Donation Assistant® by TaxACT – Track & maximize your deduction for donations

I like that this app will sync with my TaxAct account when its time to do my returns The major problem I have with it is that it requires a password every single time the app has been accessed While I applaud the security feature use of an alternate form of identification such as PIN or touchid would be so much more convenient        Like it but cumbersome login

This app is useless I put in donations info Now it wont let me log in again despite entering correct info Dont waste your precious time     Terrible App

I really want to like this app but they really make it tough I am willing to tough out the clunky and confusing interface but seems like every so often it does something odd A few months ago the app refused to show me my data Now in September the app refuses to let me log in Its a great idea very poorly executed Luckily Taxacts main product is not this glitchy If it were Id drop it     Disappointing execution of a good idea

I cant sign in with the username and password I use on my computer and the app keeps freezing while I try to log in Do not use Just write your donations on a piece of paper     Horrible App

After itemizing over 100 items it all got deleted It took me forever to do all that     erased all my donations

This app is useless at least on iPad air It fails to save the data freezes and is nothing like the donation assistant that used to come bundled in the tax act software At least I only tried a couple of small donations before figuring out it was a failure Had I spent hours inputing data Id be steaming mad     Do Nothing Assistant

Ive been a TaxACT user for several years and have appreciated the software very much including Donation Assistant online This app has the right idea of coming up with a way to easily capture donations Unfortunately it is not easy flexible nor intuitive It took me quite a while to figure out how to search for an item and enter it Once it was entered I still havent figured out how to edit my entry At this point it is safe to declare the app worthless TaxACT its time to work on this app and make it useful     Great idea bad execution

Wish I had read more reviews of this Taxact Donation app before using Signed in today and all of the current year donations I had logged are gone Over 3000 worth Somebody should sue TaxAct     Lost all of my 2015 Donations

I really want this app to work It did although very poorly in the beginning This is such a good concept and if it was improved it could be great especially for those of us who use the TaxAct product It would be so much easier to be able to enter donations as they happen instead of it taking so much time during tax preparation Please fix this app     What happened

This would have been perfect except the screen doesnt scale to the iPad screen when the keyboard is open Makes it impossible to enter data     Perfect idea BUT doesnt work

I cant access the app App Store shows its downloaded on my iPad but it isnt there and wont open April 13 isnt a good time for this to happen     What happened

No way to record tax ID of charity No way import receipts from camera roll No way to speed up item entry eg to add separate clothing times you must burrow through the filtered menu of items each time        A good start but

Ive been entering info all year now its gone To make matters worse I keep getting an error while trying to sign in Im done     Terrible

I have set up monthly donations as well as the occasional ones I open up app it tells me to approve the reoccurring ones but nothing is there and the total is 0 Needs to be fixed     It used to work

Photo entry is spotty then stops altogether Photos and receipts do not come through in the emailed HTML report Pretty much a waste of time as so many records are lost     Tax act assistant fail

I had this app in a previous version and it worked well I updated the app and now it is not working I have trouble signing in Also I have not been able to add new donations or see itemization report of donations for the year The previous version was much better     Recent version does not work well

My phone autoupdated this app and it deleted THOUSANDS of dollars of donations from earlier this year     DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU HAVE DONATIONS ENTERED

I have been using this app to track my donations all year It regularly crashes losing some or all of your history If you use it keep a paper record of your entries You WILL need it     Dont count on it

added 30 items of clothing trudging through the menu again again adding photo must take the photo adding from saved photos causes file transfer error code 3 then the app crashed Took 10 attempts to log back in weird it kept saying my password was wrong Trying to get back to where i left off there were 2 sets of 20 items that were not accessible then everything was gone Went to bed disgusted was writing a 1star review decided i should check the app and voila everything is logged correctly Im putting it down to a DST system issue still im making a separate set of photos in case this comes up missing again next Feb           flaky

The other negative reviews are accurate The app is cumbersome buggy and will lock you outlose your data when it crashes Gives Taxact a major blemish Avoid     Craptastic

This is a wonderful concept but the app is cumbersome I had several long list of donated clothes and the app would log me out in the middle of using it due to a predefined time limit I can see if it was idle for a few minutes but I was typing into the app My only other complaint I was unable to edit an entry after saving I incorrectly entered the wrong date and could do nothing about it Will be uploading tonight and will find out if I can edit data after this step        Expect better

I was excited to download and try this app because it takes forever to enter all my donations at once when I do my taxes each year I entered one dates donations easily and then went to add another dates donations but it kept putting it all together with the first one I cant get them to separate Also when you try to click on icons nothing happens Hopefully they will update it soon because it is a great idea        Needs improvement

I have an iPhone 4s This app worked great last year for entering my donations well there were a few glitches here and there but overall it worked But this years version calendar year 2015 is glitching when you enter an item and go to add another it takes you back to the subcategory you were just in instead of to the main menu Hitting the back buton doesnt workit takes you back to the add anotherdone screen And searching for individual items doesnt work as a stopgapno results are found for the most basic lookups Ive downloaded the app several times in case there has been an update but it still glitches It is a very helpful app when it works but useless when it doesnt Now Ill have to go back to the cumbersome way of recording my donations I wonder if there is another tax software program that has a donation app that actually works I would switch if so     Last years version worked2015 doesnt

Should have read reviews first could have saved the 45 minutes of entering an itemized list before it glitched and dumped all my data 2014 was great now even though it recognizes 2015 not working at a all     Piling on

I cant believe TaxAct released this app Has anyone there tested it Its impossible to use for itemizing items donated to Goodwill or similar The search function is a great idea as is the app as a whole but it just doesnt work Half the time I cant even log in because it thinks my password is incorrect Once in all functions are hit or miss This morning I could search for items this afternoon it told me no items were found for the search term shirt Then my entire list of donations on the home screen disappeared including cash donations I entered a month ago Luckily those are still there in the Reports section Half the time you touch a button or menu nothing happensEverything is buggy glitchy and frustrating I gave it 2 stars rather than 1 because I was able to have it track monetary donations correctly        Completely nonfunctional

Totally agree with the review that stated it worked in 2014 but doesnt in in 2015 It seldom recognizes my login info It freezes Wont save items Items description doesnt always come up So many problems Please TaxAct fix this App It truly was wonderful last year and is a valuable tool Please fix 2015     Horrible

This application is SUPPOSED to make entering and tracking your donations easy It is the exact opposite All of my donations from last year disappeared from the app Anyone that has used this app can tell you that is a lot of work to enter donations The process is very slow cumbersome and it will stop working at any point This app said that I didnt have an Donation Assistant account when I tried to import my donations to my 2014 tax return I triplechecked my records and my account info was correct After multiple service requests emails and phone calls I can honestly say that Service and Support for this application is nonexistant So I created an account using the info I already had The app said my NEW account was active I logged in and all of my previous donations reappeared for 5 minutes The app soon froze and crashed my iPhone The iPhone restarted and my account didnt exist again All of my donation records were gone again Youre better off creating a donations list using one of the previous years TaxAct filing software instead Go to Deductions tab then Itemized Deductions and click the Donations Assistant or Enter Myself button Avoid this app like the plague because it is a total waste of time     Horrible design unstable interface poor servicesupport

I had to delete this application it is totally unusable It wont accept my login 50 of the time it wouldnt even accept my first donation I clicked the submit button and nothing happened after one login all the itemization options were missing the only thing that seemed to work was adding a charity The worst practical application I have ever tried to use period Like another reviewer I have been using Taxact for filing for over 10 years they need to remove this entirely and try again Something this bad will clearly lose them customers Very disappointed     Terrible application from a usually solid company

This app is an embarrassment It has me rethinking my patronage of their other products     Miserable

When I initially downloaded this app I thought it would make my life so much easier You see I recently donated multiple times and used this app to track the items Except now they are all gone I found a way to email the report but it never sends So I still do not have access to my itemizations VERY VERY DISSATISFIED WITH TAX ACT     Disappointed

Do not install this app Its a piece of junk Doesnt work at all I only gave it one star because you have to give something to post the review but I really give it a zero     Terrible App

Agree with previous review that it is a useful app to keep track of tax donations on an ongoing basis I had the same problem with getting into a loop while trying to add several items for one receipt Reserving judgment and more stars until bug is fixed and it transfer info to TAXACT at tax time        Use file but buggy

Run dont walk from this app I managed to create some charities and add some donations to them but now I cant even make a new donation without it insisting that Im adding my first charity and then theres no way to cancel out of the process without just killing the app It also keeps telling me I need to approve some recurring donations by going to a menu that does not exist Terrible     Terrible

Loved this app at first A perfect companion to our charitable contributions But now I can not add anything to make bad matters worse I cant log in to the app It states it does not recognize me Please update this app        Lovehate

The app is unstable While entering my first donation that I was building up over time it lost my records Then returned errors when I tried to log in again after I logged out to see if that would restore my donation Now I cant get in at all In addition to this when you start a donation it fixes the date on when you start recording not when you donate The interface is clunky to and it take a long time to find the right categories     Can I rate it zero

All of a sudden my donation list is missing Before that I thought it was fine Though they need a better way to search through updating the monthly donations I have to search each one to see if it due Please fix the bugs        Works but needs updating

I have recently switched from turbo tax to tax act I make a number of cash gifts throughout the year and have appreciated turbo tax its deductible website So I was thrilled to see tax act offer something for mobile devices I donate cash and have never used the donate stuff option so please dont take my silence on that aspect as favorableunfavorable Overall its really handy for recording those spur of the moment donations The one buggy aspect that is annoying is that when you set up a recurring donation and are complete it pops you back to add another recurring donation Despite my attempts of selecting done or trying to return to home Im caught in this endless do loop I had to shut down the app and reopen it to break the cycle Im giving 2 stars for now I will still use and check back in after tax time Update 122014 The most recent update invited me to login I cant login through app I logged in on the website successfully but the app doesnt allow any obvious means to contact them and now I cant navigate past the login prompt VERY frustrating hoping they will contact me     Buggy again

I have had the same experience as the others Crashes no way to cancel when you put something in wrong stuff disappearing after it says it was saved It also moved my 2014 stuff into my 2015 folder I LOVE you their online tax software but this app is HORRIBLE     Same as others

Ive used Tax Act for more than 10 years and loved it however this app wont even let me create an account to use it When I click create on iPhone 6 I get a blank white screen     Cant even set up an account

All of the other reviews are spot on After entering more than 500 in donations over several weeks all of a sudden I cant enter any more donations Press continue and the screen just flashes Logged out then I couldnt log back in due to username or password is incorrect Tried resetting password Would not accept my security questions even though I only have one pet so Im pretty sure I know his name Killed the app No luck Rebooted the phone At last I can log in Surprise ALL my donations are gone Total crap I will not be using any of their products next year     Wish zero stars was possible

I have an iPad Air and would prefer a real iPad interface but I can live with the huge iPhone look in portrait mode if it worked I started playing with this by adding a charity and a single donation I found the screen taps only worked about 50 of the time Okay annoying but I forged on tapping until it took I entered a single charity and donation just to see how it worked I couldnt modify it couldnt delete it No buttons for editing at all Better get it right the first time I finally saw that I could delete the whole charity so I did that Now that deleted charity is hanging around in the charity list just disabled apparently forever but at least the donation is gone I tried again entering a bulk donation a bag or box of stuff not itemized I entered it twice but it still says no donations or charities defined for 2014 If this ever works it could be really nice it even has photo options for recording the items and receipts and a nice report option but its not there yet Im not trying it again until theres an update     Not ready for prime time

I thought it was wonderful for awhile entered thousand of dollars of donations then when the app updated on 1232014 it all disappeared Geesh     iPad donations disappear when app updates

This is a total waste of time to try to use The work flow is poor and It doesnt let you enter and track mileage expenses Who could have imagined an app where you go to create a deduction and they leave off the Cancel button Who ever designed this application should be fired and blacklisted     Terrible I should have listened to other reviews
