DisplayPad is a cutting edge app that allows you to use your iPad as a second display for your Mac. You can extend your desktop with a wireless display that you can carry around with ...
Not clearly stated     Doesnt work with Windows
I hate to lower my rating but without Yosemite support this is my only choice If you get the Ysupport Ill update my review to 5Stars     5 stars to 1 star
I enjoyed Displaypadbut its not optimized for Yosemite On Yosemite Displypad slows down my system severely and that was not the case in Mavericks If youre using an iPad 1 and an older version of OS X then Display pad might be for you If you have upgraded to Yosemite then maybe it is time to move you iPad 1 to the coffee table as an Ereader        Only monitor option for iPad1
xdisplay and splahtop use over 50 percent cpu while doing nothing displaypad is only 10 to 15 percent on my 24ghz core 2 duo just becareful if u have lion and an older mbp with the incompatible display card                 uses much less cpu than competittors
Waste of money App doesnt work Crashes every time I load up Complete junk I would change my rating if it was half decent but I literally cant use it at all 3 seconds and then crashes I wish I could give less than one star     Crashes on every load
This app is pretty decent It works but its extremely laggy and Im on the most recent devices new iPad and MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion Spend the extra money and get Air Display Also it needs retina display support The icon looks horrible           Decent app
In a word crap Id like my 3 bucks back please cause I dont think Ill ever use this App Constant connection failures Its so slow its painful and too tiny to see on the iPad Also there is no way to change which direction youre mouse enters from the computer limiting how you set it up     looks good on paper but buyer be ware
Developers sleep too long see Air Display and their Retina support        Weak Lion support no Retina support
Due to a bug in Mac OS X 107 DisplayPad does not function correctly on systems with the NVIDIA 9400M We are in communication with Apple and hope that the issue will be resolved soon GFYS     this app should be pulled until it works with Lion
Technically it works it displays your desktop on an iPad Beyond that its slow and the mouse cursor moves slow Also had an issue with it disconnecting and had to kill the app on the iPad to be able to get it working again Wish apple had a return policy for apps        Not worth it
Extremely disappointed very slow and pixelated It appears to simply be VNC branded Xdisplay is a much slicker option awful UI but amazing performance Debating trying AirDisplay but dont feel like shelling out 10 and being disappointed Again     Its just VNC
Doesnt work with the new Lion OS Caveat Emptor        Not with Lion
Update Mountain Lion will remove the kernel extensions if you install Mt Lion Hint dont try to reinstall them No update in a long while waste of money Its promising if a bit laggy But it disconnects from the mac quite regularly even with solid wifi If Im working and counting on a second or third display its more of a distraction to have to reestablish the connection and hunt down the lost windows that used to be displayed than it is a time saver It might be useful for some situations but it is not steady enough to use as a real extra display for doing real work I wrote the developer no response     Almost works
Ive owned DisplayPad for about a year it is the only display app Ive tried or needed The price is good and the app works as advertised Negatives include This classification of software does not seem to be using hardware acceleration In fact graphics acceleration on the Mac takes a noticeable hit GUI animations jerk No 5star reviews because all apps of this classification seem to have this issue judging from writeups I have had issues keeping the connection between iPad and Mac if the WiFi connection quality is not above average Generally I recommend DisplayPad if you have a need for pallet to the side of your main screen and have a good WiFi network              It Works
Dudes I bought this app over many other apps around and spent that money on the app that doesnt start It actually crashes before it happens anything It better be fixed soon     Doesnt start
Bad image quality           Bad
If you have a MacBook Pro with GeForce 9400m this software will just mess up your lifesticky icons and all sort of crap Moreover the company making this software shut down for good so forget about updates Total waste of money     DO NOT BUY
While running the app my computer will black out and make me login every couple of minutes Not too keen on that        Cool app when working
It works really well I use it all the time as a second monitor I only wish it allowed multitasking for a few minutes so I could go into another iPad app and do something and then pop back to DisplayPad to continue working on my Mac              Great flawless second display for my Mac
Company cant keep up with apple OS updates VERY DISAPPOINTED Company will not respond to emails either VERY HARD TO WORK WITH Buyer Beware     Dont buy if you have OS X Lion 1072
I actually purchased this app Can I please get a refund Thank you                 Important
Easy setup and the 3 price tag make this one a winner but dont expect much in the way of quality Very pixelated and sometimes certain windows like the browser window in Chrome get knocked out and show the desktop through The other thing I cant wrap my head around is why the size of the mouse cursor quadruples on the iPad display Anyway the price is right and its a passible second display in a pinch              Setup was a snap Quality not so good
Wont work with Late 2008 MacBook Pro They wont issue me a refund either     Doesnt work
I purchased both their iPad iPhone apps this morning over the Atlantic traveling at 500mph on an international heading to Cape Town South Africa in MileHigh Club territory at a speed of 500mph Up there and terrafirma both work seamlessly and certainly in a league of their own comparatively speaking With that wellknown Mac 3D Fish screensaver activated they reside in WOW Land They certainly arent Windows friendly for sure an avi or mkv file spluttered with a complete grey wash over each Immediately after converting same to mp4 they performed like Swiss watches                 Like a Swiss watch 800kmh
Installed the app on my iPad 1 and the application on my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard including needing to restartI think its sort of illmannered when application installers require this nowadays but anyway I can launch the app and it shows up on the mac but when I try to connect it just sets my MacBook Pros display to some lowres stretched resolution briefly then the application quits and it resets to higher resolution Nothing ever gets shown or mirrored to the iPad Finally received a reply from DisplayPad support saying that this is a known issue and to request a refund If you have a 32bit mac BEWARE     NOT compatible with 32bit macs
I own air display and I boult this app because I could not get 2 tablets to work at once and red you could do that with this app Well you can and it works great I have no complaints with air display either but for 299 I think is app is the better deal Air display does have a few more features but this one works just fine for me              Great little app
Ive a massive desktop system in my studio and have gotten quite used to having two large displays For traveling though Ive been making do with my MacBook Air currently running Lion and miss the second monitor Now if I bring along my iPad I have two monitors when on the road perfect so long as theres decent wifi networks otherwise things get tricky with trying to work with adhoc networks There is some lag now and again but for the money I cant complain it works perfectly well and is easy to set up Its also great for using the iPad as a third small display with my Mac Pro workstation which is running Snow Leopard Thanks for making this                 Awesome for traveling
Does not work on Mavericks 1091 on my 2009 Mac Pro and on my 2013 MacBook Air 13 with the 12 hour battery life Great concept though Too bad Apple cant build that into Mavericks and iOS7 My iPad is a 3rd Generation with LTE and iOS704     Does not work on Mavericks or 2009 Mac Pro
I too got screwed out of It wont work unless youve got a really old Mac or a brand new Mac Which makes no fn sense Fix it     Fix this POS
Failed to work A waste of money and time Buy the 10 one Ive heard it works New iMac Mavericks OS everything else works but this app     Doesnt work at all
Works great What is missing is support for background processing so that it doesnt need to reconnect every time one switches to another app              Needs background processing
I love this app I use it with my laptop all the time Not sure why some people here say it does not work with lion Works fine for me with lion                 Works perfectly
Amazing app Very easy to use                 I love this app
Hasnt been updated in over a year     Updates
I have a 15 MBP running Mountain Lion DisplayPad works perfectly with my laptop using the Normal Resolution setting on my iPad 3 LIke anything there is a bit of human nature to overcome with an app like this Most of us are use to using one screen and switching between screens as necessary DisplayPad makes that unnecessary and once you get used to the convenience of having two screens available with no effort at all youll wonder how you ever got along without this app Let me put it another way If the first computer you ever had came with two display screens and that is all you ever knewthen one day someone took away one of your display screensyou would scream bloody heck A great time savor Makes many computer tasks much more user friendly Recent upgrades have made the app even better Keep up the good work Clean Cut Code                 Once you get use to this App youll wonder how you ever got along without it
UPDATE I just wanted to say again how much I LOVE this app One of the best uses I found is when Im researching something on my computer and want to show it to someone else I simply drag it over to my iPad and walk over to them rather than having to try and persuade them to come sit down next to my computer Suhweet Its like its the 21st century or something One of the many ways that the iPad rules FWIW I still use Snow Leopard and have never had any issues If you have an iPad and a Mac and can never have enough monitor space GET THIS APP Its a slick way to utilize your iPad when youre working on your computer Like others have said any little windows palettes toolbars etc that you like to keep handy you can just put on the iPad Im a programmer and like to keep terminal windows running on it for active servers etc Its super easy to setup and has worked for me without a hitch You can also interact with the displayed contents via touch Love it The refresh rate is not going to be as fast as your regular display but I suspect thats from the WiFi connection and not the app or iPad itself If Clean Cut code could figure out a way to utilize the hardwired USB connection that would be sweet but Im not sure if iOS development supports that kind of thing I havent seen any other apps that do that either                 Buy it
Not usable currentlybut it has promise for the future if they can improve it Sadly there have been no updates in nearly 2 years The mouse pointer moves more responsively than Splashtop XDisplay On really crowded WiFi like some cafes changes to the display like window scrolling get slowbut unlike with Splashtop the cursor itself still stays quick A MacBook Air iPad and a simple stand gives you lots of real estate yet it all fits in a tiny netbook bag However I give up It disconnects every few minutes Even on a superstrong WiFi signal shared with nobody else Then all your windows move around and you have to relaunch the app and manually restore all your windows the way you had them Work a few more minutes maybe 20 maybe 2 and then it happens again I use it with Lion on 2011 MacBook Air 11 which IS one of the supported Lion machines and I made sure everything is the latest version Still unreliable It also disconnects immediately if you use any other app on your iPad Not acceptable You need to be able to use your iPad for a moment and have this remain connected in the background at least for a few minutes     Simple and fast but unreliable
The program just keeps crashing on my Mac and never connects to my iPad Waste of money     Keeps crashing
Super update                 Works again
The app works fine except that I can neither leave it not even for a second nor lock my iPad without the virtual screen being disconnected from the OS so when I reconnect to DisplayPad I have to rearrange my windows Unfortunately the developer does not respond to emails so he does not seem to care I will gladly raise my rating when I get my email answered           App works fine developer unresponsive
Love this app Ive tried a few apps to use a iPad as an extra display I have chooses this over air display which is what I previously used This app has little to no lag and the desktop app does not cause issues when using multiple displays like air display does                 Great App
My MacBook monitor is dying so I sought out an app like this to function not only as a secondary monitor but as a primary monitor On Snow Leopard an average wifi connection and an iPad 1 the app is wonderful Simple to use and quick to implement in a few seconds The refresh rate is a little low for watching videos and the touchscreen cursor is probably more trouble than its worth but those arent problems unique to this app so I didnt let them affect my grade Overall well worth the three bucks                 Great Value
Doesnt support Lion doesnt support the new iPad Abandoned product Do not buy     Never got updated
i accidentally pressed buying button plz help me getting refund                 sorry
I bought this before reading the most recent reviews The older reviews are positive and I wasted money This app sort of works with OS 10103 Yosemite and a late 2013 MacBook Pro When using it as a 2nd monitor it defaults as your main monitor and response time is slow That also means that if you want to use your laptop to do work and have a reference window open on the iPad you have to move a lot of windows As I said the cursor response time on the iPad is very slow so dont plan on doing any real work Interestingly when my MacBook is connected to my Cinema Display I can configure any of the 3 monitors as my main monitor just not when the Cinema Display is not connected        Buyer Beware
DisplayPad was the best thing to happen to my computer Was is that keyword that kills it The idea of having a 3rd monitor one that could move with me or around my desk sounded like a gift too good to be true Unfortunately that was the case I downloaded DisplayPad and its sister program on my iMac running OS X 1092 Setup was fast and easy my computer recognized it as another monitor immediately I was even able to tinker with the position and a few deeper settings I was really happy the first day I used it However for the next few days following I didnt need to have my iPad as a third monitor so the DisplayPad program was not in use However I noticed that my iMac had drastically increased in temperature At first I was not too alarmed with spring just starting I thought the heat was because of the change in weather so I just ignored it It was not until I opened my Activity Monitor that I noticed that my ReportCrash was eating over 100 of my CPU percentage Worried of what could be using so much CPU I searched for hours to find the culprit I deleted old programs ran diagnostics and searched countless forums for help to no avail That is until I came across a post that had the same issue with a competators iPad display program On the possibility that DisplayPad was causing the same issue the poster had I uninstalled everything as described by DisplayPads developers website and even using a third party uninstalling program that found more files from DisplayPad than I would have deleted had I just trashed it After the uninstal I restarted my computer and to my relief my ReportCrash never poped up again Apparenly DisplayPad on my iMac was constatnly crashing something having to do with the VDCAssistant forcing my ReportCrash to infinately send crash reports overloading my computers CPU A wonderful idea for a product with one fatal flaw that makes it completely useless for me and dangerous for my computer     One Fatal Flaw
Trying to use it at the local Starbucks and doesnt work Signal strength is not an issue I understand there are some bugs the creators of DisplayPad are trying to work around but in the meantime unless your using it at home its useless     Not So Great
Makes my Mac Pro crash crash crash     Warning
This app STILL doesnt work with Lion on systems NVIDIA cards Lion has been out for almost a year Cmon Man How much longer do we have to wait to use this And why does Apple still sell this when it doesnt work Lets get this fixed     Whats the Deal
This app works as well or better than the others I have tried I am able to use while tethering on my iPhone by sharing my MacBooks internet connection My issue is that every time I disconnect and reconnect I need to quit the app on the MacBook and reopenotherwise I just get the trying to connect dialogue forever And no reply from the developer        Works kinda
