Though expensive this is a powerful and stable program that lets one compare and contrast cultures of different regions countries or your own personal profile across 5 dimensions When used properly it can be a very useful tool for international business people expats or trailing spouses However one must heed the disclaimer and remember that you cannot paint all with the same brush Culture is based on statistical averages and is therefore full of stereotypes and generalizations especially when one is discussing culture from large countries with highly diverse populations such as the US Russia China and India                 Worth the cost heed the disclaimer

The Hofstede 5D Methodology is quite interesting and useful for determining potential challenges or risk when contemplating or executing a multicultural effort or project If youre using any form of personality scoring methodology on yourself staff or clients youll find the Hofstede country perspective quite interesting and enlightening This app not only presents the average 5D scores for countries and allows for sidebyside comparison but it presents a 25 question test to determine a personal score which the app allows you to create and name as many as you wish The app also allows you to compare any saved personal score against any given country Good Stuff But as noted in the tool and by other reviews be cautious to not generalize cultures I would encourage anyone using this app to refer to the web for more complete background on the 5D model Note to app developers can you allow the app to push images to video output so I can project this during meetings              Great Methodology Very Interesting App

Im very sad because this app came so highly recommended I paid for the paid version Now all I get is an opening screen with ZERO function None of the menus work and I cant find how to get a refund of the 2499 I apparently wasted Sad too because I really appreciate the researcher work the app is formed around     App doesnt work

If youve ever wondered about the differences between the French and the Germans or Americans and Chinese this app will sort of tell you Itll draw a graphic comparison anyway and a useful one at that if you read the explanations and dig into it Take a look at the website if you want some background on how these measures were developed its fascinating reading and this has got to be one of the most interesting apps in the iTunes store If you interact with people from different cultures its also quite useful Theres supposed to be a free Lite version coming if you want to get a taste of it but the country comparisons and tips for dealing with coworkers managers customers make this version well worth it Great app                 Practical idea for a shrinking world

I found the app most interesting but wonder about the validity of the self test Is there data on this I also wonder if you will be including more countries such as South Korea Is the data from this app the same as the Hofstede website The app might be strengthened if it were more overtly tied with the large bodies of research           Helpful but needs further development

This app provides a useful mobile reference for people already familiar with Hofstedes 5D model However for those unfamiliar with this model of intercultural communication the feedback is confusing You specify your own country eg the US and a country with which you want to compare eg China but the tips that are generated mix tips for Americans about Chinese with tips for Chinese about Americans Understanding the model enables me to figure out which is which but could very well create problems if you get the tips wrong This is an easy fix for the app designers and no one should waste money on this app until it is fixed        Confusing muddle of recommendations
