Files Connect

Used to be a great app and still is if you are running iOS 5 and your Mac is Running OS X 107 or lower The ONLY feature that separated this app from the rest was the ability to create a SMB share from the iOS device that would show automatically in finder via Bonjour unfortunately this feature is broken in Yosemite due to changes in the SMB protocol The support is zero the documentation is nonexistent and it was last updated more than one year ago Do you still want it     No Support No updates Stay away

Jul2012 update excellent the app has improved A LOT Good job Only thing needed integration with icloud Jul14 update lots of improvements but the app still forgets your last folder when you background it and later come back This is unnacceptable by now it needs to come back EXACTLY in the same state as when sent to the background Fix this and you get many stars back until then the app is simply too anoying to use I use this app a lot and it is well worth the money However it URGENTLY needs an update I find it tremendously irritated that it does not play well with the backgroundingforwarding that apple uses If you are deep into a folder of your folder structure and then switch app and later come back to Files Connect then all your navigation is gone you have to navigate from scratch again This needs to be fixed I expect that when I send Files Connect to the background even if it is fake multitasking then it needs to be EXACTLY how I left it when I come back Fix this and Ill change my rating to 5                 A very good app but it urgently needs an update

I bought this hoping I could connect to Dropbox as well as my other services like google drive and my file server Nope it gives permission denied everytime for Dropbox All other services work great though I looked at the developers site and found a 3 month old support thread saying theres a dropbox sign in issue Thats plenty of time to either fix the issue or change the description of the app on the App Store Tip to developer change your description so it says Dropbox does not currently work Until it works as advertised 3 stars for claiming the app works with Dropbox when it does not           Dropbox doesnt work on this app

Keep the updates coming and you wont have any disappointed customers                 Great App

Used to work with my SFTP server but not anymore Customer support is like a black hole no replies at all Why did I pay 5 for this     Doesnt work with SFTP

There just flat out needs to be trial versions of apps because of buggy crap like this Removed it from my phone 10 minutes after downloading Interface graphics are screwed up and AFP performance is dead slow Save your money     Burned again

It appears functional but is buggy as hell The UI is all flash and not usable Would not recommend     Buggy

The sheer number of connection options make this app a musthave for power users WebDAV Dropbox etc I personally use Apple File Protocol and SFTP on a regular basis to effortlessly connect to my computers wirelessly While Ive been using this app successfully on my iPhone 5 the only factor keeping this app from a five star rating is the lack of native screen support on the iPhone 5 Still a fantastic app with functionality that blows the competition away              Best file managing app

This app would be perfect if it didnt crash so much and only upload part of the files you are trying to transfer It also selectively connects to cloud accounts I have to keep closing the app and restarting it It is a shame because it could be a great app if the developer would just update it        Too Unstable

FilesConnect can do AFP MP4 streaming AFAIK no other app can But its quite buggy and needs a facelift What ever happened to using a noncustom interface              Great bones

I gave it 2 stars because it used to be great Im having connection issues with my iPhone and when I went to check so have others I then checked to see if the app is updated I regularly update my apps This one hasnt updated in 2 years Anyone home        Used to be great

Enjoying the app works as described There is a bug in the iPhone version that causes the menu display to be semitransparent so that after openingclosing a menu item the opened page is still visible through the menu creating a visual mess of text and graphics Rotating the iPhone to landscape and back to portrait resets the transparency bug Also on the iPad in columnview previously opened columns remain visible and appear between the column displayed when a second folder is selected Sound confusing It is I really hope the developer doesnt abandon this app like they did with EZ Share Please fix this app           Great except for a couple of bugs

I use this app to browse and read from my home server Mac Mini w6TB RAID However now I want to keep a copy of files locally but transfer options are limited Anyway when organizing files you cannot move then You have to copy then delete Why no move option              Good but no move option

Update Dropbox no longer works with this app and still no updates from the publisher DO NOT BUY ANY APPS FROM THIS PUBLISHER they do not support them instead they repackage and charge for a new app This app hasnt been updated in almost a year It works ok at home to access files on other computers and NASs but when I purchased this app I was told that they were working on a feature to support BacktomyMac to access my HDs attached to my Airport Extreme In 2011 they told someone on their forum they were submitting a feature request to work with SharePoint I am to a point now using this for business that I would like to be able to access my companies SharePoint site to view upload and download files Bottom line if you want to access files on your local network and transfer files to the iPad or iPhone without connecting to iTunes this is a good app but dont expect updated features beyond that Ive been waiting almost a year for new feature to no avail To Antecea If you are still monitoring this app please update to support Back to my Mac and SharePoint     Stale App needs updates

Needs open with option very crucial for ftp Ability to save playlist show image thumbnails and edit key tag meta tag for files but that would be pushing it     no open with

I am able to access all my files on my external HD connected to my AirPort Extreme as well as my shared folders on my Mac I also tried to stream moviesable to play mp4 format must be a format that the ipad can decode Tech support responded to my question in less than 15 min Ipad 3 running ios 6                 Works great with AFP

Overall its pretty solid and works pretty well particularly for AFP shares Two bugs The first is just cosmetic the text in the download window appears to have a second copy offset by a pixel or three making text look blurry The second is worse everything in my Downloads folder is gone including the folder itself It happened after I mistakenly tapped the Photos shortcut and got an error about Location Services being off sidebar why does Location Services confer access to the photo library Not sure if the two were related but it felt that way Data loss is a bad thing Bad bad bad Losing data makes me mad Mad mad mad Realizing an otherwise good app can cause this kind of data loss makes me sad Sad sad sad           Decent but has bugs

With Dropbox integration finally working again this app regains a fourstar rating from me              Dropbox integration finally fixed

The UI display gets corrupted simply by navigating screens No way that I can find to import an ssh key for use with sftp     Wasted my money

The best app for this on the App Store If your connection is slow it is a bit bad but no one can do anything about it                 Awesome

This app supports everything FTP SFTP SMB AFP WebDav etc And allows you to stream music and video from any of those protocols Only suggestions would be to allow to select a Path for FTP server type and more audio streaming support currently just mp3 I would really like to see ogg vorbis and aac stream support or allow to stream to another app This is the only app in its class in my opinion                 Best server support

This app used to be the best way to connect to multiple computers servers and online services as well as to aggregate your files in one place But it hasnt been updated in ages and its becoming very flakey The worst thing is that it will occasionally lose the ability to connect to Dropbox mainly because it hasnt been updated to properly register itself with dropboxs security settings Ive contacted support and thy are useless in fact they understood less about the problem than me If they updated it it could be a 5star app again but now its just to worth it Get good reader instead its the next best thing and works reliably        Used to be good now its garbage

Really good product but check their web sitethey dont list this one anymore And if you submit a tech support question Files Connect doesnt show up in the list of options you can ask a question about           Uh ohfair warning

I know you have several other apps but please finish updating this app to the iPhone 5 so I can use the full screen              iPhone 5 screen

Dropbox login broken App crashes on open in App fails to do anything with file formats other than the typical iOS files For example if you want to grab a dwg file from you work server and use the open in command to open the file in Autocad 360 or copy the file to another location or email the file the app fails This all seems like pretty basic functionality for a file manager This app is actually just an iOS file viewer and not a very good one at that     Good format but a miserable failure

This has got to be one of the best Apps I have ever downloaded work as advertised and the techs are fast to respond and help with any problems I am completely satisfied with this app Larry                 GREAT APP

I cannot even use this app because it crashes almost as soon as I start using it with null pointer exceptions Fix your code or refund You cannot sell apps that do not work as specified     Crashes Before You Can Use It

I can access files on time capsule which is what I wanted but most of those files are photos In order to see the photo you have to view each one individually No preview images just generic icons This is a serious oversight and renders this app fairly useless to me What is odd is that other file types have previews Just no media files Also their directions on how to connect to Boxnet are wrong Even support gave me the wrong directions I finally figured it out by my lonesome I think Ill try file browser           Lacks image preview

Dropbox integration is great No need to download useless iTunes on my laptop                 Dropbox

When browsing a computer hitting the button to go back to the overall computer list overlays that list on whatever screen you were just looking at The only way to cleat it is to bring up help or one of the other settings screens and then exit it It also has no log out button on AFP shares and the save password toggle isnt respected when turned off Other than that the app works pretty well        Major bugs overshadow a good app

This used to be a good app but with no active development it is buggy since iOS5 was released and no updates so far SMB server doesnt start on my iPhone 5S iOS 701 DONT BUY THIS ABANDONWARE     No updates in a year

This is the best app in the App Store for supporting AFP file sharing The UI can be buggy at times but in about a month of usage almost every day it has crashed maybe twice All negative review are apparently on other features or are from people not using the app correctly Once ports were forwarded I can access my files anywhere Mac or NAS Easy setup easy interface great app Only complaint is that I cant select multiple files when using Open In function Probably could use an update just for minor bug fixes and iOS 6 support but on my devices running iOS 6 I have no major complaints                 Great app for AFP

I just downloaded the app to my iPhone and it automatically detected saved and displayed my NAS and computer from my WiFi Then I just tapped the NAS icon selected a video and it started playing immediately Exactly what I was looking for and so easy Just great cant wait to show my freinds PS I had just wasted about 15 hours trying to get some free apps working                 Great for streaming video from a NAS

I cannot figure how to delete machine entries I have created under Favorites I have asked several times over many months and have received no answers Support does not exist     No reply after several support attempts
