This app is hampered by long startup times unresponsive buttons and long sync times Offline functionality works about a third of the time Its too bad this companys content is locked inside an app that is such a pain to use     Barely usable

Great app to help review crucial material Please fix your Set goal quality slider It is defective              Great review app

If it aint broke dont fix it Firecracker decided not to follow this mantra The older version was simple and it worked This new version has cards unshuffled so I get questions from a single topic at once The biggest problem is 50 of the green highlighted answers I are not the actual answer There is a lot to be fixed here Until its updated Ill use the desktop version which limits the mobility of firecracker     Lots of problems with this version

Firecracker is amazing but not this rendition of their mobile app 1 Grey screen on startup if not connected to the internet 2 Slow or no response to tapping some icons 3 Slow sync times I have to wait over a minute before using the app every time The good parts are that the new buttons make more sense and when they get the bugs worked out it will be a nice mobile all But for now it is almost unusable Previous versions were much more reliable     Firecracker is amazing this app version is not

Im a second year med student and heard firecracker is great for step prep as long as you dedicate some time everyday I do about an hour to go through as much questions as possible The app really helped towards reaching my goals of doing certain number of questions a day because I can literally do it anywhere anytime Unlike previous review the app is working well for me Is this a great way to prep for step Ask me in a year                 Great App

Still has a a few bugs and features needed but this app is the perfect way to study and manage medical school on the go                 The perfect way to study

I downloaded this on 12042014 on my ipad and it still doesnt work right I love it on my iPhone although some of the better features are not intuitive I had no idea I was supposed to tap the avg score in order to take quizes based on the score I gave it Thanks for the FAQ I now know Wish this would work on my iPad Like previously stated the problem is that the app does not work in landscape mode and in portrait mode it is only seen on the bottom 13 of the screen Please have someone fix this Update 121014 found out that if you start the program in the portrait mode first you can then move it to landscape mode and itll work Kind of annoying but at least I can use it on my iPad now Update 122314 Recently got the update and things are working well I agree with other raters that the lack of landscape view is kind of a pain as my iPad sits in a keyboard so is pretty much permanently in landscape unless I take it out The synching across platforms works really well and even syncs to the website now Thats a great fix I think the next step would be better usage of images for the answers especially derm questions and Ive encounter a couple of bugs in the questions but the team does a good job of fixing those problems when I report them Good improvement but has the potential to be the premier app for med students              Still doesnt work for iPad

This is by far the worst app not only that Ive ever downloaded but the worst app that the Apple Store ever had The Apple Store should seriously delete this app and make the world a better place Absolutely horrible I wish I didnt have to Give it any stars to write this review     WORST APP EVER

Ill give it 2 stars because it has great potential from looking at the iPhone version This app works on my iPad only in portrait mode aka NOT landscape which is how my case is set up so I would have to remove it from my case for any functionality In Portrait mode I only see a functional interface on the bottom 30 of the screen I am unable to answer any questions that I see        iPad Air 2 not working yet

The set up is nice Its a little hard to navigate at first but once you figure it out its great You get to pick what categories you want to study but I havent been able to figure out how to get the questions to be multiple choice              Pretty good

This app does everything I need it for and more Im loving the new Browse and Messages functions Also the adjustable daily goal is a game changer This app is going to get me that 270                 Love the new features

I use firecracker mainly on my computer and sometimes on my phone when Im away from the computer The problems I have with the app are that it freezes a lot probably one for every 12 times I open the app and also I feel there may be some sort of miscommunication between the app and the computer version because it seems what I marked is not concurrent with the questions I see in the app Other than that it is very straightforward and easy to use           Not impressed

Still needs iPhone 6 and 6 optimization before really a 5 star app           Amazing app still some features needed

Without landscape mode this app is a lot clumsier and less enjoyable to use 6222015 We reviewed and they responded This is a testament to not just the quality of the app but also the quality of the developers                 Excellent in utility and ease of use

So rather than fix the landscape issue you just removed the ability to use the app in landscape I guess that defeats the purpose of me using my ipad for firecracker you know since it sits in a stand Please bring back landscape mode All the other fixes have been great and have really helped improve the app           No more landscape

Compared to previous versions Pros Updated design Cons Inability to do questions by topic Inability to do questions in random order Inability to skip questions Confusing and cumbersome UI In conclusion youre better off using the desktop version of Firecracker     1 step forward many steps back

There are still many content errors but there is no good way to describe how to correct them specifically with feedback Content unclear can mean anything but I really want the content to be corrected in a specific way that I cannot describe using the feedback There needs to be a space for free text if Firecracker wants to correct errors in the content Syncing is much better though           LET YOUR USERS FLAG CONTENT ERRORS IN A MEANINGFUL WAY

I have an iPad 4 the generation before the iPad Air I think its called iPad 4 and I am running the most recent software update When I open the app in landscape mode the screen is completely white When its in portrait mode the app only displays in the bottom half of the screen As a result important functions of the app are unusable because they do not show up on the screen The next update would need to fix this in order of the app to be functional     Not functional in my iPad

I just updated and now many of my questions seem to be missing the stem It only gives the last sentence ie What is the reason for her neutrophilia without any other info or case The app will be unusable if not corrected        Was OK till this update

Currently there are some irritating glitches with multiple choice questions where the options are not shown The app also has drastically limited functionality compared to the browser version For example the following arent possible or is inconvenient in the app Never see again option Inappropriate text shown as an answer Usually this is a minor inconvenience and requires an additional click to see more and find the answer However the desktop version reliable highlights the answer and removes the guesswork Ability to change the days until you see a question Ability to select and do questions based on New vs Review vs Catchup Notes do not appear after answering the question and numerous navigation steps are required to access the notes pad No scratchpad for thinking through answers This is a big drawback for me I am sure Firecracker will continue to improve this app but currently I only use it when it is my only option because a laptop isnt available Walking waiting in lines before a flight takes off etc           Some glitches and lack of functionality

It has been years and they still cant figure out how to simply make an app work on the iPhone It just loads and loads and never opens     Never has worked for me probably never will

Its definitely better than before But most annoying this is the images clicked in the answer explanations dont open to fit screen and there is no way to resize them or scroll           Better but still problems

Its super buggy Questions can only be answered sequentially no shuffle It wont unselect questions after I have unselected them from my laptop even after syncing You cant manage your topics from the app You cant skip questions You cant review answered questions by answer category like you could in the previous version Why is there now a limit of 80 questions imposed on the app I dont care for the update at can you developers please fix it and return the old functionality and possibly add more functional features The new version is pretty but I would rather have the old functionality back rather than the aesthetic upgrade     Now prettier and mostly useless

WHERE IS LANDSCAPE MODE FOR IPAD     Needs to be updated ASAP

My main issue with the app is that it takes so long to load Often the little Spinney bar will just spin for a few minutes until I get tired of waiting for it to load and work on something else which defeats the purpose of being able to use an app to do a few flashcards if you have a few minutes to spare Another thing I would like to see is my user notes that I have been entering in the desktop version so that I can see my mnemonics and images that I have put inlastly as other reviewers have noted often times the correct answer to the question is not highlighted or is incompletely highlighted so I have to go to the full topic in order to find the answer to the question All in all seems to be going in the right direction but a lot of work to be done here Thank you        Slowly improving

I just updated my iPad mini 1 to the new iOS version and now the app only shows a blank white screen in landscape mode and in portrait mode the app appears on the bottom third of the screen and is unusable literally Before I updated to the newer version of iOS today I noticed the new app is aesthetically pleasing but lacking in functionality I cant search and add topics from within the mobile app I cant view a broader topic after answering a question I cant add notes I know this wasnt available on prior mobile app but should be on any new one and explanations for multiple choice questions on the web app are not on the mobile app although it shows the same answer I dont care that the question counter only goes up to 80 I can get around that I updated to the newest iOS today because I was thinking I was not seeing some features like searching topics because I was running older software After I updated to newest iOS the app is unusable as all I get is a white screen I really liked the old mobile app and the current web app because all the features wereare functional I understand the firecracker team wants to add all these cool new features but just make sure the basic features work first and then build on those     Broken app

the new update is tremendous but also hugely buggy and crashes regularly please release a fix soon           new update new crashes

This version is a step in the right direction Sync times are quicker and the changes to the interface are great Still missing a landscape mode              Getting better

I agree with all of the above reviewers regarding landscape mode being essential Also Ive found that on the beta version of the web app I can change my total number of questions per day to be less than 80 However this does not seem to carry over to the iPad or iPhone app Syncing problem        Landscape mode and number of questions per day

I love Firecracker and wish I knew about it during my first year Their program really does help improve my retention Unfortunately the mobile app is still in development so I dont use it That way I avoid syncing issues I do like the mobile app though I can answer questions much quicker using the mobile app as opposed to the desktop version On the other hand the mobile app doesnt offer nearly as many features as the desktop version              Im A Fan Waiting for Desktop Sync

Major updates and improvements to the app this is an invaluable resource that helps me maximize my time studying                 Highly recommended for all med students

Theyve fixed the search and sync issues and are obviously working on landscape mode for iPad Ive updated my star rating to reflect the improvements Still need normal nonlegendary mode option for flags option to not see certain cards preview of how many cards are in a flag before reviewing a syncing progress bar at the top that actually means something when first opening the app It currently gives me no indication of how close it really is to opening faster app opening I have 920 flags and it takes 35 minutes to see my first card The last suggestion is what is the most critical need for my uses It really bums me out when I have 10 minutes in a waiting room and half of the time is spent watching the totally useless status bar be 98 filled It makes not opening Reddit instead extremely difficult              Much better

This just isnt well done The beta launch is bad the phone app doesnt sync to the web browser so you get questions youve never seen before and you cant use your phone to complete your daily number of cards and even the main website itself isnt much better highlighted and bolded parts arent always the answer For example a question could be What are the 3 parts of Virchows triad and when you open the card there is a long explanation but the only part that is highlighted and bolded is Virchows triad Also if you dont finish all of your cards in one sitting the cards will reset mostly they will keep your answers grade of 15 but sometimes not Even if they save your answersgrade you still have to resave everything So if youre 80 cards in then leave and come back when you come back you have to hit save 80 times until you get back to where you left off Try Anki or StudyBlue Ive heard they are better     Not good
