Focuswill is a new neuroscience based music subscription service that helps increase your attention span up to 400% when working, studying, writing and reading. It s for anyone who needs to be productive on demand when ...
The music seems to work but the app doesnt The music randomly stops playing and you have to restart it Its very very annoying I quickly stopped using it It should have been fixed by now     Music stops playing all the time
You cost more than spotify I get the idea behind your app Its a good idea and it could probably make you some decent cash if you renamed the app to something more original and rethought how you go about making money The fact of the matter is this app is going to stay hidden from the public until those two issues are addressed No one in their right mind is going to pay more than they would pay for something infinitely more useful such as Pandora or Spotify Each of those programs have music playlists that is catered to individuals who need to focus The fact that yours is developed by neuroscientists doesnt really matter Its like boasting that your app plays all music as lossless FLAC Nobody cares about that They only care if it works The only way you can expect the prices youre charging is if what youre offering was unique but its not I can pay 5 a month and get playlists to study to yet I can also listen to every single album from all of my favorite artists This is coming from someone who makes decent money Im not hurting for cash Im just not careless with it either     6mo 200life K
I use this software almost daily for background music while dictating and studying It is stimulating without being distractingI paid for the yr well worth the cost of a latte each month for something I use several days weekly Would like to see more tunes added to cinematic                 Works great
I am able to focus more on tasks that I work on but an app Timeout error keeps the app from functioning for more than 20 or 30 minutes at a time which is a bit frustrating        Seems like a useful app but is still buggy
After 30 days it logs you out asking for Not robust enough for the expensive subscription Was better when there was a limited beta version available Free alternatives available at music streaming sites     Not Worth The
The app has been unreliable after the last upgrade Music keeps skipping to the point of being unusable Works fine from the website        Needs Some Work
Focus at will is about the best app Ive ever downloaded Its always worked and the company is incredibly responsive on social media I started using this app on the recommendation of a friend while writing my thesis It helped me focus on my writing so well there would be extended periods where I forgot music was playing and was completely able to concentrate on my writing Thats no less than magical Ive bought many apps that I seldom end up using This is not them This app is THE bet app Ive ever downloaded Inexpensive and yet such a productivity boost                 Truly THE Best
This actually works Its an indispensable tool in our noisy world                 Truly a terrific tool
So let me start by saying Ive really enjoyed the app and the service during my free trial That said the price is utterly outrageous for what it is 6 a month or 50 a year for a handful of options many of which are in beta There are tons of free streaming stations that admittedly arent as good but are entirely free and I can do spotify and have access to millions more tracks than this for a few bucks more Did they actually do any market research in setting that price I think they could have a real winner here if they dropped the price significantly              Great service app too bad about the price
I get distracted easily This app allows me to stay more on task                 Great study tool
Room noise eliminator and hyper focus tuneriner Dream come true One of my cant live without apps                 Magic
Application requires downloading and streaming every track Not useful when data is not readily available     Good idea crippled by crappy app wrapper
For a while this was free I paid them for a few months because I liked what they were doing I didnt think it was a good value so I quit paying Apparently in the past few months they decided to restrict free play and now the app is completely worthless Its a bad business model and junk science I would never pay for this again     Nothing Special
Update it seems like some of the old bugs with this app are coming back I usually have to touch the startplay button several times to get it to work and it is still not cooperating with the base IOS lockout settings I hope the development team is still working on updates and bug fixes because I would really like to keep using this app I really wish I had had this app in grad school It really does work The variety of music choices give you options depending on what level of focus you need They still have a few bugs to work out notably the inability to engage the lockout from the iOS However I highly recommend it regardless              Loving itmostly
This would be a 5 star app if it did not randomly stop playing music and then continue to load until you shut it down and start the app again Please get this fixed           Great app but
This is an awesome app It really works When I need to focus and get some work done I turn it on and am really able to focus Although I have ADD I find that the acoustic version works well for me I recently purchased the paid version but really havent explored the additional venues                 Awesome app
I love this app however it is causing more frustration than anything currently as the tracks keep skipping or times out Having to stop what Im doing to try and get the app to work defeats the entire purpose of using it When Im paying a monthly fee to subscribe I expect it to work If this spotty service continues I will discontinue my subscription When it works it is EXTREEMLY helpful and it assists me in focusing and getting things done at work Please fix these bugs           When it works its great
Revised My old review is below The app has only gotten worse with time and now theyre trying to charge for this bugridden mess after a trial period used to be free for basic features now its disguised as a freemium app I cant recommend that anyone pay money for this or support these shifty developers who consistently ignore user feedback downplay constant errors write up fake reviews and now market a paid app as a free one Avoid Old review This app legitimately aids my focuswhen its not distracting me to the point of rage with its crashes and failures to launch The current version is highly unstable and needs to be fixed before this app is useful again Freezes indefinitely at the loading screen just about every time     Great idea horrible execution
I purchased the Pro version about six week ago and noticed right away that the program froze and stopped playing songs after 5 minutes or so forcing me to manually tap the stop button and then restart which totally disrupts my focus Contacted customer service they were friendly and did their best to resolve the issues but ultimately had to cancel my Pro subscription I love concept and will definitely try the app again once the bugs are ironed out           Great concept functionality still needs work
My focus explodes when i use this app I love it Truly do Thats why this will sound like a backhanded compliment I love it but i miss my music Let me explain Im most distractible all else being equal when Im NOT listening to any form of music Music has always been a part of my work routineand I LOVE MUSIC I like picking out artists that fit my mood etc I listened to a podcast which introduced me to this app and during the podcast they mentioned that its essential to listen to wordless music Intrigued i signed up for the trial For my particular version of crazy yours may be different this assertion proves absolutely true Ive tried because i miss it to go back to listening to my favorite music while working and ive had to face the music couldnt resist that i work a lot better with the wordless music provided by this app AWESOME work Many thanks                 I love it I miss my music
Love this app Keep improving it              Almost perfect
This has helped me focus at work though I wish the app would be fixed up a bit It freezes and shuts down often           Great but app needs work
It works                 I use it every day
MusicSound is constantly stopping for no reason I have to repeatedly keep coming back to the app to hit play again Transitions between screen are slow The loading spinner is annoying and ugly For a focus application this app is very distracting     Buggy and Slow
Focuswill streams music to help you get in the zone and focus The service itself is fantastic Ive been struggling for months to find music I can use to block out ambient distractions in my environment and Focuswills Classical streaming station fits the bill I listen for most of the day almost every day However the iOS app itself is horrible Its buggy sometimes I have to press the play button 23 times before the station starts playing I also really dont need a Productivity Tracker thats subjective anyway Just as I was writing this I got a Timeout Error notification just another bug           Great service poor app
I use this constantly and it helps me get right into the zone when Im working I also like it for just having on in the background as white noise when Im doing mundane tasks or meditating I havent noticed any bugginess with my iPad but I have an older model with OS 613                 Love this app
Love it Wish the full version was not so expensive                 Great App
Ive enjoyed using this app for some time now but this latest version has issues Basically after one or two songs the audio just stops but it shows to be playing and it shows no indication that it is buffering or having other network issues The only way to get it to play another song is to tap the stop button and then tap the play button which starts out on a new song and breaks my concentration I would have happily sent them feedback instead of a negative review but the app doesnt have a feedback form        Problems in this version
I am at the end of my free trial andwow I have major anxiety and ADHDADD I have so many ideas and it is always a struggle to stick to an idea and develop it ie writing papers This along with timers has really decreased that struggle I also live with my mother I am a young adult who talks out of anxiety incessantly and I play this when she stifles me with her repetitive ramblings to drown her out and to selfsoothe myself What is surprising to me is that normally classical music makes me fidgety but here I can enjoy its beauty with out anxiety This really makes me want to research the scientific research behind this app because whatever they have modified in the classical music works for me I believe they have modified the classical music but have yet to do a sidebyside comparison to other sources of the tracks so this is not definitive Also the ADHD mode the primary mode I use is music with a fast tempo which is a surprise for me but has been the key It lets me ride out the wave of ny anxieties and discursiveness With this app I have access to a retreat in the palm of my hands in the middle of a squirmy noisy lively icky golden city this app is my homebase among this flitting inconsistent city And more profoundly it overthrows the flitting inconsistency of my mind normally reigned by rumination and anxiety Some unique features an option among three different intensity modes for each type of music and a cinematic mode never thought of this as a possible music genre but when you hear it you will see that it is mot juste Now this would get 5 stars IF it had an offline mode I live in a huge noisy city and would love to use this while on the subway where I spend a good 10 of my outandabout waking life Thank you focuswill              Lifesaver No offlinemode is its only flaw
I love Focuswill but this new version DOES NOT WORK on my old iPad 1 which I use just for music App screen vanishes right after I launch cant get in If it works on your device free trial available use it I gave it 5 stars when it worked Ive spent too much time trying to get just the right playlist or Pandora station for work but I always got distracted or bored This beat everything I tried        Inspired beats Pandora and Playlists
Glad I discovered it happy to pay for it Hoping it gets better in the several ways mentioned here already Whether or not the science is right on it seems to work for me I use it mostly on the web on my laptops There a fullscreen photo stream would be very nice as would a Chrome packaged app discrete window Ive asked the developer in their GetSatisfaction forums to please consider these and other features to take this idea from very good to great Its a small shop so I think changes will happen only gradually                 Worth it so far
I could not sign up via Facebook no matter how much I tried even after reinstalling and resetting the apps access in FB The spinner just get spinning None of my other apps has a problem with FB authentication so I dont think its my iPad I finally got set up through my google account The developer might want to check on this since the app was just featured in Mashable Once it finally launched I found the music pleasing aside from ADHD beta I can see this app being beneficial for concentration A couple things that might inspire user confidence cant the picture be hi def or is that a paid option And how about more frequent updates September 2013 was a long time ago           Interesting concept some glitches though
I am a software engineer with severe ADHD not that unusual in my profession I love those times when I get in the zone while developing software though due to my ADHD they are not as often as I would like Enter Focuswill I have always used music in the past to help me concentrate But it wasnt always effective either due to radio commercials hearing the same song over again from my own collection or some other thing With focuswill and the research done by the company behind the app I now have access to music specifically selected for the ability to help with concentration without any interruptions IT REALLY WORKS It is worth every cent and then some I really like the research behind the app and how it helps me get in the zone much more often Because of that the app and the service behind it you can also use a desktop web browser this is the most valuable app and service I have purchased There were initial problems with earlier versions of the app but the latest works great with my iPhone 4s The 9 rating assigned the app for mild language violence etc is absurd Even if you dont get the app try their website Regardless it is great music especially if you like instrumental classical or similar music                 ADHD Software Engineer
This definitely helps me focus but the constant stopping and skipping is distracting which kind if defeats the purpose This is not inexpensive so I find this disappointing Fix this and Ill be happy           Music stops and skips
This is the breakthrough productivity app I was looking for I get so much more done now                 Love it
Love the music love the science love the concept The app simply does not work How can too get flow when it stops crashes and fails to load Seriously this is embarrassingly bad     Unstable app
Update still very limited choices This app is awesome the first few months then once you notice the same pieces over and over again it does the exact opposite of what its intended to do ie it becomes distracting Im noticing the same pieces over and over again especially on the Alpha Chill channel which works for me even with a paid 529 per month subscription We need another station closer to Alpha Chill as well Im not sure 6348 per year is worth it after several months of being a subscriber There is also a very noticeable lag time playing and skipping songs Other than that the app is well thought out Ill give it another month or two        Paid subscribers need more choices
For the app itself I would probably give 4 stars however once the Free Trial runs out you get locked out of the App entirely hence the 2 star rating I feel that the monthlyyearly subscription pricing structure is unreasonable I like the App but not at that price I like the App enough that I would probably pay for it but not on a subscription I think there needs to be a basic level where you can pay a very minimal once off fee and have access to maybe 1 or 2 channels preferably you can select the channels that worked best for you and lock them in after the free trial period I will be deleting this App now since it is completely useless without a subscription Shame        Good App Lousy Pricing Structure
Similar apps range from a one time payment of 99 to 599 which includes free updates for life This app is 50 a year Huge SCAM to play the same 10 music track over and over     A subscription model really
I use it every day                 Great
This app helped me in several ways I used it while studying for my senior year finals and aced them all And then it helped me while brainstorming for my own mobile app start up                 HIGHLY RECOMMEND
One of my friend was using this app and app was playing good music so I asked what is the name of app After I downloaded this I can focus reading and homework better than dont have this app I definitely like subscribe                 I love this app so much
Really delivers on the promise Focus at Will has completely changed the way I work                 Very very good
Great functional prowess I really enjoy using the app for periods of study and concentration However the app is buggy and could use a little work First the app has a poor look and feel It has not been updated for the new iPhone 66 size despite the new phones being released 6 months ago and the design in my opinion is rather poor Secondly the app will occasionally fail to load which means you cannot access any audio I have no idea why this occurs so frequently usually requires you to force restart the app a few times even on wifi where the connection is rather good Finally I would suggest tweaking the productivity factor tracking This is largely a user input process but the options are in quartiles and sometimes I am feeling between 75 and 100 focused I would suggest perhaps seeing how many times the user switches out of the app answering texts browsing the web for a true measure of productivity Those criticisms aside this is a nice albeit expensive app to have The existing competition is limited              Good but needs polishing
Kept getting an error that services kept timing out and then it would freeze up on me trying to process the music Times it would come in and out Burnt my productivity Couldnt get it to work but 50 of time Likes the concept and potential        Servers always times out
The product itself is incredible and I give it five stars I truly am extremely more productive when I am using the service and its an awesome feeling to summon focus quite literally at will The science and algorithms behind how the magic happens is truly well done That said userinterface needs a little work from a user experience perspective For example sometimes it takes a while for the app to first start up as its contacting the server Also Ive never liked having to tap and hold in order to set the focus time that should just be a onetap feature Hope the app will get better in time              5star product 3star UI
Relieves the stress of having to use finite willpower to stay focused Have been using for one year and find it to be nearly indispensable Only desire is to see more tracking metrics in the future or at least beyond seven days Definitely works and works extremely well              Focus without Will
I am an engineer a very busy one I have too many projects going at the same time and a lot of potential distractions all day long Finding this service was a huge improvement to my daily work flow I use the timer a lot so I set focus work sessions for 60 minutes at a time and unless I am interrupted by a visit or a phone call I can focus on a single task get it done and actually enjoy doing whatever it is It helps make tedious repetitive crap work easier to get through and it seems to help the creative process for more complicated jobs as well I use it when I am working from home too It really helps keep the innumerable distractions and diversions from my mind When I am more productive I feel better at the end of the day I sleep better because I am making good progress on projects Try it                 Amazing Service
This is an incredible tool for those of us with attention issues The app needs a little tweaking but the tool feels almost too good to be true I just finished a two hour plane ride I used wifi to phone and Bose in ear noise cancellers Reading a book was a breezenot a typical experience for me                 Amazing
The App crashes every time upon openingI was listening to free trial and loved it So then I went to purchase the app and after doing so the app crashes every time when I try opening it Its a bummer cause I loved the concept Hopefully this will be remedied so I can eventually use the app again        App crashes every time upon opening
