This app surprised me by doing a fairly decent job of extracting subjects from backgrounds But there are a few caveats and the biggest is that the subject and background need to be pretty clearly differentiated Otherwise the app struggles Although with more careful defining of background and subject it did a pretty good job even then I started with an image of a couple holding hands walking down a city street The background was complex and using a single swipe like the sample images show resulted in a selection of the couple that was literally not much wider than the red line itself Well thats when I learned that you need more than just a few swipes to select what youre after In fact it tok about 5 minutes worth of swiping and erasing to get a good selection but once I did the result was pretty good I say pretty good because one drawback is that this app currently lacks the ability to zoom in on your image to get really precise detail So in this casethe area between the legs was not cut out because I couldnt zoom enough to exclude it My second image was more basic a group of red strawberries with green tops placed on a creamcolored plate Needless to say the app did a great job of selecting the fruit from the background and required only minor touchups Granted the contrast was much greater and that made for a much simpler load for the app to figure out But if you have welldefined subjects this app has the ability to do what earlier versions of Photoshop did for less than 2 dollars Yes theres no ability to Refine Edges or feather your selection but hey what do you expect for 199 The app also is in need of a simple Back button to return to selecting after youve looked at your result and decided it needs more finetuning At first it seemed like Id have to start from scratch but if you touch the image it will return to where you were complete with all your selection swipes intact But its not intuitive Users need to know they can get back to where they were without having to fiddle with the app on their own A choice of buttons which said Finished or Go Back would be nice Also the app allows you to change the output quality to High but this should be set to best quality by default It should be assumed that people who are interested in an app like this which is all about using layers and PNG files care about having the best quality for their pictures In the settings tab there is also a list of other apps made by this Developer but I appreciated that youre not hit over the head with advertisements It was subtle and tasteful which is getting pretty rare these days Overall this app is pretty good at what it does If they add a few simple upgrades it should be a useful tool especially if your needs arent too demanding Or if they eventually add the ability to zoom in if youre willing to give it more time to get more precise Then this will be a great little tool for collage artists and those who love to layer their images           Actually Works Pretty Well With Clearly Defined Subjects
