Ive tried out a few of the dice apps and this one is not only the best but it has the most potential as well Really looking forward to being able to save frequently used rolls The sound effects are a little harsh I guess But they dont detract from the app best of the dice apps so far
I wont repeat the pros from everyone else but I will make a few UI suggestions MOST rolls are a of dice and a modifier Right now when you press a dice nothing happens It should fill in the dice in the roll I shouldnt HAVE to say 1 and then press the d10 to get 1d10 It should be the default
Second I shouldnt have to put in the That should also be the default So if I press d10 and 5 the screen should put in 1d10 5 Similarly if I at any time press a it should flip the plus to a minus These are just usability so as not to frustrate a user by forcing them to enter in everything the long way One more usability tweak Each time I tap the dice it should add another one to the roll Eg d10 d10 3 should cause a 2d10 3 to be put in the roll bar If you implement these things I think most people would agree it just became a 5 star roller particularly as d20 dice Pro is now a paid app
Thanks Best Roller but still needs more tuning
Dicenomicon
Benefits
Physics Engine Adds to realistic dice interaction and is not simply a random number generator
Versitility Able to handle a broad geanre of games requiring dice like White Wolf games where the dice measure successes and failures
Preset Dice You can save common rolls so they can be rolled at the press of a button
Aestetics the Dice being rolled look good this is a vanity issue not a functionality one
Drawbacks
Limited Dice Unable to handle more then 50 dice at once
Learning curve Some of the formulae needed to do complex rolls can be difficult to understand
Dice Pro
Limitations
Crashes Large number of dice crash or lock the iphoneItouch over 5200
Limited gaming systems Cant handle other systems like Shadowrun or White Wolf gaming needs
Random number generator Dice are not just random numbers they interact with each other which is not present with out a physics engine
Benefits
Quick This gives results very fast
Large number of dice Able to handle a roll of 5000 dice at once
Over all Dicenomicon is the superior program for the gamer who as needs other then D20 Dicenomicon Vs Dice Pro
