Deep Weather

I live in a weird part of country for weather Getting this software to give me a real info for my area is really hard But I can see that this software is well thought out and I like it If I lived anywhere else other then the Cascade Shadow on the Colombia River this would work really well              It can be handy

The app is not parsing the parts of the NWS text product properly For my local office I do not see the full discussion Other locations show different parts of the product indicating a lack of consistency on the part of the forecast office and their headers           Some bugs

Easy to use yielding a much better understanding of the forecasts and likely accuracy Only downside is abbreviations used in the text Would be great if the app had an abbreviations page listing them all with their definitions              Great adjunct to regular forecasting apps

Although I dont get all the anachronisms I love this site because it goes in depth in explaining whats on the way weatherwise                 Great Weather Site

If youre interested in the story and the science behind the weather reports and the computer models and human thinking behind the probabilities you should definitely be reading your local NWS forecast discussions And if you want access to those discussions on your phone this app does the job beautifully The developer is responsive and friendly and continually improves this app                 Important Excellent

A valuable source for taking a quick glance at the national weather service in depth forecast discussion in any given area of the country Only problem is a occasional randomness in how the data is snatched from the NWS site IE Categories are sometimes created on the Deep Weather page that arent really categories just the start of sentences or paragraphs on the NWS site              Deep Weather

Deep Weather has what is missing in all other weather programs in the store that Ive seen quick and detailed text forecasts observations and model discussion directly from NWS Weather Forecast Offices around the US These are the actual forecast products released by NWS that you can get from the WFOs online but in an easy to read format that loads FAST I am a licensed Ham who volunteers with SKYWARN as a storm spotter an avid gardener and spend a lot of time being active outdoors for work and play Deep Weather is exactly what I needed to supplement the Doppler radar program I use It is simply excellent This app is free and adsupported The ads thankfully do not interfere with operation No popups or forced video junk The Pro version removes the tiny ad block at the bottom and allows you to select a home location By default Deep Weather loads data from the closest WFO by using GPS to fix your position The free version is so good that I havent had any need to upgrade I will though just to support the developer This app is also small and extremely light on data usage Works great even in spotty 2G EDGE coverage and has acceptable performance in 1G GPRS In short it performs out in the sticks in bad coverage areas where others fail Deep Weather is the opposite of bloatware it does one thing and does it well If you want eye candy longer load times and oneglance tempprecip icons get something else There are a bunch of really nice apps like that If you want fast complete highly detailed NWS text forecast products you can rely on GET DEEP WEATHER                 The Real Deal A MUST Have

This app gives you the true NWS meteorological reasoning behind the forecast A true wx junkies or pilots must have app and well worth the in app upgrade The app functions simply and is perfect every time Ive ever used it Thank you for providing us with a great app                 Outstanding

This is a nice app and provides the same text that one can find on the NWS Forecast Office websites These discussions come straight from the forecasters observations As one who uses these discussions daily in my job I appreciate having this information readily available on my iPhone I would rate this app a 5 but at times the discussions dont seem to update in a timely manner and it would be helpful to have the ability to look at previous discussions              Benefit of the Doubt

The best part about this app is the ability to read the comments pertaining to the current forecasts which allows you to have a better understanding of how the weather will really behave I use it for aviation and it is invaluable                 Great app

I have a few weather apps but rely on this one when I want a little more than a brief forecast I love the detailed descriptions of the current weather and the discussion of what is occurring around me The discussion is updated several times a day Ive had no problems with this app No other one like it I really enjoy it The only improvement I might suggest is a key for the abbreviations they use in their discussion                 Nice app

This is a great app for you WX junkies out there who want a quick and clean way to read NWSs text weather forecasts and supporting discussions without having to go directly to the NWS web page In a future release itd be nice to have a way to save NWS stations to a favorites list A BIG thank you to the developer UPDATE Another suggestion to the developer Please add a screen within the app listing all the abbreviations used in the NWS forecasts which can be found in a glossary on the NWS web page This would eliminate the need to leave the app to go look them up Thanks                 UPDATE Digging Deep into WX

Not naming names but A weather channel started its life educating viewers about weather including forecasting Over the years theyve dumbeddown their predictions from isobars and thermoclines to colorful blobs Deep Weather is a great source for what REAL meteorologists are observing It allows me access to what theyre seeing so I can apply it to my decades of experience living in the area I know what happens when various systems move across the Plains or come off the Great Lakes heading toward my area Deep Weather has become my first resource for what to expect from the weather DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT if you prefer colorful graphicsthis is advanced weather information written by meteorologists FOR meteorologists But if youre a weather nerd this app is a MUST HAVE                 I dig it
