I purchased this app and iBank desktop after 23 years of using Quicken The latter offered limited support for mobile platforms and iBank for iPad offered much more of what I wanted including 1 It can be used as a standalone app or synced with the OSX version 2 Support for a full range of account types investment property loans mortgages as well as banks and credit card accounts 3 Ability to sync seamlessly and above all reliably across platforms so that there is a single source of truth 4 Support for direct downloads to accounts rather than relying solely on syncing with a desktop version 5 Attractive uncluttered interface 6 Well thought out security I deducted 1 star for features that should be added to round out its capabilities including 1 No facility to reconcile accounts in iPad or IPhone versions 2 Limited reporting capabilities and no facility to create PDFs 3 Longer pass codes use of upperlower case letters numbers and special characters should be required 4 No facility to store attachments invoices statements etc in this release 5 Limited ability to update prices of securities that arent publicly traded eg 401k funds Overall what IGG got right in iBank for iPad far outweighs the feature requests above Im very pleased with it and look forward to the day I can rely solely on my iPad              The most comprehensive personal finance iPad app
Perfect for keeping track of ALL of your finances Would like for IGG not to charge me 40 for direct downloads though Also has limited edit options needs better sync           Great app
Now that sync with Mac and iPhone is working it is great I too wish Direct Access was not so ridiculously expensive I would love to use it Also wish budget items could be variable by month MANY items are variable by month gifts and vacation being classic examples                 Love iBank
Looking for a new app to do my finances since iBank is forcing me to PAY to use their cloud for storage of my financial data I already paid them for the MAC app and apps for iPad Do not use this app Not sure if I am going to be able to migrate my years of data to another app Am I upset You bet Will I EVER use an app from these guys again No way     iBank Blew It
Listen to your customers IGG We dont trust you with our financial data in the cloud when much larger and more resourceful companies get hacked all the time Bring back local WebDAV sync Dont be arrogant and refuse to listen to your customers     REMOVES LOCAL SYNC NEVER TRUST CLOUD SECURITY
I was very excited to find this app but I have been disappointed by its performance It was unable to sync correctly with my bank downloading some transactions missing others and not recognizing the transactions I entered when cleared by the bank The customer support was slow and took days to respond I am unhappy to report that I wasted my money on this app     Great idea still glitchy
I do not like the Cloud Sync too risky With that said Cloud Sync isnt working Only gives me the balances from 2 months ago not current     Syn not working
App just wants to rename cloud sync file but wont open it     Cloud Sync Doesnt Work
This used to be a great app one of few to manage both investments and daily transactions and synch between desktop and iPad Easy to take my business on the road But they broke it and its become useless to me Im about to leave on a 4 month trip and suddenly I cant synch any of my accounts between my Mac and my iPad Tried to upgrade to the cloud even though I dont trust the cloud because I cant be without my financial information for 4 months That doesnt work either Can support help Nope not if its after 2 pm on the west coast After monkeying with it for 4 hours exporting everything to qif files and taking a series of screen shots all of which I emailed to myself I am leaving town in the morning with enough current information to put in excel to work on while Im gone A kludge but will have to do until I find a replacement app     They broke ithas become useless
Clearly there is room for UX improvement for setting up Cloud Sync Choose Create a New Document to get Cloud Sync setup                 Choose Creat a New Document for cloud sync
Ive spent three days looking at Finance software to replace Pocket Money which is now defunct This is the only serious app I found for the iPad and it has everything bundled into one app Thanks iBook and IGG Well worth the price Ive updated this review to 5 based on use Once past the learning curve and data migration this app is supercharged Migration from other apps can be a challenge depending on their ability to export data in the right file format Ive also purchased the MAC version which is also fully loaded and beats the competition Cloud Sync between the two apps works flawlessly and with encrypted password is secure CONS There may be a steep learning curve for those not familiar with accountingfinancial software andor accounting IGG has a complete instruction manual for the MAC version but not a lot for the iPad version They have online and phone support but I havent used either so cant give a rating on support Would like to see more in the way of user configurable fields turn onoff options The budgeting feature is ok but inflexible compared to Pocket Money Detailed reporting is lacking search tools primitive at best No date range Does not total or sub total results period Not user configurable Trying to figure out what youve spent at Walmart as an example in the past 90 days is impossible with this app Not a showstopper but then again a full featured app should be able to do this Id recommend to a friend              Powerful
While they have finally fixed the app so that you can actually enter transactions into it easily they have introduced problems into iBank I used to be able to sync this app using my Mac as the hub over my own wifi network No more IGG has taken it out of the program If you want to sync this with your Mac you have to use their cloud service Also the app does not support the Mac apps envelope budgeting Being able to see what is left in the envelopes would be a start even if I couldnt move or touch them Without the localnetwork syncing the app is pretty useless to me Without the envelope budgeting the app is much less useful than it could be     They broke what works
IGG Holdings should pay us since were Beta testers for them Other reviewers warned me but I didnt listen Lots of bugs in this one Dont be like me unless you just want to tinker with iBank Put it back in the oven its not done yet        WOW this thing is FULL OF BUGS
Love the Cloud Syncgood way to get started is to first create a cloud sync document and then make new files on other devices and syncing from that original file Did not understand how to start using an old file that have never been sync from the new file I use the Mac and iPhone and iPad apps and they are all working fine with the new cloud sync and direct access Your cloud sync document is encrypted on your device and sent to the cloud of which only you can access with your key This is a first Think of all the files in the plain that users upload to Intuit using the mint and Quicken programs                 Cloud SyncGood
If had know that after paying 20 Ill still be required to pay a Subscription fee to make the software work I would never had bought it Thats just ridiculous There are many other out there thats not doing that Example Mint You people are a joke THE SYNC IS NOT BROKEN THEY JUST WANT YOU TO PAY MORE     20 software and still charging a subscription fee
For the price you pay for the app on the laptop and the additional price for the phone app youd think they could add charge as a type of transaction on the phone app As it is now if you enter a credit card transaction you have to use withdrawal           Could be better
Long time quicken for PC user switched to quicken essentials 3 years ago and have been looking for a better Mac solution since Started using iBank a month ago and have been impressed Integration with financial institutions is very good and easy to set up I have 14 accounts and I have all of them integrated Customer support quick and accurate Much better than quicken essentials for Mac It has transaction detail for investment accounts and basic reporting in place Areas of improvement Need easier way to set up budgets using historical data Mass change of transactions Ability to enter and manage employee stock options and grants Easier ability to customize reports              Impressed
Great App May be improved to Match iPhones              Great App May be improved to Match iPhones
I must state up front that I am very good with computers pads and software having work extensively for my profession I purchesed iBank 261 for iPad and am very disappointed After six months of using iBank for iPad on my iPad Air 2 it stopped updating from Wells Fargo called Wells and they said it had nothing to do with them and besides it was a third party app Did the iBank live chat twice no help but got the techs email each time I wrote it was like the first time they are very nice but do nothing Finally after four emails and no reply for a week I sent an email and asked is anybody going to do anything or am I just on my own The tech Melissa wrote back after a day and said she had a couple days off and suggested that I go to live chat again All this in the last three weeks hows that for service Oh well all that work setting up categories adding expenses for my business and getting it running perfect gone Dont waste your time they dont know or care if their software works for you just give them the 20 40 and be done with it     Works for me
Unfortunately they seem to have REMOVED wifi sync while adding iCloud sync Unfortunately that means no more iBank for me I will not be putting my financial file on iCloud Very sad I have found this program to be terrific but this is a dealkiller for me     No more wifi sync
When I experienced an issue regarding my data file the companys top engineers worked with me to correct it I truly appreciate them salvaging my data                 Great customer service
There are just as good of apps for less and in some cases free like Mint andor Mint Bills which are both free and give you real time downloads from your financial house     Over Priced
I was a Quicken user for over 20 years and last month finally got fed up with all of their bug problems with their latest release This app is simple to use and simple to set up Does not have report functions but I have not really missed this since leaving Quicken I like that I can work on my finances with my iPad anywhere I sit down and dont need to be in front of a PC anymore The day of the PC is nearing the end Only thing I would improve is the reconciliation function as this is a little too time consuming Overall great App                 Great App
Just not intuitive since procedure My iPhone has no problems syncing to my iMac but this application is a bust I am going to ask for my money back     Sync does not work
Every time I try to enteredit multiple transactions in one session iBank crashes on the second transaction I just cant trust my financial records to such an unreliable app     Crashes constantly
Ive used iBank for several years but it is only recently when setting up new accounts in it and getting it going on my 3 iOS devices that I have begun to appreciate the excellent customer service backing up this product Those guys have been so patient with my gettingitgoing issues Thanks for all the help and for making such a terrific product Im liking that Direct Access too                 Belated rave for an excellent app
I am a licensed CPA and I highly recommend this product I am currently only using it on my iPad and have previously used Microsoft and Intuit productsby far this is my favorite It tracks all of my monthly bills and due dates by account It syncs with most of my bank accounts and credit card Its easy to use As far as the complaints on the sync to desktop get rid of the desktop version I did Its too much work Im not sure why you would use both As far as security goes Target and Anthem already leaked my personal data Luckily as long as you report suspicious activity quickly you are okay This app makes reviewing data weekly or monthly easy                 CPA Approved
This iPad app is decently designed as a way to see the status of all of your iBank accounts It is NOT a standalone finance app Using it depends entirely on being connected via WiFi to your OPEN iBank app on your computer While you can run it on your iPad any time it only syncs with the data on your desktop iBank database If you use OFX not Direct Access for updating accounts on your desktop iBank like I do this app cannot do that As a result it is essentially useless when traveling           Totally Dependent on Desktop app
Free cloudsync works fine whether traveling or at home Old versions were good current are even better Sync is great since I went to the current versions on both computer and mobile We sync the computer an iPhone 4S iPhone 5S original iPad Retina and original iPad mini                 We sync four mobile devices wcomputer
The app worked wonderfully when I first got it a year ago I felt confident using it Now it will not download from my bank when items have cleared I have to enter those entries manually It is very frustrating           Love it hate it
Sync over WiFi with iPad version is not working regardless of few updates This App is not ready yet     Do not rush
All of people that say this is good iPad checking app better go back take second look it was worse twenty dollars I spent I would been better to have gave it a homeless person     No good
Suits my needs to do my banking I do not use syncing but can to banks site to reconcile whenever I need to There are some reminder features Id like to see but otherwise I like it              Use as basic checkbook
Lets start with the syncing It works very well in the cloud I can make a change to a transaction amount or add a category on my iPad and then open the app on my mac or iphone to see it all in sync Sure the wifi sync is going away but that was the reason I didnt use it much till the cloud sync came along When I am out I want to see what my budget looks like or add a transaction with my iphone and then come home to see more reports on my mac and never worry about the data being out of sync So make the transition to the cloud it is not regrettable Budgeting and reporting works really well but time to get deeper analytics of of the data I have been using the app for over two years I plan to continue                 Very Pleased Very Reliable Very best financial app available
I have been using iBank for Mac for several years and just added the iPad version I like this version for its easy view of my finances I wish they synchronizing worked better and faster but that may come with the new Cloud sync which is in beta right now              Good financial app esp when paired with Mac version
If you need to sync your Mac data with an IOS device but you want to keep your data inhouse do NOT buy The developers have broken inhouse wifi sync and either dont know how or dont intend to fix it I will be looking to go elsewhere for my financial software Shame on you IGG Software I have continued to try to establish and keep working a wifi sync to no avail If I wipe out all connections and trash my data file on the iPad to start over I can get it to work but only once Future syncs with the exact same settings always fail Extremely frustrating i refuse to use Cloud sync no matter how safe or encrypted they claim it to be If I could give zero stars I would Guess its time to look for new software again     Beware UPDATED
It once worked but I havent used it for awhile Today it would not work I dont know if the problem is the iPad app or the new version of iBank on my iMac but I suspect the app since it opens and immediately closes     Does not work
A window opens up to rename document and that is as far as it goes Donate the money to charity at least you will get the good feeling     Useless
The the addition of cloud syncing really has improved the overall experience There have been some bumps along the way but you can see the work is improving with each new version                 Keeps getting better
I have been a Quicken user on PCs for years but on my Mac I had to boot into Windows to use it I tried using Quicken for Mac but was disappointed with its features This app has everything I need What I especially appreciate is the documentation and the new cloud sync As soon as the cloud sync comes out of beta I would give it 5 stars              Best Apple Finance App on the Market
I really only have one problem with this app It would be much easier if you could clear a transaction with just a touch of a button It would make it much easier to confirm transaction with bank statement It should just be a check box to change from pending to cleared without going back and editing the whole transaction Other than that it is very helpful for budgeting and keeping track of finances              Overall good lacking some features
Its so nice to have to sync my various iOS devices with my MacBook Air Yes there have been a few glitches but no one is perfect Each glitch seems to be addresses and corrected in a timely fashion              Thrilled with a few exception
Great program best on iPad integrates great with iBank on mac Cloud syncing works great as when use your idevices to add a transactions automatically syncs across the other ones when you open the application Highly recommended                 Great program
App crashes every time I try to edit or enter a transaction Continuous issues with ibank for iPad and ibank for Mac despite years of development I wish there was an alternative     Crashes despite years of development
You add the transaction in the first screen but then have to go to another screen to change the date Would make sense to add the date to the same screen where you add the amount and payee     Newest update
iBank is the best Home Finance App we have found It seems stable and well thought out We use the iPad and the Mac App We have data back to 1992 in several accounts and it syncs in just a couple of minutes the fist time and just seconds afterward Budgeting is great The app on the Mac is still a work in progress but at this point it is more robust than Quicken I hope IGG keeps working at it              The Best Home Finance App
Syncing with iBank on a Mac via Bonjour is unreliable at best and may flat out refuse to work Since only a complete idiot would give someone else full access to their financial data aka cloud sync this makes the product pretty useless for anyone who wants to use it with the Mac version        Syncing is broken
Sync with the desktop version has been flaky ever since the cloud sync still in beta has been introduced IGG has confirmed that WiFi sync will be eliminated when cloud sync in finalized This means you must store your financial files online I dont care how much encryption you promise me I am not going to trust my personal data with a third party Meanwhile wifi sync is completely broken I have done all the fixes turn off bluetooth turn off firewall reset and start from scratch It just doesnt work anymore Support will not address wifi sync concerns via email they direct you to chat which is only available during certain hours The iPad version has come a long way and is not bad as a standalone app It is missing many critical features from the desktop version There is no way to reconcile statements with the iPad version major omission which is still not addressed If you have any plans to sync your data with iPad and desktop find another application or trust them to keep your data safe in their cloud and that the cloud sync eventually comes out of beta and works     Sync is broken and being eliminated
Ive been using iBank for the desktop ever since Quicken was discontinued for the Mac a few years ago The transition was a bit hard but once I figured it out It became my new favorite I was hesitant about getting iBank for the iPad since Ive read a lot of negative reviews but finally decided to take the plunge The verdictit works very well Im able to add transactions on the fly and reconcile anywhere and anytime and the app is very intuitive The syncing is streamlined through the cloud and I dont have to do anything to have the desktop and iPad be in sync As long as iBank doesnt make any drastic updates that can make it crash and fail Im extremely happy with this version                 Its a great thing
Another update and still no support for envelope budgeting which is a far more effective way to manage household income and expenses than a simple comparison of actual and projected expenses The app is not useful to me without it     Still no support for Envelope Budgeting
