Downloaded this while looking for something to pass the time I love scrabble and this game takes it to another level Only thing that would improve it is giving players random letter sets I think that would add to the difficulty if you got random letters rather than the same 48 each time                 Double Cross

I love it any word game for the most part is worth checking out and im so glad I did The auto hide keyboard is annoying tho I like the feature of dragging the tiles to the board opposed to typing Also there should be a recall button or return button to call all your tiles back at once because taking them off one by one gets old real fast Cant we have the option to refuse the famous peoples intellect Great game tho could be better with these small fixes              Great

I thought this would be the typical Scrabble game Boy was I incorrect This game makes one think hard when utilizing the letters I played against Mr Genius and had a ball even though he won I also enjoyed playing alone Keep up the great work by making more game like these                 Great Game

If you like word games this is a nice changeup from Scrabble Rather than gaming the board layout for double word and triple letter scores this game is more about the words themselves which makes for more interesting and longer words The computer opponents tend to hit you up with some goofy twoletter words to string together some serious multipliers but they also come up with some unusual selections that may send you off to a dictionary The autohide of the keyboardtiles is usually more annoying than helpful and if youre using tile mode removing unused tiles from play can be drag That said its a lot of fun while stretching your vocab and forcing strategic thinking              Fun with vocabulary

Fun original challenging intellectual beautiful engaging and inspiring this game is as enlightening as it is socially enriching What I am amazed by is that it is as enthralling to my 7 year old cousin as it is to me She and her sisters were so excited to find new words to cross and double cross that I believe this is as much a family game as it is a game for you and your linguisticallygifted friends I love playing against the iPad too because you get the flare of Twain and Austen and Shakespeare as you compete with their vocabularies and they quote their published works Its refreshing to find a new game when so many others are only variations on a theme Double Across shows the potential of the iPad to be both personal and dynamically social sophisticated and accessible beautiful and functional a game which is a guaranteed hit for now and times to come                 Fantastic app

I am obsessed with word games and this is my new favorite It is like Scrabble but easier and harder both at once This game has less to do with luck and permits some strategic playing And maybe it is silly but I get a strange sense of satisfaction when I beat Shakespeare at a word game Hows that for outrageous fortune smartypants I do wish that there were a way to control the sound within the game and I would suggest looking for quotes from the Bard that are more biting Finally it would be nice to have an ingame dictionary All of that being said it is already a great game and well worth the time              From a Word Game Junkie

Thanks for making this app free for a limited time It is wonderful to play a seemingly traditional word game without having to look out for the triple word or triple letter tiles And you can play with up to 5 players in person or online I cant think of anything that could make this app better than it already is Dont skip the guided tour Download and start playing ASAP                 totally awesome

Gameplay is great And aside from the fun you also get to practice searching for words Highly recommended for family play and also as a social game with your friends                 Wonderful

Downloaded and played a couple of rounds against the iPad Im actually pleasantly surprised with the quality and creativity of this game Fun spin on a scrabble like game Cant wait to try the multiplayer game I really Like the fact that you cant cheat like you can with scrabble or words with friends due to the different scoring and rules Very cool game and totally worth the low price                 Such a fun word game

This is a blast I just randomly downloaded this game and I am very impressed This game is very clever and addicting The word needs to get out that this is one of the best apps in the store It is fun to play and very educational                 Great game

Addictive turnbased game with good offline play as well I never write reviews Would like to see a few featureschanges One some sort of auto end to online games in nobody moves in a day or two number of games is capped around thirty and I hate quitting games where the other player hasnt responded in two days Or hoping the other player doesnt drop a good game Would like an optout where a player can ask to end the game and if no response eventually it ends Would also like a list of all the two and three letter words that have been used up in a particular game Finally the leaderboards are baffling and the ranking system needs to be explained in the faq                 Lots of fun

I play Words with Friends all the time where you have to wait a while to make your next move With Double Across you can play solo against your iPad where it can take on the persona of William Shakespeare or Jules Verne or others Its pretty cool to be able to say I just beat William Shakespeare at a word game Although Ive not done it yet there is a multi player mode as well Unlike traditional scrabble games Double Across rewards you for the number of letters played and connections made There is an excellent tutorial to get you started                 Excellent Word Game

The concept and execution are pleasantly engaging to me I find the challenge to cause focus without frustration Improvements i might suggest direct access to the meanings of unfamiliar words without having to leave the game or a list at the end of all the words used with their meanings easily seen Quite fulfills the basic requirements of a relaxing but exciting game patiencebringsunderstanding                 Challenging and Engaging

This is an awesome game a great twist on the old favorite Scrabble The only reason I give this game a 4 rather than a 5 star rating is because the game has some user interface bugs in it and the auto zoom and the keyboard autohide drive me crazy and they dont give you a way to turn it off Youre contunually resizing and repositioning the screen because their auto hide and auto scale jumps all over the place Get that fixed fix the little user interface glitches and this game is a home run Way more fun than Scrabble              Double Across

I love any type of word game but I have to ask how this is any different from your traditional Scrabble game Except for the fact that you compete against the great writers in theory and that quotes from their work is displayed when you form a common word I dont get what is so 21st century That being said any word game is a good game           Okay
