Everyone in the medical field knows that in every emergency situation, Airway, breathing and circulation are assessed and dealt with FIRST! There is no use saving a spine when a person will be braindead from no oxygen reaching the brain! Yes, we may cause further injury to the cervical area of the spine by removing the helmet but with no access to deliver air, all measures to save a person is absolutely moot!
