Dragon Dictation 2.0.22
Customer ReviewsOnly missing a couple of things
This is a really good app. It seems to capture most everything I`m saying correctly. As other reviewers appointed out, it has the ability to append text to a recording you have already started. It has a funny way of editing word by word, but if you tap the keyboard icon in the lower left, you get your normal editing commands to fall back on if need be. I like how smart it is in being able to tell that there may be two choices for some words. When you tap a word you always get the option to delete, but sometimes you`ll get a choice if a specific word fit (fits) better in context. In this case tapping "fit" would show the other option "fits" as well as "delete".
I`m giving five stars, even though there are a couple of things missing. As another reviewer pointed out, there really does need to be a delete button to wipe out all the text if you want to start over. As it is now, to clear the page you either (a) need to close the app and launch it again, (b) click hold and drag from the built-in editor either from top to bottom or bottom to top to select all the text and delete it, or (c) bring up the keyboard, tap anywhere, highlight "select all", and then "cut" (my preferred method at this point). There`s room for a small "clear" or "cancel" button beside the keyboard icon, so I invite the developers to add this much-needed feature right on the main page. The second feature request, especially now with so many cloud services like box.net, Dropbox, Evernote, and even iCloud, is this: In the export pop-up window which shows "SMS, email, Facebook, Twitter, and copy", there needs to be another option called "open in". Tapping that button would bring up a list of all your installed apps which will accept pasted text. Selecting one of them would automatically switch to that app and paste the text you have just been dictating into it. Many apps are starting to use this concept effectively. For example, take a look at another exceptional voice recognition app: "Voice Dictation". Thanks for all your years of hard work on getting voice recognition to the marketplace. Although this isn`t quite Siri, it has its place, and is quite useful. Looking forward to continued improvements as this specialty field of apps matures. Awesome App!!!
It`s accurate! ????Don`t listen to the detractors - they probably work for a competitor or have food in their mouths or need speech lessons.???? It recognized when I said, "IBS," (short for Irritable Bowel Syndrome) when I thought for sure it would type, "eye pee yes," or some other silly nonsense! LOL! I also ???? how when you say,"period," or, "exclamation mark," or, "question mark," it actually puts those punctuations! Now, if it would only help me dictate my reviews... lol
AWESOME APP
This is a great app as I never have any problems with it recognizing my words. The others complaining need to take the food out of their mouths first. Two things could make this app better. First be able to attach to a existing text conversation instead of always starting a new one. Secondly waiting on it to read my contacts each time I start the program get old. Regardless, it`s a awesome app.
