The big sticking point for me is how slow this app is to open to a usable state I admit I have a large database around 13000 transactions going back to the 1990s My primary use for the iPhone app is entering transactions on the fly For that it just doesnt work In the checkout line at the Grocery I open the app Tapping my foot while the moving dots indicate the app is syncing the transaction is done and Im out in the parking lot before the sync is done It seems like the app tries to allow some navigatingentry while sync is occurring but the screen hangs for long periods Ive tried putting the phone in Airplane mode which prevents sync from starting and the app works pretty well But then I have to remember to turn Airplane mode on once Im done Not a workaround that should be necessary Ive also tried opening the app when I arrive at the store hoping it will sync and then subsequent syncs will be faster Not so        Frustratingly Slow
I have seen ibank grow and continually upgrade through the years This is a great addition                 The best
Ive been using ibank for both mac and iPhone for years but the latest upgrade made it all useless Syncing before was clunky but it worked Now I had to reset it every time I sync and it is so slow takes 510 minutes just to start and every time I add every little single transaction The app is now worthless and useless Im actually afraid to use it because it forces me to wait til it sync or all revisions are gone and I spend half an hour each time Its scary to use Stay away     I want my money back
The latest version is okay but what I miss is having the POS selection All you get now is Withdrawl Deposit or Other When I sync it with the desktop version I have to go back and change all the withdrawals to POS Please bring back the POS selection in the next inevitable update           Bring back the PointOfSale
Careful If you have any difficulties youre out of luck NO PHONE SUPPORT and CHAT is almost always not available And the sync between the iPhone app and the Mac app frequently fails     Crappy Service the worst
This app is useless to me without WebDAV sync Bring it back     No webdav
Ive gotten use to the new app the but latest update has made it harder to enter in new transactions The option to label withdrawal deposits keep hiding and not allowing me to make the selection Would give this an app if they would fix this asap     New but missing all the good features
I have been using the older iBank Mobile app and iBank on the Mac for a long time When I decided to trial the new Cloud sync I discovered that I had to update to this new iPhone app to continue to sync with my phone and I could not switch back to the older WebDAV sync I have a large iBank data file but the old mobile app took about 30 minutes for the initial sync and then only second for each update sync The new Cloud sync with my phone took at least five hours on a fast Internet connection I went to bed and left it syncing Opening the app takes more than a minute so it is completely unusable for my purpose of quickly entering transactions when I am away from home It appears to be well laidout and to offer many more features than the old app investments currencies but it is too slow to be any use at all to me I have reverted to the old iPhone app which is basic but fast and used Time Machine on my Mac to revert my iBank file back to a version configured for WebDAV syncing I have asked for a refund from the iTunes Store because this app is not fit for purpose        Not usable
Ive had my share of problems especially with sync features However after trimming and archiving my 20 years of transaction data both desktop and iOS versions are working much better now Its not perfect but cloud sync is a killer feature iPad version is getting closer to being adequate for stand alone use Watch app should get better as well Its indispensable to me and my family to keep up with our finances on a day to day basis Id recommend this suite of apps to anyone              Best available for desktop and iOS
I have used iBank for years Forced to upgrade because the old manual sync is being sunset This app version is the only way to use the new sync methods One of which requires a subscription how greedy The app itself is ok but its as if two different companies created this and the Mac version Leaving us with no customer service and no backward compatibility because iBank for mobile was pulled from the App Store The biggest issues are When adding an entry your choices on transaction types does not allow for a charge type and others such as ATM and so when you sync you have to go to your Mac version fix it and sync again What a pain and to IGG this isnt an issue to them Its a new feature request The other issue is that not everything syncs So if hiding an account then it wont hide You have to do this manually on all devices Again to IGG its a new feature request So what exactly constitutes and who decides when something is an issue Would our data on IGGs cloud service being hacked be a new feature as well There are other issues like others reported that have trouble setting up the sync the first time and the cellular data that is drained when syncing Im shocked Apple allowed this app to pass its tests In summary I am very disappointed in the support and the progression of these enhancements On one positive note the direction IGG is taking is correct with where technology is at today     BEWARE DO NOT USE WITH iBank for MAC
I use this app every day iCloud sync is awesome I have been using this for the last 3 years it so and it keeps getting better Its the way my wife and I keep our accounts synced to our Mac and it works great Their customer service and support is also excellent if you have a problem                 One of my most used apps
This version of the app loads slower than the old version This may be due to the cloud sync option Load time with the old version was almost instant but this version takes seconds to load Also the old interface made it easier to enter transactions since it was a one step process instead of two And using location search feature causes the app to freeze If these issues were resolved it would be a 45 star app like the old version        Old Version Loaded Faster
Ive had this since v4 All of a sudden on v5 they got greedy and separated the Mac app from the ios app and the iPad app Unfortunately it wasnt for the best The database files imported to v5 got corrupt I lost a bunch of data Then Mac app is buggy some times it selects items in blue and other times in grey The ios app is worse Credit card transactions stopped being cataloged as Charges now they are withdrawals But only if youre on the iOS app on the Mac app they are cataloged as Charges Plus the ios app sometimes hangs on startup and other times after entering a transaction it also hangs I just think that for a 50 set its pretty buggy     Terrible app for such an expensive set
I have been using iBank for many years as a necessary evil after using many good Windows programs iBank changes too many fees for separate apps services and upgrades Additionally projecting future cash flow is terrible compared to similar options in MSMoney and Quickbooks The matching transaction capability is cumbersome and not user friendly The inability to easily export reports to spreadsheets in a useable format makes analysis and budget creation difficult Its only advantage is lack of competition on Macs     Too many fees Best on Mac not saying much
The group that produces this app has for a very long time provided the means within the app to sync your data locally over you own private network to your Mac I have been doing this for years The app was just auto updated and now I have a whole bunch of financial data stuck inside my iPhone that I am not able to sync with my Mac because the developer decided to remove this critical feature I thought that I could surely export my data so that I could get my Mac up to date No export option is available with this software I strongly advise that you do not use this software to keep track of your financial records Even if the company says that it offers a cloud sync solution I would not trust it with personal financial data It is very unfortunate that this software platform has changed from a stellar gold class product 5 years ago to this unreliable untrustworthy and overpriced solution     So now I am not allowed to sync my data
We use this to handle our budget and manage where and how much we spend our money Its very handy that its right there on my phone and that it syncs with my other devices It does have bugs at times but they fix them in time I wish it was easier to set up loans mutual funds 401ks and other features that have interest rates etc I do recommend this app for anyone interested and serious about sticking to a budget and managing their money wisely              Great App Resource
Developing finance apps is very difficult and IGG has nailed it Realizing that people want a synchronization solution that allows for offline data entry the ability to synchronize while on a trip they have built a great synchronization solution for Free They provide endtoend encryption so that data is never stored unencrypted              Best Personal Finance app
I gave this app a 1 or 2 star review in November shortly after it was released I still have some gripes about the iPhone UI It does not handle splits very well the transaction types do not match the desktop version it still does not show a running balance after each transaction But the syncing problems with wifi sync are solved with the cloud sync I had avoided it because it appeared that it was only a paid upgrade I had a session with support and discovered that there is a free level of cloud sync I have since switched to cloud sync and it love the way this works seamlessly I can now sync 2 iPhones and 2 computers and it is always up to date I hope they fix my other gripes but this is a very good app both on the Mac and on the iPhone Buy it and do the free cloud sync You should love it              Updated Review
Very functional manager of finances on the go with excellent user interface Still lacking custom report generator              Comprehensive
I like that I can sync my iPhone and my Mac This helps as I dont always remember to input a transaction if I dont do it at the store I like being able to glance at my watch to see my balances As a long time IGG Software company uses I know they will keep improving the app              Good app
I upgraded from iBank3 and iBank4 on both iPhone and MacBookPro The data conversion had only a few issues with my budgets which Im still tweaking However the upgrade notified me this would happen so I knew to expect it Overall the direct access is awesome but Im using the cloud sync and it works great I had a few issues getting the cloud started but its worked flawlessly since The price is high if youre a new user but if youre upgrading the 10 for iPhone and 30 upgrade for Mac version is still cheaper than the alternatives as long as you dont use the direct access which I dont You can still download transactions the same way you used to under ibank4 for free Overall the best personal app out there and I tried Moneydance and MoneyWiz Neither even compare Favorite feature is the budget on my phone EXCELLENT There still needs to be some tweaking for entering transactions on iPhone Not very easy to do if you need to enter transactions from your phone But if youre using the autoimport the way it was designed to be used then you wont have any issues                 Excellent App
It would be fantastic I use I bank on my Mac and would like to access it from the phone Nope Worked once Flakey setup process Should be applefied so it can just work Upgrade soon maybe Hate to waste 10        If it worked
A word of advice if you plan to use this on iPhone or iPad only it may be OK Just painfully slow But DO NOT TRY TO USE THIS WITH THE DESKTOP VERSION OF IBANK The autosync on the iOS version regularly overwrites transactions already entered and reconciled on the desktop version The developer must give the option to stop Direct Access syncing from happening on iOS Other than that MAJOR issue this is a fullfeatured personal finance app Maybe too full featured It is incredibly slow Typing entries in the ledger actually slows down the iPhone keyboard so that letter keys get frozen partway through typing and you can only type one letter every 23 seconds The last version was basic not great but at least it worked simply and did what I wanted to do on a phone This new version is just awful They try to cram an entire financial management application onto the phone and as a result nothings works very well This app is painfully slow and buggy Whether its the slowness of its operation and syncing or simply bugs in the code it spontaneously quits all the time When it runs every single operation takes FOREVER There are no user configurable options in this so it does all sorts of things that I simply dont want done on my phone It attempts to sync with all my online financial accounts via Direct Access which I only want to happen with the desktop version of iBank There is no way to stop the iPhone from updating accounts as well and it introduces all sorts of bugs into your data file Using the iPhone app every account gets both duplicated transactions and missing transactions because it spontaneously deletes transactions that were entered on the desktop They havent built into the mobile version any of the intelligence that exists on the desktop credit card transactions dont have Import Rules that consistently format them transactions that match already entered ones appear as New instead of Match Whats the point of Cloud Sync if they try to do online updates both via the phone AND the desktop With both devices updating the file there are constant inconsistencies and data corruption problems being introduced into my accounts The transaction types in the phone version dont match the available transaction types on the phone so if you use both you basically have to ignore all the transaction types available on the desktop except Deposit and Withdrawal Its as if the two apps are made by different companies who dont know how to work together There is no ability to order accounts and set primary and secondary ones as there was on the prior version I now have to wade through dozens of accounts just to find the few that I actually care about when using the app on my phone There are so many other problems but I wont go into them all It would be nice if IGG had a forum online to address these issues but they have just a few support documents online that dont get to the real problems They are little more than marketing documents iBank in its desktop and mobile versions is unfortunately the best financial software on the Mac but that just shows how sorry the whole software category is IGG seems well intentioned but all their software is slow rough around the edges and is always two steps forward one step back in every version Id love to see them get it right     HORRIBLE with Desktop Version Erases Data
It still lacks adequate real time and fully synchronous syncing On every open it initiates a sync automatically that is excruciatingly slow and fails to update as new changes are made on other devices unless you manually trigger it via a secondary action Full cloud sync could be solved if they adopted iCloud Instead we have to trust their own in house sync solution whereas Apples is verified as secure and integrated with other iOS and MacOS devices They rushed to get this out the door and in doing so also failed to at least provide CloudKit integration to provide real time synchronous sync rather than the horrible outdated asynchronous sync they currently use which relies on manually syncing on the Mac to update all of your devices AND they also forgot this was supposed to a mobile app The layout and function steps required to do anything in it is straight out of the Mac This could be a replacement for iBank 5 for MAC Not even close to being a step forward for iPhone Thankfully I didnt delete iBank 1x for iPhone and Im still using it to enter transactions on the go and well just about everything I would want on my iPhone Its exciting to see Intuit become a contender again with Quicken 2015 IGG needs a kick in the pants     They forgot its supposed to be a mobile app HORRIBLE sync still old school and SLOW
The new updates are great The sync process is very good I have found the features to be well thought out and provide the services I need                 iBank for iPhone works great
I upgraded my Mac version to 56 and foolishly switched to iBank Cloud sync I guess I eventually had to since IGG was forcing everyone No upgrade path whats another 10 from my now useless and discontinues iBank mobile which WORKED 10 hours later the iPhone has still not synced with the iBank Cloud Customer services response sorry you are having problems with sync FIX IT I have had iBank for iPad for a couple of years same problems I know syncing is hard but some companies seem to figure it out     Sync issues cannot use iPhone version
The old version of the app was solid and straightforward to use Theyve made minor improvements in this version as time has gone on but until they implement some of the usability and workflow features Ive requested a while back that were present in the old version incidentally I cant highly recommend this appespecially for the price Very frustrating        Not impressed with this version
I use iBank I like iBank I have two complaints mobile app takes forever to sync and there is no clear progress bar The old version told you exactly the transaction count that was being synced Other Request is there needs to be an option to Display Current Balance and Ending Balance Only shows Ending Balance        Good but needs improvement
This is a great idea You have an electronic check register through iBank app on your phone You enter into the app your spending and deposit transactions through out the day Come home open iBank on your laptop and all the transactions magically appear in the register and all your accounts at your bank update their balances on your Mac laptop as well as any other hand held devices that have the app on it Great for joint checking accounts Its awesome when it works The keyword is when it works I have uninstalled reinstalled and reconfigured at least 5 times It will updatesync for about a day and then its back to not updating On the Mac everything has to be reentered again using the record kept in the phone I have emailed back and forth to tech support and since it takes them several days to get back to me this issue has been going on for about a month It is very disappointing I dont recommend this app until they figure this out I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the few times it did work This app is pretty much pointless        Only syncs a few times
While I do like that iCloud sync finally works this is an app that went from pretty functional to a disaster        Truly ruined a workable app
Update I was able to figure out my sync issues with much web searching and trialanderror Software is syncing fine now I will upgrade my review to a 4 but beware of the lack of support In fairness I did finally get generic help emails days after my initial request for help Initial review I am terribly disappointed in iBank just now I had V4 working OK with a few sync problemsbut manageable When the Apple Store required a hard reset of my phone I lost iBank 4 Since it is no longer available in the App Store I bit the bullet and paid to download iBank 5 for my phone and my computer Now I cannot get them to sync and I have had no response to my 3 emails I missed the window for their live chat because I had to work today and the chat window is only open 95 when I am at work trying to pay for the software that does not work HUGELY disappointed              Sync issues and poor customer support
Listen to your customers IGG We dont trust you with our financial data in the cloud when much larger and more resourceful companies get hacked all the time Bring back local WebDAV sync Dont be arrogant and refuse to listen to your customers     FORCES YOU TO UPLOAD YOUR FINANCIAL DATA TO CLOUD
With comprehensive features that go beyond the basics iBank for iPhone is able to handle any financial situation I could throw at it Its streamlined to handle the mostcommon activities like pointofsale transactions with little fuss And its simple interface makes it easy to see my current balance easily saving me the cost of this app in bank charges But it doesnt end there advanced budgets detailed categories simple sync and integration with its excellent desktop companion on and on When my friends are ready to stop being frustrated with the limitations of their current setup iBank is the one I recommend              Best of breed
For me there is nothing not to like about this app I did have difficulty getting my data onto the server The help I received however was extraordinary and we got it done Once my data was there everything worked perfectly Its better than the desktop app especially in its ability to search all transactions An easy five stars                 Works very nicely
Updated review from 12214 I wish there was a way to integrate the old interface and the current one possibly swiping between the two The current interface makes it more time consuming to enter transactions on the go so my husband has not upgraded to the current versionand hes able to enter transactions much more quickly than I am I also have not updated to the cloud functionality as I do not want my financial data stored there 12214 Ive used iBank for years both on my Mac and my iPhone and have loved it This update which provides significant changes is a huge step backwards Syncing between my Mac and iPhone takes 23 minutes instead of 1530 seconds The interface while more modern looking is actually clunkier and takes longer to enter in transactions on the go I miss the opening screen of the last version where I could have my favorite accounts and their balances listed Now after wasting 5 and lots of time I have to see if I can go back to the older version and get it to still work I only updated because the new version of iBank on my Mac said I needed the new version of iBank on my iPhone to work with it        Would like hybrid of old new
What I really like about iBank was that I could keep my finances off the Web by directly syncing my phone to my computer The iOS 9 update of this app will disable this feature and going forward I will have to use their cloud services to sync data between apps I got this message when setting up the sync to my laptop I am really disappointed If I wanted to have my data on the cloud I would use Mint and its free     Direct sync will be disabled
I have used iBank for Mac for years and it is a very good application However the syncing with the iPhone app is unreliable at best and IGG Software doesnt seem serious about their cloud sync solution since it is still in beta Therefore I cant recommend the iBank for iPhone     Totally unreliable syncing
This is a BIG step down from the previous version Difficult to manually enter info and it no longer shows me a chart of overall incomeexpenses Plus its not categorizing income correctly        Disappointed
iBank used to be 5star material However in the past three months it has failed catastrophically to sync with my Mac Im looking elsewhere     I used to live this app
I purchased the ibank apps for both my iPhone and my iPad to monitor my net worth The iPad app works very well and I would purchase it again But the iPhone app does not have a grand total of my assets less liabilities This makes the app worthless for my purpose     No good for my purposes
The suite of applications was okay at first but now greed seems to have taken hold I paid for the application for my computer then paid for the iPhone app Then they took away the ability for the two to sync unless I want to pay MORE for their cloud syncing Someone wrote that its free but unless Im missing something huge its only free for 30 days Then you have the wonderful opportunity to get your wallet BACK out forANOTHER subscription service And sorry I dont trust them with my sensitive data being stored in THEIR cloud     Syncing gets expensive
Crashes a few seconds after opening for me     Crashes
The iBank app and MacOS desktop companion are hands down the easiest and most useful suite of finance apps for the Mac and possibly anywhere This is what Intuit could have produced if they werent inexplicably squandering the opportunity But my state revenue department even publicly advised against using Intuits tax software But iBanks creators clearly seem to get what Mac consumers want the simplicity of Mint and portability of iOS combined with the power of what Quicken once seemed to be iBank makes me actually want to track my finances carefully and that is worth its weight in gold Or at least the money needed to purchase it                 Awesome
Yes wifi sync is gone but the new Private seriously read the blog data is fully encrypted Cloud Sync is FREE FREE FREE                 Cloud Sync is FREE
Cloud sync works flawlessly for us since months ago when we went to the current version on both the computer and the mobile devices Had some problems when using old version on one current version on others Those were detailed in my previous reviews With the current version on the MacBook iPhone 4S iPhone 5S iPad mini and original iPad Retina the free cloud sync works Day after day week after week now month after month it works                 We cloud sync four mobile and computer multiple accounts
v25 was a problem with a new UI that was less convenient than prior versions Now with iOS9 they have given up on local sync altogether and forced users who want to sync to use their cloud sync If JP Morgan and CitiBank cant keep the hackers out why does IGG think they can Peer to Peer syncing works just fine for plenty of apps forcing my data into the cloud to be able to sync Mac and iPhone is not acceptable Ive removed this app from my iPhone it is dead to me     Going downhill welcome to hacker heaven
Does what I want it to do and syncs to my desktop via httpswebdav Havent made their case to change syncing to their cloud sync method yet so I wont upgrade to the 9only version soon probably 3x Syncing is the core feature that made me get this and the older ibank mobile too once I got iPhone Prior to iBank I used Palm and quicken which worked then was approaching the viability horizon and I wouldnt go back now                 Very good
With no Wifi sync the software is useless They are pushing everyone to their subscription model Not ready to share all financial data on cloud Good bye iBank You have become greedy     From 5 star to one
Have to rewrite my review after the latest update This is absolute perfection Syncing is very well thought out and extremely precise Combined with iBank on my Mac and its sister companion iBank for iPhone nothing could be simpler Going on about 4 years with iBank now and darn sure would never go back to Quicken                 Completely Perfect
I leave the same review for every version and ask to add the same 2 features This app is everything I need I dont have a Mac so I only use the standalone version Although it was a little pricy it is the best finance app out there I love the splittransactions My only recommendations are totaling the accounts for each category and as a whole Also it would be nice to be able to rearrange the order of transactions Please add these and it will be perfect              Almost Perfect
