EVERYTHING EXPLAINED for the PROFESSIONAL PILOT

I purchased the App prior to the Apple 8 Update The information is well thought out and there are plenty of explanations in regards to some of the ambiguous 135 and 121 regulations Book and App also cover General Aviation regs as well After the Apple 8 upgrade there was a small glitch which cause a hiccup in the App With a email and a quick response from the Author he explained that the the new update for IOS 8 will be out within days of 92814 I highly recommend either book or App for Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot                 Great Book and Information

If you want one reference for all and everything you need to know and an easy access to all aviation related information available before only through hundreds of different channels and books then this book by Richie Lengel Everything Explained For The Professional Pilot is the book you want and NEED Imagine getting ready for a check ride an interview or simply a day when youre in a cockpit cruising along when you HAVE to look something up maybe youve been radioed that the Feds are ramp checking at your destination You want to dot all the is and cross the Ts but you dont have internet to search the web for the information you need you dont have ALL the books you would need to have to be able answer that all important question before you land Where do you look FARAIM Itll take you an hour How about just looking in the index of this book EVERYTHING is in the index EVERYTHING Studying for a check ride or interview is hard and long enough there are thousands of topics and tens of books to go through Where do you begin When does it end You can start and end with this book As you go through the book every subject is throughly and clearly explained with the relevant and updated reference for you to look up if you need to You wont spend time jumping from topic to topic book to book and at best covering 40 what you need to know in a zig zag fashion EVERYTHING you need to know and want to know is in this book I have had 2 soft cover editions of Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot and now have bought the iPad version Each time its been worth every penny and its saved me a lot of work and hassle Im now using the iPad version to get me prepped for a few interviews while I work and travel I would have to carry my entire library to have access to this much info and would take me months to cover the same ground not only the index is one of the thickest and most comprehensive indexes Ive seen but the search feature alone is a god sent Ive known Richie since a year before he released the first edition of this book and at that point he was working on this for many many years You can see the fruits of his effort in this publication by the complexity and thoroughness in every topic Every page is packed with as much information as its physically possible to get on one page yet its easy to read and digest Its written by a pilot for a pilot Richie has taken the lawyer talk out of the FARAIM the weatherman out of weather physicist out of aerodynamics and so on He explains everything in a way that every common man from all levels of experience in aviation can relate to and understand and if you want to dig much much deeper that you would ever need to outside of this book he even gives you the reference to go look it up The jokes and the cartoons are pretty good too Buy this bookapp and the only regret youll have itll be that you didnt get it sooner                 Most comprehensive and thorough aviation book EVER

This app is one of the most expensive I ever bought and I think that for the price to be paid they should take care of the iOS 8 issues in no time It doesnt even worth a penny as it is now     Do you guys fix the iOS 8 issue or what

I have this book in my library as well as on my iPad and I truly think of it as a must have for any pilot The only quirk I found is you cant go back to bookmarked pages Not the end of the world for me as I still have a bookmarked paper copy but others might not If you could please address that that would make this app all the greater Despite the quirk Great App                 Great App

The bottom line is that this app deserves a 10 star rating Absolutely a must have for every pilot The newly updated features are AWESOME No crashing issues at all With out a doubt the bookapp are worth their weight in goldactually theyre PRICELESS                 Possibly The BEST APP EVER

Was a little disappointed that it was the 9th edition and not the 10th For the most part the app is very useful when it works The app shuts down all the time and there is no option to print which would be very useful for reference           Good but not great

Good book but it wasnt available to me before a recent interview due to the iOS 8 crashing issues The beta iOS 8 update was available long before release for testing Why was such an expensive app not tested And why hasnt it been fixed yet     Still crashing Should work by now

Truly an awesome resource for in and outside the cockpit I had the book and bought the app mainly for the search feature A lot of Aviation wisdom in plain English now on my IPad I love it Well worth the money Great job Richie                 PNolis

This app is one stop shopping for nearly all your pilot needs The author did a fantastic job at gathering all the important stuff and making it easy and fun to digest However the app needs to be updated to work with iOS 8 Hopefully they will have that sorted out soon If it does get fixed I will continue to recommend this app and its author to anybody in the flying industry              Great app but I hope they fix it soon for iOS 8

Still rating 55 I contacted the author and he was extremely quick to reply and assured me a fix was in the make and was submitted for approval September 26th Apple promised approval within 7 business days so the wait is almost over In the meantime the author offered to send me a hard cover FREE OF CHARGE which I accepted and received as priority mail Overall I am very pleased with the book and the customer service by the author Book quality and content 55 Clarity 55 A MUST READ BEFORE ALL PILOT INTERVIEWS                 Crashes but a fix is was submitted September 26th

I love being able to carry this around while Im flying without all the weight of the hard copy                 Awesome App

I was worried this would happen when the author was already saying you have to reboot ur iPad after update to make it work I rebooted my iPad and it still crashes Im on ios 612 No where has the author said u need iOS 7 or above but on iOS 612 it crashes and now I wished I had not updated as I now dont have the old version either I cant upgrade this iPad due to a company app that has not been updated to iOS 7 yet For iOS 6 users dont upgrade           Latest version crashes on starting dont upgrade

If you are a pilot and havent purchased this book yet do yourself a favor and get it now It is by far the BEST aviation reference tool I have ever seen The print version is awesome and the iPad app is even better with the search and highlight functions Quick support and answers to question regarding the app as well Ive met Mr Lengel and hes one heck of a nice guy as well Totally worth the price                 Get this book

Great app although they are still working on some issues at the moment due to Apples iOS8 causing the app to crash However the publisher is very good in communication and addressing customer concerns He also informed me that the issue should be resolved in just few days They are hard at work to solve the problem soon and the free update will also have some nice new features once it is out Im giving 5 stars because of his ability to problem solve in the midst of his inconvenience caused by Apple update and turn the problem into a positive for everyone                 Crash issue is being solved at the moment

Finally a useable version of this outstanding book I think this is the third version of this app that Ive written a review for and Im happy to finally give five stars The app doesnt crash anymore it reopens to the last page you were on after you minimize it it just works Unfortunately it has taken many many tries for the app author to get this app right and Ill bet that the app author lost the book author quite a bit of money due to the shoddy work done on this app in the past Thanks for finally doing this excellent book justice on the iPad                 Finally An app worthy of the book Buy this

I can not say enough good about this book The iOS 8 update is amazing I have been reading this book and using all the new features You can select a passage and have the program read it hilight it Google search the passage or word Go into the index and tap on a page and you are brought there instantly Really speeds up study time This book is an amazing value                 BEST AVIATION BOOK MUST BUY

The book is fantastic and a great studyrefresh tool The app needs a few tweaks to make it great First the bookmarks dont work as you cant find the page that was bookmarked Also when you close of the app to do other things and then reopen the app it goes to the first page not the page you left on Update those features and it will be fantastic           Great book okay app

This app crashes so often it is barely usable I know that several people are blaming it on the new iOS but it has been crashing for more than two months since I bought it I updated deleted and reloaded and tried everything else recommended I like the book and the information is great The app however was clearly a waste of money Disappointing        Fix this please

This app has some serious compatibility issues with iOS8 Many apps do I have been in personal correspondence with Mr Lengel over the last two days and a fix is in the works I have no hesitation in saying that I recommend this app 100 If you have any issues write to the author at the email address found on his website Hell get you in the loop Fantastic quick response which is what Ive experienced in the past from the author He has assured me that in the next several days a fix will be released                 Be patient a fix is in the works

This bookapp is quite literally a revolution in aviation literature Genuinely one of those instances where you can say something was written for pilots by a pilot It somehow hits the nail on the head of explaining the very worst the FAA lawyers can create to you in a digestible form which is both simple but not too simple I struggle with most aviation literature which somehow puts me to sleep even when I am not tired tries to over explain the most basic information and then doesnt differentiate and highlight the most important information This book does all that and it does it in a manner that keeps you interested and engaged I could keep writing but have run out of space Many thanks Richie youre a genius                 A revolution in aviation literature

Mr Lengels work falls behind only the AIM AFH and the PHAK In other words get it                 dont leave home without it

There is no question if you are prepping for an airline interview that you need this book If you dont get the app you need the hard copy Period That being said the app weighs a a lot less is searchable and updates when new versions of the book are released tenth edition just dropped and it was a quick update iOS 8 has broken this but I have been emailing with the author and a fix is coming shortly Until then one workaround is to enter something into the search box and it wont crash The author has a completely new app ready to roll out redesigned from the ground up He says it will be released shortly So take your pick paper or tablet but get this book                 You need this

Everything explained is a perfect app for not only the student but for the experienced pilot too It is continuously updated with the constant changes in aviation without the difficulty This app helps me find highlight and personalize the information thats important to me and my needs I can add my own aircraft info and pictures of the current dashboard and aircraft that Im flying I can highlight stuff I need to look at more often Best part of this book has always been the simplification I dont have to reread the info in order to make sense of it Its real time information with real world words and communication Keep the updates coming Mr Lengel And thank you                 All around great

Wellresearched text that significantly reduces the pile of publications carried by CFIs and professionals The index is worth the stack of publications it references in gold Tap the index the letter of what you need scroll to the entry tap the page number and youre there The plane language is quite refreshing Ive even seen this text on some FAA Inspectors desks If you need to go to the original source document good luck reading the sources legalese every single source is clearly listed Sometimes the app gets cranky but Ive found that pinching the cranky page seems to restore function The author is very responsive to information changes I swear the FAA has a department dedicated to changing anything that hasnt been changed in awhile and plans an update that will both update changed information and fix the crankiness issues Buy the iPad just for this app                 Indispensable App for Pro Pilots

By far the best and most fun to read aviation referencelearning tools Ive ever seen A true masterpiece Ive worked with Jeppesen and Rod Machados latest very boring ebookapps a bit They charge about the same amount but give you maybe 2 of what youll find in EEPP It really is true If you cant find it here you probably dont need to know it And with the most complete index Ive ever seen you can immediately find whatever youre looking for with a couple of taps no matter what subjectword you could possibly imagine One stop shopping for everything youll ever need for part 91 135 or 121 flying All explained in an easy to understand outline format in impeccable detail The cross references to the regsAIM and other fed docs including case law pulls it all together to make everything crystal clear in a fun entertaining and often humorous way The ultimate gouge for interviews check rides or recurrent The list of interactive highlighting drawing note adding and even picture adding editing features is remarkable and all work flawlessly with this latest version Customize it any way you like Jeppesen and Machado give you very close to zero in this department and neither one even has an index I LOVE the instant Google search of any selected text or regulation What a fantastic tool for further research When I find something interesting on the net I can copy paste any text or screen shot into an imbedded note anywhere in the app for future reference How cool is that Its also a great place to collect and store diagrams and close up pics of my current aircrafts systems Then if my eyes need some relief I can select an entire page of text and Siri will read it to me at hyperspeed drilling it into my head like a fire hose Just one more entertaining way to implant it into whats left of my feeble brain EVERYTHING EXPLAINED is an incredibly complete in depth collection of aviation knowledge and wisdom that is a true work of art Its like having your own private mentor at your service 247 Whether youre a student or an airline captain well worth it at many times the price THANK YOU RICHIE                 Absolutely incredible It really does explain EVERYTHING for every pilot

The app has a major glitch I can not keep it on for more than few seconds before the darn thing switches off So dont buy it unless this bug is fixed or your money is gone for absolute nothing     Keeps shutting down

App is basically the book in a digital format which is nice since you have the ability to search etc Only complaint is that the app does tend to crash at random times and loses highlighted items If this were to be remedied it would be a 5 star app           Overall good but somewhat buggy

Thank you It had some glitches with iOS8 at first but now works flawlessly I love this book and its great to have it on my iPad now This book has been my sole goto book for reference and job interview prep for many years To see it as an app greatly enhances its value The new Radio Manual chapter is handy I also love all the features of this app which make searching for words and topics a breeze I use it all the time while flying The author has done an amazing job and continues to add useful info Keep up the good work                 Amazing

Finally the book is made available for the ipad could never buy it because I fly out of country and nobody will deliver I thought the book was expensive at 59 but everyone says its worth it So I buy the app for a ridiculous 70 Horrible Its just a book in a app format Nothing exciting at all Other book formatted exactly the same such as the Rod Machado books cost 24 The final negative is the pages Tons of words caps underlines all jammed into whatever space is available Super difficult to read It can be used for reference but not to sit down and read for an hour No way Really disappointed     Total rip off

Several years ago I purchased this book in hardcopy because their were several reviews stating that it was the only book ever needed by the professional as well as novice pilot to have in their flight bag So I took the bait and ordered a copy Since that purchase I have owned seven of the nine editions that have been released In one word the book is indispensable Yetthe only thing that could have made it any better in this high techy world we now live in was to release it in digital format And in doing so the author has again outdone himself This app is well worth the price Because the book was more like a small tomb to keep info organizedthe app now has several features in doing exactly this Check it out You wont be disappointed                 Kudos to the author again

This book is the reason I was hired It really helped me prepare for the Job Knowledge Test Even after flying for more than 20 years I still learned a ton I must also say the author a publishing company are first rate When IOS 8 came out and there were technical issues with the app Mr Lengel himself sent me a hard copy at no cost while I waited for an update to the app Highly recommended                 Every pilot should have this book

I was dreading having to plow through the big dry Gleims ATP book to refresh my knowledge in preparation for an airline interview Boy was I surprised when I started reading Everything Explained The material is presented in a completed concise manor which makes it very easy to memorize I definitely would recommend Everything Explained Its nice to be able to blow up the text for easier reading                 Great way to study
