This app is a joke It works for a month or two then it just stops No calls no texts nothing This app needs an update My son used to use this one day it just stopped working Fix this     Awful

This latest version v126 works fine on my iPhone 5 however on my iphone 4 and iphone 4S it is unusable It opens and crashes before you can do anything I copied by means of syncing v125 from an iPhone 4 which worked fie to iTunes first I needed to delete the FreedomPop app that was already in iTunes I took the iPhone that had the newest version V126 deleted the FreedomPop app from the phone and then synced it with iTunes which had 125 and dragged the icon of the app in iTunes over to the phone and I was very happy to find that I could now use the FreedomPop app again Very important DO NOT tap Update All when you are updating your apps in the app store application because you will end up updating the FreedomPop app that you will have downgraded in order to make it work again If you do inadvertently update it simply delete it from the phone and connect to iTunes and drag the app icon from iTunes to the phone to reinstall the old version of the app back onto your phone As many reviewers have commented for FREE it feels wrong to complain but we need FreedomPop to get this app fixed properly once and for all If we do not make them aware of the problems they cant fix them Probably the testers of the app are running iPhone 5 or iPhone 6 and do not test the app on iPhone 4 or the iPhone4S                 FIVE STARS if you go back to version V125 or V123

Cant receive picture messages ppl send me with a text If they jut sent the picture I revive it but if thy send it with any text I just get the text and not the pic           SMS error

Tired of paying an outrageous amount for your phone bill I already had a sprint phone so I started using FreedomPop and try to use wifi every chance I get and now my phone bill is 0month 200min 500text 500mb data each month for free Always free when communicating with other FreedomPop numbers                 Savior

The app works great with freedompop although itd be nice to use the native iPhone apps Its pretty good for being a free network but can be hard to make calls and text since you need to have cellular data when away from wifi to make the calls not just reception              App works great

This app pointlessly requires iOS 71 even though it doesnt require any iOS 71 specific features Not everyone wants to downgrade from iOS 6 to iOS 789lazy devs     POINTLESSLY REQUIRES IOS 71

When I updated the app I lost all my texts And when I get a text sometimes it doesnt tell my who its from it just shows their number The only thing I like is all the data I get for free        I lost all my texts again

I have an iphone 4s with ios 841 and I have tried everything with this application restarting and having only the cell signal with wifi off restart with only wifi turn it on etc At the end the application always crashes When calling from another phone the application ring but I cannot answer the call Please fix this it is unusable     cannot use this

I purchased an iPhone 5 thru Freedompop and have their 1gb plan so this review includes both the service and this app Pros cheap or free calling cheap service w data Sprint network Cons Sprint network wifi call performance is terrible and laggy with poor echo cancellation My Calls are improved by disabling wifi on phone so it stays on cellular data iPhone integration is broken safari and contacts attempt to launch the iPhone app but that does not function with the FreedomPop service which is data only So I find myself needing to manually copy phone numbers from websites to paste into the Freedompop dialer all the time Extra steps Extra frustrations iPhone iMessage does not function You have to use the Freedompop app which only supports free outgoing pictures incoming are dropped without notice dial tone generator RARELY works with automated phone systems It seems the tone is generated too short or with insufficient fidelity for most systems to recognize Holding the keys longer has no effect phone app only works when within strong 3G or LTE areas and in general underperforms apples FaceTime app in the same cell signal area So if youre like me and really just need a cheap data plan this is a decent deal but dont expect the Freedompop app or plan to act like a real phone because it has way too many quality issues still Also beware of automatic enrollment of free stuff for first month if youre on their plan     Seriously not very good

UPDATE 127 Seems to me like the bugs they fixed are actually bugs they introduced My messaging is all messed up nowwhen I try to write a new message the text box moves to the middle of the screen and hardly lets me do anything UPDATE 126 Please change back the menutraversing animation so that when you click Back it slides back instead of forward Minor thing I know but every time it is throwing me off Haha UPDATE 124 With the new update I cant even answer or place calls The app completely freezes up my phone when I try to call someone Also the Bluetooth audio options seems to be a problem it wont play through the normal ear speaker Rating lowered to 2 stars because of this new calling issue Please fix it soon FP UPDATE 123 So it looks like they finally actually might have solved the issue of some texts coming in blank Although I havent had a chance to test it with texts from many different carriers it is working fine so far I will update this review when I have more info One thing that is slightly obnoxious now is that my phone has a spasm every time somebody sends a long text Because FP splits long texts into multiple shorter texts at least from the phone I was testing with my phone vibrates for every small text Sometimes it even vibrates twice once to tell me I have a text from a certain phone and one to show me the actual content of the text Not a big deal but still a small annoyance I really only care about actually being able to see texts now With the newest update v122 I have a few suggestions complaints The text in texts is a little bit too small It also looks kinda weird now that it is smaller because it doesnt fit the text bubbles as well Also if you scroll or anything the name doesnt come back Im guessing they were trying to give some extra screen real estate here but it would be nice if they made it like most other apps where the namemenu thing comes back when you start scrolling down In general I would really like to see the messaging screen updated so that we would be able to see contact info and not just the name at the top For example if I have somebody with two numbers it would be nice to be able to tell which number I am texting to straight from the messaging screen Overall FP has been making some progress in improving the app which is nice to see Although slowly it is better than nothing And hey you cant beat the price        Review for the app not service

I dont get why some people have such trouble with FreedomPop As long as you read the fine print and know what youre doing you can get actual free service or very affordable monthly plans for additional features I like this free FreedomPop app but it could use a few improvements Most importantly Id like to be able to choose my own ringtones and text tones for call text notifications within the app The iPhone sound notification settings only apply to the built in Phone and iMessage apps Id also like to have the ability to change the background wallpaper on the FreedomPop texting portion of the app to my own picture or at least some built in ones to choose from Also for some reason when on wifi the app takes several seconds to register you cant answer a call until it registers so you either need to keep the app running in the multitasking to keep it registered to switch to LTE where it seems to register instantly when you first open the app I did have a situation where I got a phone call like 10 minutes after it was placed but if I call someone it works fine and other times it picks up incoming calls just fine its just odd how it will stop ringing occasionally and then resume when you click on the notification to be able to answer the call In my case I get a good signal so my call quality is always very good If yours isnt you can always buy their very affordable premium voice plan which will solve poor call quality but I wonder if it would solve the issue where I got the call after it was placed and if it would still use the FreedomPop dialer or the Phone app which would fix the time it takes for the FreedomPop app to register before you can answer the call I would really like to see those added tone and wallpaper customization features added into the app even if it was only in a separate paid app version I love the FreedomPop service and hope the app continues to get better to best utilize their great and free service on my iPhone              Good Service But the App Could Be Better

I updated to this version but it cannot run on my iPhone 4s iOS84 at all How can I downgrade to the old version     It cannot run at all

Review for V127 Same problem as V126 crashes before fully loaded on iphone 4 4S I urge Freedompop to make V124 available independently for the many iphone 4 4Ss out there because right now there is not a working version of this app available for these older devices Was working fairly nicely up until the last update Now it almost loads and crashes Sticking with other VoIP apps to make my calls I still love you FreedomPop its just not working out between us right now I thought one of my iPhones was having a problem but nope all of them after the last update crashes every time without even loading up     Keeps getting better then bombs

It took months I quit trying for a few months of resetting redownloading and reupdating before I finally got it to work I never thought Id see the day it would work The app crashed a lot too back then But once I got it working the call quality was great I made an international call on the free Global 100 plan and it was crystal clear In my case giving it one last chance before I quit for good paid off              Call quality is great once you get it working

App is extremely glitchy Missed calls and textor would take 2030min to get app crashes all the time Contacts doesnt merge well with apple contactscontacts missing and crashes often About the only thing I can say good about FreedomPop is that its cheap     Horrible app and service

Im still getting used to it You do have to figure out how to text The different icons for text call and favorites I think are there next to the names in the contact list they dont do anything as far as tapping them and having it take you to the feature I mean it didnt take me too long but I had to do a couple laps first 92515 Update This is a really good service As soon as I can I will get the paid service I have another app that also is free text are unlimited inboundcalls are unlimited and you get 10min outbound you can buy minutes or earn them by watching videos which gives the fewest but are very easy But even though I hear clearly everyone I talk to hears their voice echo Freedom Pop is clear on both ends It really makes a difference to have clear no echo when talking It frustrates the person you are talking with                 Very pleased

In my house I dont have Sprint coverage so I have tip use my home WiFi Sometimes I can actually place calls but most of the time the call either times out out encounters an IO error This makes the service useless to me due to the unreliability of connections Ive spent hours trying to fix the problem and cant believe me if you plan to use phone over WiFi look elsewhere its not worth the time and frustration     Unreliable on WiFi
