Awarded Best for Food & Cooking, Evernote Devcup 2013 The only iPhone app that turns Evernote recipes into a grocery list Easy to use: 1. In Evernote, select recipes to be added to the list 2. Tag recipes ...
This app doesnt improve upon manually copypasting ingredients from a recipe note into a separate grocery list note The import parsing is mediocre and requires a lot of curation And while you can edit the aisle or category of an imported item the nameamount cannot be edited So for example if it pulls boneless skinless 3 count for item name and amount respectively you cannot edit the name to chicken breast boneless skinless You can only recategorize under Meats and assume youll remember what it is or create a new item manually Lame It also doesnt collate same items together as promised or even attempt to group them From 11 imported recipes it couldnt once group any of the same ingredients and it didnt always categorize them the same Lastly each item is tagged with its source recipe on the info screen so the data is obviously there But theres no way to sort by recipe instead of category Sloppy data modeling crap programming The only value of this app is in advertising an opportunity for a better programmer     Not worth it
Great concept but its too confusing buggy to be useful at least for my purposes I do a lot of recipe testing and make grocery lists from Evernote but there are so many duplicates and wrong items that I cant trust it Sticking to Pepperplate for recipes ingredients lists now        Great Concept
I dont write many app reviews because most of the time what I want to say has already been said However the very first recipe I tagged with grocerytrip in Evernote showed me how handy this app is Seems like every time I go to the store to get ingredients for a recipe that I stored in Evernote I forget something It happened this thanks giving with a turkey recipe So I raged that one and opened grocery trip and found it parsed that recipe perfectly and made check boxes for each ingredient Very nice                 Great app on first use
I love this app I use it every time I go grocery shopping I wish there was something more to aid in the grocery trip experience More customization too I would hate for this app to not take off I think youre on the right track              Great App
This is an extremely useful app for anyone who uses Evernote to store recipes It works exactly as described I can quickly select recipes tag them and they appear collated and organized in GroceryTrip I can even tag a separate Evernote shopping list allowing me to integrate recipes with other items I need to buy The one thing this app does not do which I have not seen any other app to either is double a recipe A quick workaround is to duplicate the Evernote recipe Then select the duplicate and the original and tag both Grocerytrip will add the ingredients for the original and the duplicate to your shopping list                 Simple and Powerful
I may have a few recipes in my Evernote tagged for grocerytrip but I want to be able only to buy for one of them The app should allow to categorize the shopping list by recipe Other than that it is a great little app              Like it but missing one important thing
Tried this several months back Was not working Tried again today still inop Was a good idea Evernote should take note of apps that dont work makes for bad PR     Not working for me
I have items like olive oil and milk in separate notes in a grocery list evernote folder All with the grocerytrip tag and they dont show up in the app I want my 3 back     App doesnt work for me
Keeps hangingcrashing as it tries to pull all the food words from all the comments When it does launch its grabbed 2094 items from two recipes Dont buy its terrible and if I could return it I would     Not ready for prime time
This app works great Makes a simple checklist for your groceries from your Evernote recipes I use Tagever app to quickly add or remove multiple tags on my recipes and then I use Grocerytrip to generate my shopping list Works like a charm Please keep updating                 Great for Making Grocery List
I used to use this app every week and loved it Something happened and it only displays a third of my grocery list at best now Very sad as I loved this app     Doesnt work anymore
Im using this simply to maintain my shopping list via Evernote and it suits my needs perfectly The only enhancement I can think of is to have a global setting to disable AutoFormat One more thing The icon wont display on either of my iPads I get a white icon with cross hairs Nice job dev              Nicely done
I use evernote every hour most of the day thought this would be a cool app since I use evernote for shopping lists and to store meals I would like to make some day Now when I open evernote it takes me to this app after I authorize it to access Evernote Dont have patience or time to deal with this so I will be removing this app ASAP     Hijacked my Evernote and only cost me 300 dollars
The app itself is great and works exactly as you would want it to However the icon does not show up on my iPad mini and I am stuck staring at the default app icon it looks like a polar graph and sticks out like a sore thumb I have emailed the developer multiple times over the last 6 months and they cannot say more than they know about the problem and it will be fixed in the next version I have had great experiences with some developers who have released a fixed update within a few weeks of being notified of an issue How hard can it be to fix the icon and send out an update           Great app questionable support
This would be a useful app if it worked right and if the interface was a little more cooperative Despite the claim it will NOT properly import things from Evernote particularly if the recipe has been scanned in to Evernote This could be Evernotes fault but the scan I used looked fine in Evernote but generated a lot of garbage in Grocerytrip A recipe downloaded into Evernote from the internet worked a lot better but even then mangled one ingredient Which means that you cant rely on it to get the ingredients right But once it gets the ingredients wrong you are stuck with what it has imported There doesnt seem to be a way to correct the mangle item in Grocerytrip itself Apparently you cant reimport the recipe in the hope of a better result unless maybe you go into Evernote and copy the recipe into a new note You could I suppose check the mangled item as completed then manually enter it to your list Also annoying is that the app does not always actually generate the ingredient list that is it generates it unpredictably Sometimes I open the app tap the button it works Sometimes nothing happens Sometimes when nothing happens I can make it work if I reboot it Sometimes I can make it work by going into settings turning completed on off and then close settings There is no way to clear old recipe items from the app You can hide them but not delete them as far as I can figure out This means that three or four trips from now when you accidentally check off the item for say 12 tsp of tomato paste you have to unhide everything youve ever checked off then hope you can somehow find the right tomato paste item hidden in with tomato paste from previous trips This app seems to only be useful if you dont import ingredients but rather use the Quick Add feature to get a grocery list segregated by the kind of ingredient        Not ready for prime time
Easy integration and works flawlessly                 Great App
