German English Dictionary & Translator

I have the icon for this dictionary on the customizable bottom row of my iPad since I use it all the time Its accurate and easy to use and even has voice pronunciation I have other dictionaries but this is the one I use Highly recommended                 Indispensable

I love this dictionary I would live to see words returned with their plural form as well And would pay for an expansion of example usage But Ive used lots of dictionaries online and this is my favorite so far Very easy interface I think the google translate is a little buggy Sometimes throws an error              Love it would love to see

Ive been using Bitknights dictionaries for years French Spanish German and theyre great the Apple Watch App takes more than 30 seconds at times making it useless 5 stars once this is sped up until then iTranslates app is faster and supports every language I care about Also every language now uses the same blue icon making it a bit slower to find the Lang I want           Apple Watch app needs help Why all the blue icons

After forty years of limited use I am refreshing my German My Iphone dictionary is my righthandman in this effort It rarely fails me                 Excellent resource

This app is fantastic as a reading companion to German web sites Its easy to use very fast and extremely handy to have It does occasionally fail to find a word Im looking for but very seldom It also usually provides context sentences which are very helpful for words that carry multiple nuances                 Simple quick useful

A student first showed me an earlier version of this dictionary two years ago since then it has become our standard classroom EnglishGerman GermanEnglish dictionary Through all revisions and updates it has worked flawlessly on my iPad 2 and on many different student idevices                 Ausgezeichnet geil

Love this app as does my husband He spoke German as a child and finds this helpful for words he doesnt remember Im learning German and especially like the voice feature that helps with speaking the word correctly No longer take a dictionary with us when we head to Germany But they have changed the speed of the voice and now even at the slowest speed its way toooooooooo fast                 Scrabbledeb

This app is really just what I need when Im searching for a word either the English to German or vice versa I use it almost daily and find it helps me expand my vocabulary too Just wish synonyms were included too              Perfect and handy for quick reference

Purchased the dictionaries as a package with other languages which i thought was a good deal but too many of the useful features need to be purchased at high prices Otherwise a very good dictionary that my German friends say are mostly accurate           Too many extra costs

It has all the words youll need to get around in German The translator function requires Internet access but the rest can be accessed offline Its worth the price              Nice app

I use this app constantly on my visits to Germany and not only is the offline ability to use it crucially helpful but also I appreciate the associatedvariant uses of words in phrases and contexts with each definition Sometimes compound words are missing because German as actually spoken is made up of so many compounds of other words these cases are usually solved by searching for the constituent parts of the compounds Great super helpful app                 Very helpful app for offline use

I love this app and have been using it for about a year now My only concern is bug issues using the Google phrase translation portion of the app              Most useful dictionary app

I have been using this dictionary for about four years I find it to be easy to use and has been very helpful to me in many instances It has updates that keep it on track with modern usage but I can usually find more obscure words too                 Kiki Anne

This is an ok dictionary with a decent sized listing But without Noun Plurals it simply is not very valuable not even for free which it isnt     Nothing special here

I have purchased several GermanEnglish translators which are not nearly as good as this app Use it every day Never any problem                 Great app

I like this dictionary It does both English to German and German to English and pronounces the words It shows common phrases with the word you are looking for and even translates sentences On the downside The voice is a computer and so is not as clear as a human would be And the google sentence translator is often not so accurate the Bing one seems better Occasionally there are seemingly meaningless dictionary entries but overall for the price it is very good I use it all the time              A great help

this is a fantastic german English dictionary i live in Germany and it has never failed me very comprehensive its worth paying for if you are studying German or visiting Germany                 love this app

Great Ive been using it for years Each version gets better and better with more useful features The best dictionary app I highly recommend it I use it constantly Best part is that it is offline Makes for a great reading companion if you read in a second language Allows you to make a favorite list of words that can be downloaded to a cvs file a lot of flash card programs will import these lists                 Great app

Overall I think that this is a very useful and easy to use dictionary It is well supported by the company and is subject to regular upgrades that improve the usability of the dictionary I have used this software for close to 4 years and there are a few issues that I would mention One is that some of the English phrases are very strange and are not used at all in American English Perhaps some of these phrases are more common elsewhere in the English speaking world but some certainly sound like direct machine translations from German Even so this reduces my confidence in the German phrases provided and I feel the need to run more complex phrases in the dictionary by my German friends before I incorporate it into my own usage Also occasionally I find a commonly used German word that is not present in the dictionary This is not terribly common though If I were to provide any constructive feedback to the makers of this dictionary I would recommend the following one include the singular and plural forms of nouns in the same entry Sometimes one or the other is completely absent from the dictionary Second I would love to see conjugation provided for verbs Currently I use the program German Verb Conjugation by Ian Tipton for this purpose Overall this is a good program but I frequently feel the need to verify definitions with a native German speaker and the dictionary is less comprehensive than I would like           Nice software

Got this app as part of the 3 pack Works great and as mentioned elsewhere you can use it offline which is quite helpful The voice features alone are worth the price of admission                 Very useful app
