Maps are much more readable in landscape orientation This app doesnt even turn sideways so its easier to zoom in on the maps This app was done with the minimum work necessary to put a bunch of big maps on an iPhone and provide a list of hikes by region Big deal Free is the appropriate price Landscape mode is easy to implement

Great appPark maps are only a 100 but they dont have the info Not quite all the trails

This app is a wealth of information literally at your fingertips from the trail elevation profiles trail maps and trailhead locations to weather climate and sunrisesunset times The trail descriptions are not overly verbose but those can be easily supplemented from other sources You can use this app to get the lay of the land choose the best time of year to go and even decide what time to start your hikes in the mornings I used their other app for the Rocky Mountains to plan a hiking trip last July even used it on the trail once and am using this one to plan the trip we are taking in a couple of weeks Very helpful Another Invaluable Resource

This app excels at providing all the information a person needs to enjoy a day or days on GSMNP trails It is very thorough and easy to usevery well thought out I downloaded all the other apps for the park and I assure you this is the best Better than great
