Grim Facade: A Wealth of Betrayal HD - A Hidden Objects Mystery Game

What a great game I never write reviews but after playing BF games for 2yrs nowthis one prompted me to Love it                 Betrayal

The intricate puzzles were amazing Loved it                 Fantastic

Just not crazy about it does have good graphics inventory items are labeled and has a map Sorry LynxMinx I did a review of last game and it never showed up did not care for that one much either Im waiting for Empress 4 Shout out to dream team sorry to here you were in hospital again LynxMinx prayers for you and any one else who needs them           Ok

Could be a 5 star game if you did not gave to keep going back and forth for the next steps There has to be an easier way to get from point A to point B without having to go out of the game           Frustrating

I havent bought this yet but I will Very good iPad game The best I have played                 Fun game

This game was a mixed bag for me I really enjoyed some aspects of the gameplay but finicky game mechanics too few HO scenespuzzles and a soso story made the game less fun than it couldve been Overall though I dont regret buying it The good Objects you collect are used within a reasonable amount of time for the most part so you actually remember where you should go to use them and you dont end up with an inventory totally cluttered with random bits pieces that you have to constantly scroll through Difficulty customization This was probably my favorite feature Rather than just the casual average expert options most games offer you also can tweak all the settings to your liking including how many seconds the hint and skip buttons take to recharge which features arearent indicated by sparkles and being able to turn onoff the black bar tips that appear when you click on an interactive item like if you click a fireplace and you get a little dialog that says I should find a way to put these flames out I love this because I usually like to play on a harder difficulty level but I like the skip button to be available quickly in case I just dont feel like doing a certain puzzle I hope more games do this going forward Not too gorygrosscreepy Dont get me wrongI have fun with the creepier HO games too but after a while it can start to feel like every single game has the same sinister demonghostevil witch lurking around its every dark and cobwebfilled corner Its nice to have a visualmental break from that and see something thats at least a little bit different Linear storygameplay I found this game relatively easy to follow along with and I usually had a good idea of where to use objects because the storysequence of finding objects flowed pretty well I liked that youd work your way through one chapter of the map and then be done with it when you moved into the next chapter of the map rather than constantly running back through every area in the whole game I love when a game is challenging enough that I need to use my brain but also doesnt leave me constantly confused as to what to do next and this one really worked in that sense for me The average The map I liked that it included in interactive map so you didnt have to constantly run back and forth through every scene but like others have said its more helpful when the map tells you if theres an available task in a given location This map just lets you know whether or not youre finished with a particular area Going forward this would be a great option to add to the customization menusometimes the challenge of remembering where I needed to go without the maps help was actually fun so I could see choosing to play this way sometimes but especially if Id put the game down for a while and needed some help remembering what I was doing it was a little annoying to have to go back through every area to refresh my memory Lackluster story The story was okay and made sense without getting overly complicated but it just didnt feel that interesting or immersive to me You dont really get that much information about the characters or at least for me end up caring about them that much I wish they would have been woven into the gameplay more The bad Too often it was hard to figure out exactly where I was supposed to clickplace an object ipad version of the game To clarify I knew where to go to clickplace items but trying to actually placeclick there was difficult There were numerous times where I tried an action and it didnt work so I used the hint buttononly to find out I was doing the right thing I just had to try five or six times to get the object into the exact right spot for it to work I found that really annoying It was also easy to miss some interactive areas for the same reasonIm pretty good about clicking around to make sure I havent missed anything but there were a number of times when I thought I was stuck and either had to use the hint button and was redirected to an area I thought Id searched thoroughly or I just clicked around everywhere to double check and finally found an interactive zone Id missed I play a lot of these games and while its normal to miss a couple of things on your first pass when there are so many little places to click it happened to me a lot more than usual in this game Coupled with my difficulty in placing items I think the clickable or active areas must be smaller in this game than in many of the others and it was annoying enough to knock a star off for me Barely any hidden object puzzles Way fewer than any other HOP game Ive played before The ones included were decent and welllit and each included a couple of interactive objects where you had to first take an action to find the listed item but they were pretty easy and there really just werent enough of them There were very few games in general and the ones that were there were repeated a lot theres a maze game with a bug and a really weird find the differences game where you view two objects under different colors of light to find differences between themI personally hated that one for some reason           Decent but had some problems

I havent played yet but usually agree with the team I will get back to you once I play A note to all reviewers Our team is doing all of you a favor We spend OUR money and give indepth reviews so that your gaming experiences are more positive and favorable As a result we have gotten games on a more regular basis both better in quality as well as quantity We now have fewer glitches and crashes and usually we have teleport maps The games have more interesting twists and better puzzles not just the same tired HO games we used to get So if you dont like our reviews nobody is forcing you to read them Remember we are doing YOU a favor If I sometimes sound sarcastic it is because I like to inject some humor into the situation That is how I review I am a very wellliked and respected individual outside the gaming community and I am not nasty like cash conscious who called us delusional misfits At least we dont personally attack other reviewers At least we have class and feelings towards our fellow reviewers If our team wants to communicate thats our business You dont have to read the shoutouts and wellwishes Moonbeam Dream does not need to be criticized because she uses emoticons and Blueflier deserves our prayers Snooper is a wonderful and caring individual So enough is enough Note to Sunshine Susie you are a fabulous and painstaking reviewer There is a place on our team if you should so like it Anyway after playing I am keeping it at 4 stars The game had beautiful graphics a nonspoiler hint system labeled inventory and a teleport map The map was actually not all that helpful because it didnt tell you whether there were tasks to be done so you still had to run around a lot The load time between locations wasnt quite instantaneous The game was still a bit short even with bonus gameplay I liked the HO scenes because there were variations and not just word lists You had a choice to play mahjong as well The zoom feature worked well There could have been more puzzles and games and some were repetitive However the gameplay was smooth and the game was not glitchy considering that most games from ERS usually have problems I think this was a good game but not as good as others in the series I would still like a sequel because the series takes place in Europe and brings back many memories Note to Cyndeetrek I was right You did grow up with RATS albeit willingly I myself prefer adorable and cuddly animals such as the gorgeous French poodle I had as a child Big shout out to the whole team Thanx for the heads up Snooper I will still attempt the Dana Knightstone game because I really like the series I wish all reviewers except cash conscious more like cheap a very happy and healthy holiday and New Year Never call my team delusional misfits again or I will personally rip you a new youknowwhat              Grim Facade Wealth of Betrayal by LynxMinx

This game is enjoyable Ive played through the free part no HOPs yet though I mainly play these games for HOP not puzzles                 Fun game

Its a bit boring and the graphics are not the best and some games dont have the reset buttonbut I bought it anyway just because there was nothing new to playI gave it 3 stars for a nice map with the popping out picturesalso there is a very cute little bull pet bull and you collect the butterflies to convert them afterwords to some sort of money which you spend on a different cute staff for that bull Oh and you can also choose to play Majong if you get bored with your HOS           Its OK

It was nice to play a HOAG that wasnt about someone in a sanitarium lol Some of those are great but I like games about fairy tales and legends as well I also like finding collectables and the butterflies were a nice touch I think the story line was pretty good As always Grim Facade always has beautiful graphics I did not like the bug mazes lol              Fun and Interesting

I just played the free portion and Im unlocking the rest Its a fun game no glitches so far I love big fish games and this one doesnt disappoint                 Great game

Grim Facade A Wealth of Betrayal surprised me by the quality of this game I thought the premise sounded a bit hohum a headless knight searching for his lost sword and a bullfight So what But each step of this game drew me in a bit more There is a Diary and a good Strategy Guide which I have used more than once The Teleporting Map works well and updates itself as you move through the chapters eliminating locations you have completed Some of the Hidden Object scenes require you to complete actions before objects become visible Others are more straightforward The puzzles range from Find the Lever to matching up parts of room keys until they match keyholes You are a detective trying to save poor Rosa Someone is using her to anger the Knight who threatens to burn down the town Some of the actions seem a bit disjointed but the Hint button is excellent and takes you right to the action I love the addition of the sneaky street vendor selling needed items from inside his trench coat This is a well crafted game and well worth the sale price Playing Grim Facade will be a welcome respite in a busy holiday season                 Grim Facade A Wealth of Betrayal is Rich Fun

The voices sound like card readers Monotone and no apparent acting skills Story rather boring Nothing that leaves you anticipating the next clue It read as a game I thought looked good but now wished I hadnt spent so much Good game for a beginner        Its ok

So back on the case detective Blueflier is off to find out just whats going on in Spain and all the mysterious happenings with the nasty headless knight and that poor city Wow The señora is a dead ringer for Penelope Cruz doncha think Oh yes the review I feel like Seinfeld but here goes Have you ever played a game that has all the right stuff its got the voice overs and the graphics it has a fairly well constructed storyline its got interesting characters to interact with and a plethora of puzzles of different sortseven the HOPs are different but it just doesnt seem to rock your boat Thats how I feel about this game First of all Im not a big fan of bullfights and to be fair theres not much of actual bullfighting But whats wrong The map is teleporting but it doesnt give you any idea if there is something to do there other than to transport you or tell you where is are The hints are less than helpful for the most part especially if you arent quite sure what to do or where to gowhich is when a hint would be helpful non Some of the ingame comments try to be funny but they fall flat The mystery is a good one but the story is extremely linearyou have to play the game In the exact order the devs want you to so theres quite a bit of toing and froing and screen touching with no response but later on the same place is active There are no reset buttons on the games which is very frustrating And the last peeve is that I kept hitting the button strategy guide when I wanted to go back a scene or when I was looking for hidden objects Grrrr I feel like Im being very generous giving it 4 stars but Im doing so on the technical merits vs my own likability I think its more of a 35 star game So while it does have all the fundamentalsI just didnt like it very much Thanks as always to the reviewers and Dream Team Hope you are all enjoying gaming and life On the upside I see theres a Diana Knightstone out for iPad so thats next on my listhoping its like the first two of the series which I loved Until the next reviewadios amigos And live and let live              Betrayal all the right stuff but

I was ready to drop this whole thing and move on to what we are really supposed to be doing here but after reading that you LM think you have singlehandedly changed the way BF has constructed games including adding maps I had to respond You act as if you are the game developer yourself when in reality you are no different than any other customer who buys and plays these games and then writes reviews and when felt the need makes suggestions or critiques to the developer within the review All of us spend our money just the same as you do on these games no more and no less so how are you doing this forum more of a favor than all of us reviewers that do the same thing If thats what you truly believe then please dont do us anymore favors you can keep your money and your non review reviews along with your medical and familial dramas and your animal phobias I promise you we would all survive some of us would be relieved and Im positive Big Fish Games would not crumble without your input or your money Once again youve come to the review forum and rated a game that you havent even played yet and have no review for which is exactly what people have been complaining about There are dozens of ways to choose from to keep in touch with your friends but a game review forum is not one of them The complaints have never been about anyones reviews and as a gamer I appreciate everyone that takes a moment out of their day to come here and give a real review If this is still too complicated to understand then take a moment to consider what this forum would look like if everyone single person here used their review as a messaging board to friends instead of giving a game review Or if everyone randomly picked a number and rated a game that they havent even played yet That isnt fair to anyone including the game developers Its very simple review away but please take all of the other bs somewhere else Now on to whats really importantThis game was a very good addition to the series The storyline voice overs and graphics were all topnotch There were multiple types of HOS but I do wish there were more of them in the game overall The minigames were fun with some types I havent seen before and there was a skip button if needed the delay time of course depending on what difficulty level the game is played on There were extra items butterflies to search for throughout the game which I find I really miss when games dont include them The hint system was helpful and actually opened a teleport to take you where you need to go There was also a integrated map that could be used for fast travel The strategy guide is off site as usual but still a good resource when needed The game itself was a good length and the bonus chapter although wasnt as long as some it was still not bad Overall this was a good game that may even get a replay from me in the future Happy gaming                 It Shouldnt Be This Hard To Understand

The game froze up when I was trying to get the fourth skull outside the arena The glove is barely visible and cannot be accessed to grab the skull Seriously BF this glitch is present so long after game release     Grim Game

This hits an all time low as far as interest The hidden object games are far and few between And they are not the complicated hidden object games that are the standard You collect a lot of things that you have no idea of what to do with until you ask the hint I would definitely would not recommend this game It is a real disappointment even at only 499        Boring not really intuitive

Although I am not the person who used the term delusional I have also complained about some of the ridiculous comments on this review site I think the term delusional is mainly referring to the person with the initials LM Please look at this persons last five posts and I think it will become more clear as to why people feel the way they do Make sure not to miss the post on echoes of the past its a real zinger This not some shut in that requires empathy This is truly a nut case that thinks they are single handedly responsible for a large portion of big fishes sales based on their reviewsthis is the person that rates a game one star because there is a mouse in it The people that deserve empathy are the hard working folks that get the work bashed because of some nut job that has ten other people looking for mice in the games for her so she can pitch a fit THAT is truly delusional I hope all of the dream team looks at all of LMs past post and come to the conclusion that this person is simply making a fool out of all of them I will say that most of them give the best reviewsbut I cant understand how anyone can get sucked into this persons kookie world Now to the game This is a perfectly wonderful game with all the things people look formap labeled inventory etc And I wont say if there is a mouse in it              Regarding dream team comment

I am surprised at how short the game is It is a good game but a lot of running back and forth the interactive maps speeds this up and I just didnt feel as immersed in this game as some of the others Ive played recently I also found it disruptive that an ad to rate the game popped up continuously Overall a fun short game and I am looking forward to the next one in this series              Fun but short

Not bad but doesnt altogether blow my skirt up Teleporting map does not indicate if there is work to do at a given site just whether you are done with it HO scenes were not as plentiful as I think they should be in a game advertised as hidden object and once again there were some odd names for items Silly me not to realize a clove was supposed to look like a carnation Huh The hidden objects were at least well lit and zoom is available but they ended up being a bit too easy for my taste Some of the other puzzles lack a reset button Fortunately the crawly bug mazesliding tile puzzles do have the reset Those got progressively harder Even with help from the strategy guide I gave up and skipped the last couple because I just didnt get the function of the different tiles Very challenging SPOILER ALERT stop reading if you havent finished the bonus game Despite all the ghost talk clue do ghosts leave footprints it turned out that there was no ghost See you can tell a story without supernatural elements One for us cranky old freethinkers yay OTOH the game was just not as engaging as say Dire Grove Sacred Grove which is all about forest spirits Sigh Am I glad I bought the game Yes But I am also glad I got it on sale Its holiday time so I will be generous and give four stars              Average but with redemption

Like the game but I am going from one place to another getting clues but not the objects needed Started it twice and finally slowly moving forward           difficult to navigate
