This app is pretty good and straightforward really Can deposit cheques transfer between accounts and a lot more One of the downsides has no rewards section for credit cards              Its pretty good
Log in should be basic simple Multiple passwords and codes Unbelievable        Make it simple straight forward
Hard to believe that an international company can come up with such a dreadful app They must have tried really hard to make it this bad Multiple multiple passwords passcodes yes those are different memorable phrases security questions etc I cant even get into my own account Whatever you do dont make my mistake and try several times to remember one of your passwords I got locked out and the only way to reactivate it is to call their security team which only operate during daytime working hours no weekends or evenings meaning it took me 2 weeks to get back access to my own information Do yourself a favor and just use Mint or similar to check balances and the PC if you have to make a transaction Mind you web access also gets more difficult every month Seriously considering just changing banks if it keeps going the same direction Hello HSBC if youre reading this how about thinking about your customers next time instead of just your own risk management     DREADFUL wish I could give zero stars
This app is barely ordinary HSBC is forcing all of its internet customers to download the app as part of a new security measure the kind of hamhanded customer service that encourages users to close their accounts Then the required app only allows you to check balances and transfer money between HSBC accounts Elementary functions forced on customers     Barely ordinary
Just to activate my app there was an incredibly long process that requires you to download an app check email for an activation a special password then to make it worse you get an error message stating the service is unavailable Then you have to call customer service Its a waste of time Go with a bank that has better customer service with a better mobile experience     Frustrating and time wasting

The application is slow and does not run smoothly There are two step password to just access it and another two for every transaction Why does not use the Apple finger scan For money transfer if you have multiple currency accounts the default is your last account opened instead of the main currency of the country Definitely requires a system analyst to build this app as my experience prove otherwise     Bad application

I dont blame the programmers clearly this is hsbcs management fault Ridiculous security requirements everywhere constantly changing but getting worse and more confusing The app itself updates in app which actually breaks app guidelines as well as laughably bad Ui design the app starts on a menu that hides your account balance An embarrassment for a global bank     So bad apple should reject it

Something internally is broken between the hsbc website and this app I literally just spent like three hours trying to get it to work And like an hour and a half on the phone with customer service I just got error message after error message I was so hopefully that hsbc had finally gotten their sh together on online banking but alas it isnt so I may finally have to ditch this bank     Completely broken

I have been trying to activate the app for the last 45 minuteswhich apparently is now required in order to do a transfer of funds The app forced me to call HSBC to finish activation and I have been waiting on hold for over 30 minutes so far Unbelievably bad customer experience Planning to close my account once this issue is resolved     Horrendous

Cant get 2nd activation to work It says call them but there is no way to call outside the app since Im not in the US at the moment No way to enter the 2nd code unless you call within the app Im upgrading phones so now I started the activation on my new phone the app on my old phone which has been activated does not work The programmers on this app should be fired     Useless

I never write reviews but this app is so bad that I felt I had to I have been a customer of HSBC for about 10 years now In order to login to my savings I need a password memorable passcode and now a security device I was forced to download the app even tho I only access this account on my desktop I set up all the security things they requested only to be locked out of my account when trying to access on the desktop I had to get the stupid app once again The app is so limited I cannot believe an international bank cannot find better people to make their app     Garbage

I understand the need for password protection etc but many other banks now use Touch ID for mobile apps Is it ever coming to this app        No Touch ID yet
Looking into the reviews about this app I was reluctant to download But then I gave it a try it is actually not bad I did few simple viewing on my local global accounts and it is working fine no issue at all I have not checked for transfer transaction but will hope they work too Seems a good user friendly app give it a try                 Good user friendly app
So now we need a memorial phrase which is different from password and a separate device security code just to login Sometimes you need one code and not the other You need the phone app for external fund transfer but cant do it on the app anyway I give up I want to close my account now     Absurd Security Model
I had to install this because I needed to do a bank to bank transfer So I was required to install this app get an activation code online enter it into my phone Then I got logged out online I log back in need to grab another code from my phone Then I got logged out again Log back in I was back to beginning got a code to enter into my phone Are you kidding me I am a software engineer so usually I can figure out onlineapp workflows But this one is beyond my imagination Because of this app I will close my HSBC account soon     This endless activation loop will end my 10 year relationship with HSBC
This app is definitely one of my favorite apps I use this app often Its so beneficial I check my account balances transfer funds and also pay bills right from the convenience of my iPhone with this app Definitely recommend it                 Favorite App
I too like a previous reviewer just wanted to transfer money like Ive done for years But I wasnt allowed until I installed this app called HSBC for an activation code had to have activation code no2 emailed and then had to use the app to generate a security code for me to log on the main website All this just to find out that Im not the primary on the account so now I cannot do anything So now my husband will have to go through all this to transfer the money Couldnt have been more difficult or confusing     Such a disappointment
HSBC has to be the most frustrating entity I deal with online Security yes but they change requirements over and over with no warning Now I need a security device which seems to require this app The app is useless I am given an activation code on the full site but the app doesnt ask for it Ive logged in logged out in out I cant make a bank to bank transfer without the stupid security device Now Ive been on hold with their customer service for an hour Were experiencing unusual delays Ill bet you are if everyone is having the same experience     Fed up
I discovered that in order to perform banktobank transfers online I need to activate a secure mobile device by downloading this stupid HSBC app and entering a activation code I did all that only to discover that to continue on to the next activation step I need to call them So I called only to be put on hold30 minutes and still counting If I ever do manage to complete the activation process the first thing Im gonna do is transfer all of my money from HSBC to my BofA account     Horrible requirements
This app is an abomination The log in process is insane and locks you out as a matter of course You WILL find yourself unable to retrieve your money or perform basic account servicesboth on the app and the web Ive personally weathered 4 hours of frustrating UI with crazy dead ends wild goose chases and phone calls to an indifferent help linejust to get into the app Right now Im locked out again and my last 54 minute call produced no solutions Wellthey did tell me I should go back and find my old phonethe one I recently upgradedto deactivate that one so I could log in using my FIVE passwords to this new onenot that phones are ever upgraded or lost Seriously put your money somewhere else HSBCs online services are the worst online services of any kind Ive ever seen You will experience endless frustration if you use it     Worst App Ive Ever UsedSeriously

This app is like a necessary evil It has features that are a bonus like photo check deposit though only up until a certain amount making it impossible to deposit a large check without going to a branch which is not convenient when youre trying to do banking in a different city or country And then theres the fact that we used to be able to make transactions via global accounts in the app until it completely disappeared with a new upgrade Ive since lost track of so much pertinent info to my account its ridiculous and highly frustrating Last Ive deleted and reloaded the app only to no longer have a security key code generator tab so I cant log onto my neither my US nor French accounts via the app or web When I opened up the App Store to complain to the developers it only shoots me to a new web page of FAQs So effectively Im locked out of web access to my account Do they read these reviews at all     Id delete it if it werent sometimes necessary
My experience is largely the same as the others I am normally sending excess cash to my hsbc account and one day a couple weeks ago discovered I couldnt without either an app or a cumbersome card I felt quite safe having a user ID password and memorable answer but now the app holds on to my user ID and i only have to enter one code How is that more secure Then the person the phone asked if I wanted an ATM card really now thats really safeguarding my money isnt it What a bunch of jokers and they pay one of the lowest online interest rates around Not impressed at all     Five steps backwards in security
I just wanted to transfer some money from one account to another as I have done many times before but today they said I had to download and use this app if I wanted access to my money In the end the whole process involved logging in to the website 45 times downloading the app logging in to the app a few times you need to app to generate security codes but it cant generate them if youre already logged in so you have to log out and log in again calling twice and listening to robotic phone menus and talking to two different representatives the first one seemed to have no idea why I was connected to her Why are the people who designed this so clueless It really made me want to stop being an HSBC customer so I just withdrew almost all of my money Unfortunately this review probably wont help much because as far as I can tell you pretty much have to download and use this app unless you want to have a separate security device or just go to a different bank     Absolute Nightmare
App takes a long time to download multiple error messages along the way You enter 1st sec code and app says call customer service You call answer more security questions Then they should emailtext second sec code but are having tech problems so an hour into the process I cant log in on mobile or website Agree with need for enhanced security but there is also a need for HSBC to respect clients time and patience     Needs MAJOR improvement

Im closing my account I just cant take it any more you need a security device password and account password a memorable phrase a phone code a device pin ect Dont log in to many times or you are locked out To reset your device needs to be done during working hours then they email you an activation code in 24 hours good luck maybe in a week keep checking every time I want transfer funds I play this game 4th time already I work in IT and Im very accurate with my input and I uses lastpass so I know my credentials are correct There must be a bug Its infuriating This is a modern banking app with a horrible UX     Zero Stars
