find a metro dc

I have had this app since it was created and I was excited about it After coming back from Paris and having used the application that the official metro and train company of the Paris Region made I am fairly annoyed about the fact that this app hasnt evolved into something bigger and better The WMATA is at fault When are we going to have an official application for the iPhone which might make the users of this expensive and already archaic Metro and Bus system in the Nations capital worthy clients For the app developer of this obviously free app look at other metro systems app around the world to get inspiration for a greater and more practical product you should be able to follow the buses and metros on the different lines live Its the 21sr century Get on it give ultra accurate trips planners with time tables according to which bus or metro you will be on during your journey from point A to point B show a detailed map with the different lines being worked on live and where metros or buses stop because of traffic or malfunctions I mean these are easy points        Completely BETA

Ive noticed the circulator arrival times have become increasing unreliable Either no data is available probably not the apps fault so Im complaining to them directly as well or the data is off by a few minutes Ive had several occasions where a bus I could have caught was not listed and of course vice versa In the beginning this app seemed to be dead on What happened For the metro it is great           Circulator issues

Downloaded for trip to DC App only partially worked Ive used the Metro system many times before so I was primarily interested in this app for the Favorite Stations and 5 Closest Stations features These did not work while I was in the DC area Always got Unable to determine your location message Ended up just using the map that already comes with the iPhone The trip planner was a nice function and worked well     Very disappointing

This is by far the best DC Nav App Great real time metro data and updated often This version already has the new prices Great for commuters and probably a must have for any tourist with an iphone Dont be fooled by some of the low ratings theyre probably from its disgruntled competitors Trust me Ive tried them all                 Best DC Nav App

I use this app ALL THE TIME but it desperately needs an update to include the recentlyopened Silver Line              Accurate and useful but needs update

All it needs is to be able to plan trip EXACTLY by telling us which stops to get off at for transfer if need be along with arrival times of multiple routes              Good but could be great

Just upgraded from IPhone3G without S to IPhone 4S and this one works just as great This app is perfect amongst all the bells that such apps can come with this one nails down to what a local or a tourist will need and thats why I still use it after about 2 years for example find the closest station then find out after how long trains are leaving at that station in both directions save frequent stations close to my office as favorites click on map to get to station info Simple small fast Thanks for the app                 Perfect for the task

Just got back from a trip to DC I used this app and my wife had another Both had their advantages Hers had a much better UI and was generally more pleasant easy to use especially with planning routes to take However it didnt have a trip planner eg calculating the trip cost or live time tables Both of those came in handy multiple times In all it is a functional app that will help you get around DC              Pretty Good

Cannot add stations to the list of favorites     Broken

You need to update the app It constantly crashes and the searching for location feature when trying to view the map is useless        App crashes constantly

I couldnt get it to give me real time arrivals of circulator buses So I just bookmarked the free circulator web page on my desktop instead        Hmmm maybe its just me

Only use was the static map Trip planner could be useful if you already know where youre getting on off NEVER would show 5 nearest stations much less walking directions NEVER could determine my location I was outside POI nor anything else would work Save your buck I could have gotten what I did for free VERY disappointed        Didnt work as stated

This app was helpful in so many ways I especially liked the trip planner and find the closest metro station Takes the anxiety out of getting around DC I also ran into a small problem Emailed to support and got an almost immediate answer with explicit instructions                 Extremely helpful

This is a critical application for all metro users                 Works great

Visiting DC for the first time this week and had no idea how to navigate the Metro This app was invaluable Using the closest stations feature with directions and the trip planner feature we were able to use the metro like we lived in the city It was great knowing the cost AND number of stops as we moved from place to place our kids could count the stops knowing when we would get off instead of asking are we there yet Also knowing the minutes until the next few arrivals was helpful I highly recommend this app to anyone who uses the Metro and if you are a tourist this app and a Metro card will insure you and your family have a great time                 A must have when visiting DC

Im only rating it low to draw attention to the fact that you need to update the app for the retina display INCLUDING THE ICON Fix the icon and I would give the app a 5     RETINA DISPLAY ICON

As a frequent visitor to DC I loaded this to my iphone4 It does all it advertises and the service is excellent I had an initial problem because the app was not able to find my current location I did the aboutbutton on the app stated my problem and got a solution back within 15 minutes I had not turned the app on in SettingsGeneral That was real personal service fast Locations and directions to the metro AND from the metro to your destination are accurate as are the train arrival times Well worth the money                 Mr

Need to improve the bus arrival time search ability Often people like to search by route and address instead of bus stop id Also app often crash on ios5              Good app for dc metro and circulator

This app was a musthave until it suddenly stopped working You cannot add favorites or see the names of the stations when trying to find out what time a train comes The result is that you cant see the train times which is what the app is designed to do for any station     Broken

I have no idea why anyone would be rating this app less than a 4star I just used it for a week and found it to be great I didnt find one thing I disliked about it And this was my first trip to DC so I didnt have any previous experience on the metro or even in the DC area I used another app to determine the closet metro stop to my point of destination It always showed the five closest stations and the trip planner was a life saver getting thru the change from one color to the next                 Great App

Bought this for short trip to DC Marine Corps Marathon Needed accurate transit info When I got there it was not working because I had the settings wrong on my phone Emailed support expecting nothing as it was a weekend night and by Monday Id be in California not needing DC transit help Within just a few minutes I received a cheerful and helpful reply fixed Worked great and helped me then care for injured runners THANKS                 Awesome service as well

Lots of options very convenient to have metrobus and circulator info in one app Usually totally accurate with arrival times and whatnot Not a perfect five stars only because it allows you to save just three bus stops by number for quick reference would be way more useful with eight or ten available saves              My goto DC metro app

I was in DC and had a problem with the app sent an email to the company from the app menu and in about 1520 minutes I had a response with the fix I needed Great service Great app                 Great service

Train trip planner is not live and only tells me general information like how long the trip will take and how much it will cost These are things I already know as a DC resident It would be nice to know livetime trips           Almost good

I just switched to the iPhone after having a Droid and using the wonderful and free DC Metro Transit app This app is sort of a letdown by comparison It needs more than 3 available bus stops and an easier way to select favorite stops stop numbers are not always handy I do like the integration of first and last trains at each station           Works ok but needs more work

Just got back from two weeks in DC and used this app multiple times per day Nobody should visit DC without it Not only is the Metro info extremely well done but the guide for getting to nearby attractions is worth buying the app for by itself Well done                 Essential tool for DC Metro use

I have had verizon for the last ten years I have lived in this place called dc for almost a year which means I have had to spend countless minutes waiting for trains with nothing to do but watch people play with their iPhones It is especially frustrating working an 11 hour day getting to the metro and watching the orange line doors close just as my foot hits the bottom step of a broken escalator Then my friend showed me this app That the planner and gps tell me how to get to the closest metros was neat But the real moment was when I discovered that it tells you the arrival times of any train at any metro I can only compare the feeling to what Harold and Kumar felt when they finally made it to Whitecastle or perhaps even when they escaped from Guantanamo Bay For the last three months I have been staring longingly at my calendar for the arrival of the new iPhone 4 I have battled verizon to free me once again from their computer records system unintentionally locking me into yet another contract term Now I have my iPhone and this app What can I say other than I am happy that I can now prevent precious moments of my life from being taken day by day minute by minute escalator by escalator Seriously if youre new to the city determined on making life incrementally but inexorably harder on its inhabitants a dollar is worth it to make it so much easier                 Crowbar for the doors metro says it can open but does not

Excellent app Uses google maps and located to show closest top five metro stations However has not been updated for new circulator route to rosalyn Does not show closest circulator or dc bus stops Still well worth 99 cents              Update circulatory

Unfortunately there is not currently one single perfect app which meets all the needs of a DC transit junkie This is one of the best because it lets you type in the NextBus numbers directly and it includes the Circulator as well My only gripe is that it wont let you save more than three bus stops But other than that this app is pretty comprehensive I also use myTransit DC and circdc              You ever ride on the Metro
