Epocrates Bugs + Drugs is a national antimicrobial susceptibility reference that provides location-specific bacterial resistance data to support clinical decision-making at the point of care. This app combines content from Epocrates Rx with lab data ...
I find this very useful for urine sensitivities should result in fewer callbacks As this app matures Id like to see this integrated into the AthenaEMR When Athena bought Epocrates I really expected more integration of Epocrates resources hopefully that will come in time Id also like to see this app add CDC flu tracking data perhaps other local infectious disease outbreaks Well done              Very nice initial offering
They went above and beyond with this one Thanks                 Outstanding
Excellent                 Student
I am a clinical pharmacist and use this multiples times a week Local doctors seem to pull cultures but forget to perform a sensitivity test and call asking what they should prescribe Having this app allows me to give them a very specific answer as it shows what others have been sensitive to                 Awesome App
Great UI                 Awesome
Pretty format and nice concept but data in this app is dangerously wrong Do not use for patient care or you will hurt someone     Inaccurate information
This app has been helpful with selection of appropriate antibiotics for various infections I see on a regular basis It compliments the culture and sensitivity              Helpful app
This is an excellent app especially for the first time Would like info including gram negative rods It is very polished and fast                 Excellent app
Seems like a helpful and easy to use app I wish it showed empiric treatments though ie gram negative rods              Useful and easy
I have concerns that the new cautions on quinolones causing neuropathy are not mentioned in adverse reactions           Bugs and Drugs
By background im an id physician This app is an interesting idea with the potential to be very useful But there is no organization of bacterial pathogens into gram positive or negative More importantly right now the susceptibility of these pathogens is not helpful Most isolates are urine and seem to be outpt data which is inherently a healthier population with less resistance For example pseudomonas resistance to cipro in a hospital may be up to 50 but according to this app is less than 10 percent This is not a replacement for sanford guide which admittedly is overpriced The data is derived from athenahealth emr a new emr product probably with limited market share which may be used more in outpt I would think hospital data would be more helpful A more robust data source would be necessary to make this helpful        Be careful with data
See antibiotic resistance in your area                 Excellent Resource
Sanford Guide app 2999 this free Nice work Epocrates One star off for not being able to search for specific bug instead of having to scroll through the list and no data for Vibrio or Plasmodium species              Goodbye Sanford Guide
Great for pointofcare medicine              Another great app from Epocrates
Excellent resource and a superb example of the value of central pooling of data for regional use                 Bugs Drugs
The format ease of use are astounding Epocrates presents only the data from CS testing localized to the practitioner It is up to each user to interpret the data and initiate proper treatment                 Brilliant format Know the limitations
This app is beyond amazing Keep it up                 Epocrates PLUS
I use this app frequently in the office Easy to use and lots of at hand information              Very useful
Our hospital antibiogram is always a couple years behind so this is great I only wish they had respiratory cultures too but I understand the data would be sparse since we dont get sputum cxs that oftenit would be nice though so we could argue against the overuse of levaquin by ED PAs in particular              Great App
This is a very pretty app but theres too much incorrect information Vancomycin for pseudomonas Gentamicin for group a strep Please do not guide any treatment based on this app     Lots of errors
You are looking at an innovative way to improve healthcare using information technology Is that even legal Support smart tools                 This
Our hospital used to do this when I was a resident but I dont have that where I am now Therere also 4 hospital systems and 3 states in our catchment area Any way to minimize resistance and improve the odds of successful treatment are most appreciated Great app nice interface lots of useful information                 Great Information
I dont know how this app is It crashes every single time     Crashes
Great app just use clinical judgement too If you are in a hospital setting they should supply you with an info card or sheet for just your institution Lean on that too This app is valuable tool                 Bugs and Drugs
Invaluable for practice on the go                 Superb
As always Epocrates come up with another useful medical app I use their apps multiple times every day and wouldnt want to try to practice medicine without them Keep them coming and thanks again                 Another great Epocrates app
Pretty layout great idea but desperately in need of editing The susceptibility information provided for many organisms is inappropriate and in some cases potentially dangerous The methods for inclusion in the reporting are not transparent This app should absolutely not be used in any decisionmaking     Inaccurate to the point of being dangerous
Neat that this pulls real data from local sources Beautiful app design Wish all apps were this good at presenting large data sets                 Neat app slick implementation
Fantastic design and usability Great concept I think I may order fewer culture and sensitivity labs Update Unlike another reviewer I am getting results from a 25 mile radius in Providence RI                 Love it
I am using latest version of the iphone 6     It cannot be downloaded
Amazing app Sleek designed and packed with information Super fast too whoever coded this definitely knew what they were doing Pretty awesome idea to be able to see the health conditions of your surroundings                 Freakin Awesome
This App seems to work OK technically but the data is VERY limited because many of the pathogens listed show results for fewer than 30 isolates Experts recommend having 50 isolates or more before publishing or relying on those results Also the geographic range extends out 425 miles so that is WAY beyond our metropolitan area and results may be skewed by resistance hotspots like New York City In order to be reliable at all this App needs to collect a LOT more isolates from within a 50 mile radius say not a 425 mile radius That is going WAAAAY too far to be helpful A 425 mile radius basically includes the entire East Coast of the US from where I am     Too Few Isolates Too Long a Distance
A very useful app Dont take it as the final word But still useful              Not perfect
woah                 5atar
I think the concept is great But I definitely wouldnt recommend using this app I dont understand why some antibiotics are even mentioned for some of the bugs For example why is there even a mention of Nitrofurantoin ciprofloxacin or levofloxacin under blood isolates under enterococcus Another example under pseudomonas why is there even a mention of TMPSMX or ceftriaxone That is absolutely outrageous and UNACCEPTABLE If an inexperienced clinician looks at that and decides to treat pseudomonas bacteremia with ceftriaxone because it says 100 susceptiblethats beyond malpractice Whoever consulted on this app OBVIOUSLY knows NOTHING about antibiotics     Dont bother Not accurate
I use this app frequently especially when I am starting antibiotic before culture results are completed                 My most used app
Inaccurate and not location specific This is not nearly what I would expect from epocrates     Not the epocrates I know
Great design very sleek and informative                 Great app
I use this on my internal med rotation Excellent tool                 Great app
Missing bugs C Difficile missing antibiotics ceftaroline for MRSA Generally very suspect data set Some susceptibilities are just plain wrong Get it right or quit The pretty interface does not mitigate lousy data The whole database is suspect     Dont treat patients based on this
Beautiful app with great info                 Great
This app does one thing and it does it amazingly well If you are anyone who prescribes antibiotics on a regular basis or nonregular basis check it out                 Simple Awesome
