expectations Also fun to play them outside and receive answers from the residents              Best Ive Used
This is a fantastic app that I rely on Have been a longterm user This app is the hallmark of birding apps as it should be for its premium cost Recently had a migration issue moving from Pro to Ultimate Support was not helpful at all which is why I cant give it a 5              Fantastic app Lousy support
Were newbies to bird watching we get excited when we see a cardinal and this app is great for us Its really helpful to have both photos and illustrations and the bird calls are great for birds that are too far away to really see well Used the bird call feature yesterday to identify a pair of Hooded Mergansers I still use my moms Field Guide to Birds when I have no idea what kind of bird Im seeing but this app is pretty awesome for most casual bird watching                 Great for amateurs
Use this on my phone and iPad Use it with ibird journal Great all around tool                 Great tool for birding
I upgraded to gain access to the BAM birds in my area feature While I love the features ability to reduce the amount of possible birds BAM does not automatically locate my device even with location services turned on In fact it continues to prompt me to turn on location services even though it is already turned on I am using an iPhone 5s and an iPad 2 The app is supposedly geared for the iPhone 5 However the appBAM does map correctly when a location is manually added I am counting on the Waite group to quickly investigate and correct this issue I purchased the app for 999 during a special and use Dropbox to ensure my favs notes and photos are synced between devices Using Family Sharing from Apple you will likely only need to purchase the app one time then share between family devices              Upgraded From iBird Pro
Ive seen many reviews for quite a few birding apps and people have their favorites I however ad a beginner to the world of birding have been searching for a good all around app as I learn more about our wonderful feathers friends iBird Ultimate has never failed to impress Ive tried a few of the Peterson guides and while they are great apps they just dont compare to the way iBird works The search feature is phenomenal and the around me feature alone is worth the price of admission Couple this with a responsive development team and a way to submit user photos to their database and you have a winner As always I would pair ANY Birding app with Cornells Merlin Bird ID since that uploads data directly to Cornells Lab of Ornithology                 Great birding app for beginners and more advanced alike
As to birding Im a book person but when a friend demonstrated this app to me I was sold and dumbfounded Its like carrying around a gigantic multivolume bird encyclopedia on you phone or tablet Nothing is lacking I got it on sale for 1995 but even at the full price of forty bucks its well worth it if youre even somewhat serious about birding An unbelievable find A big thank you to the team that put this together                 Fantastic app
Finally I have an app that is worth my money Great illustrations pictures a Flickr link for related pictures and nice search filters by family characteristics season radius and much more One suggestion would be to enable the user to compare birds side by side Otherwise super job                 Lawman
This app is an incredible value Read about iBird Ultimate in ABA Birding magazine where they examine the various birding apps for how well they search and identify birds The author found the Waites Guide the best of the lot having more capability than any of the other 5 she tested In fact 2 out of 5 didnt even work If you have access to that magazine be sure and check into it                 Best Birders App
An excellent app for birders of all abilities Everything from photos to sounds ecology and behavior is covered as well as everything inbetween I particularly enjoy the link to the companion iJournal app and the fact that the user can add their own photos and notes for any given bird For new birders the Similar Species is likely to be a very useful tool though it seems to have changed or my memory of it as now it doesnt do similarsounding birds Or at least not specifically and that would be a great help to jumpstart the brain when migration first starts or if the user is just learning their bird songs calls and chip notes All the way around an excellent tool that I use daily Well done Mitch Waite Group                 Tremendous Birding App
Great app and love the option to pinpoint birds in my specific area Its fun helpful and Ive learned so much from the information on each identification bar on every bird Thanks                 Loving it
