Guitar Jam Tracks - Scale Trainer & Practice Buddy

What a great way to learn and practice scales and improv on the guitar No it wont take the place of working with other musicians but for just working on training your ears and fingers it is easy and fun Havent picked up any additional styles yet but the ones that come builtin are still pretty awesome              Very cool and tons of fun

This app is laid out very nicely I have been playing for several years and have always wanted to learn more scales All scales are here in both major and minor and easy to read This app is beneficial to players of all skill levels highly recommend                 A great learning tool

Having a lot of fun with this app At first I thought that I had all of the apps resources already but then after playing around with it I realized the value of the backing tracks that are associated with the scales as well as the chords I understand one complaint that it doesnt show the chords or the notes as they are being played in the backing track but it does show the scale and chords that are being played Knowing that allows me to try to create something Thats where the fun comes in Great app                 Fun

Update I found the app this should be and its iReal Pro It has the features I wanted A little clunky and more expensive but not the disappointment this was I got this app hoping it would help me practice improvising over jazz chord progressions I found it to be of little value because For jazz there is only one jam track yes the description says this but its still not enough When the track plays it doesnt show you where you what chord is currently being played The scale presented for jazz is the pentatonic scale which is a simple scale for the blues not a common jazz scale to my mind There are no additional jazz tracks available for addon purchase The scale modulations provided include only ABDDEFG What about B flat which with its two flats is more common than B with its five sharps E flat Etc When I talked with Ninebuzz about the limitations they expressed the opinion that my expectations are not appropriate given how the application is described They have no plans to improve the application that were related to me With some simple changes like the inclusion of just a few more tracks more representative scales and a highlight of the current chord during playback this would be a valuable app Currently I find it not to be worth having and it seems Ninebuzz is unlikely to improve it     So much less than it should be

It seems like more time was spent on graphics and marketing than actual usability Although you can select different keys and backing track styles you CANNOT select tempo which should just be a given when developing this type of learning tool Depending on your ability you may need to start a little slower But a good concept Still not worth the        A good start to what COULD be a good app

Did not do my homework and made a mistaken impulse buy on this app No directions how to use it well The contact us button does not go anywhere and the APP just stumbles with out help Not just a waste that does not have to be but if they supported you it might be a good device but without getting info its sure to end up in the trash or worseunused in your device     Incomplete app frustrating to use

This is a lot of fun Once you learn the scales you can improvise to your hearts content I hope they add more backing tracks in the future Also it would be awesome if they added 12 step pitches since some people tune 12 step down                 A lot of constructive fun

A helpful app to be sure Not really for beginners but if youre just getting your bearings with scalesimprovising this can be a valuable tool That said theres definite room for improvement My first recommendation to the developers is to allow users to change the tempo of the backing tracks As both a programmer and a recording engineer Id argue that it wouldnt be that difficult to implement an update that would make this a possibility Another recommendation I have would be to enable users to design their own chord progressions This might take some time for the developers but I think it would really increase the value of the app Perhaps this could be an addon feature that would cost another few dollars At the very least users should be able to loop segments of the existing chord progressions which in some cases may be too long for some players to follow right away It would be helpful to be able to practice the sections of longer progressions one at a time              Room for improvement

I think this is probably a great app for someone that already has knowledge playing but if u are JUST starting out this app wont really help uu really need to have previous knowledge with the chords and how to read the diagrams otherwise its just confusingI think if there were video clips of the tracks being played it would go a long way to being helpful to a true beginner        Not for REAL beginners

This is a nice app Nice enough for me to write my very first review ever The sound quality is good and you have the different scale shapes and chords available in front of you as you play Its convenient to have the ability to change keys and majorminor on the fly I just wish it had more styles per genre of music not just the major and minor it comes with Maybe even add a way to change tempo Overall nice and full of potential                 Great practice tool

Ive never been more satisfied with an instructional app Its simple approachable interface makes interacting to learn more simple and fun Most apps require the user spend more time learning to use the app than doing what theyre designed to do somehow Ninebuzz developers have bypassed this typical issue Ive never made more progress learning my scales and playing leads as quickly or withas much fun as I have with this simple Approachable app If I had to make any requests I would dearly love to see a gypsy jazz module Mali blues and worldobscure scales                 What Ive always needed
