App is great but now that the iPhone X is out it needs an update         Major need of an update Vivaladiamond

the only difference I see is that there is color noise in the photo the app took which is worse than having luminance noise         Doesn t work well on the X 👀👂👃👅👄

The app does exactly what it claims to do and does it very well I don t use it all that often because my go to camera app ProCamera has a setting named LOWLIGHT that is nearly as good as this app I only turn to Cortex Cam when the ProCamera result is inadequate                     Very good app but I don t use it often The Fiddl3r

I was concerned to read some of the negative reviews but figured I could roll the dice for 3 Admittedly the best result in sharpness comes from shooting a stabilized phone but the dramatic improvement in low light quality even hand held is astonishing The rendering of improved shadow detail is remarkable and the noise reduction superb I can t wait to use it on subject matter beyond the preliminary test shots I have no idea why others describe a poor experience but I m very impressed                     Astonishing on my 7 drfoto

This app is truly not for the selfies or taking pictures of anything moving that may move during the exposure process The exposure time is long especially on default and non default settings which requires zero movement of your subject otherwise you get a ton of blur This would be good for shooting stationary items in low light but don t think that this will replace your iOS camera app I want my money back     Too slow mfmccoy

I read the rave reviews and paid for the app for my iPhone 7 and I ve tried everything to get a sharp picture but nothing is as sharp as the camera app It s probably ok if all you do is view the pictures on a small screen and you re not too demanding but it certainly doesn t live up to the hype     I d like my 3 back Granji

My favorite version of Cortex Cam is 1 97 This latest version makes pictures in low light seem very grainy That wasn t the case for version 1 97 Instead the picture came out smooth and clear with a shadow enhance option toggle Maybe it s just the iPhone 5s But I hate the latests update and prefer 1 97 so that s why I use it instead It s the best for iPhone 5s             Least favorite version Using this for sometime

The app seems to work not quite as well on the iPhone 7plus It works fine on the 5s On the 7plus the snaps were intervals apart causing the light trail to skip It s also loud as it takes multiple snaps I know the hardware is capable of taking multiple shots in matter of seconds Also please add a slider for manual focus Update 4 10 2017 it seems like you have updated the app with Raw Video options It s working great now Thank you Changing my vote to 5 stars                     Great app but could use updating Dukester2010

Recently when doing photos on the app back in ios 9 it was able to take photos however when it is in ios 10 2 1 it does not process the photos well this may need an update incase overall its a really good app                     May need an update AP Soldier

I ve been using cortex cam since the original version This latest update astounds me The raw input from the camera makes for FAR SUPERIOR photographs than all prior versions combined Along with the advanced features to change ISO and shutter speed you can take photos of dimly lit surroundings and there is practically NO GRAIN Note this magic is accomplished via long exposure photography So your subject matter needs to be stationary for several seconds wile the image is captured Hands down the best camera app available No gimmicks and silly filters Just brilliant photographs                     Brilliant GregM.

Updated for v2 1 On the iPhone 7 Plus this app still reigns supreme in terms of image quality for still subjects All the cool new stuff like RAW capture and dual lens are supported One suggestion to get the most out of it Use a tripod or other object to steady the phone when using this app result will be dramatically better old review still true Have been using this app since iPhone 4 image quality is ridiculously better than any other app But then I have only bought 20 30 camera apps there might be something better out there Works best most significant difference in medium low lighting and works great on iPhone 6 plus after the last iOS 8 compatible update Addendum needs some work on iPhone 6 plus some square areas show high color nice and low resolution Hoping for a fix soon                     Impressive improvements in medium low light Jofte

I love the new inclusion of automatic modes Couple of suggestions can we blend the image before noise reduction is applied to the base images This is possible in theory due to the raw capability for iphone 6s and 7 if you add single frame raw capture in app then it will be the only photo app that people ever needs possibly save all cortex images to a separate album                 Love the new Options couple suggestions Eigebmeat

The pictures that Cortex Camera takes are startlingly good with exceptional clarity and very low noise Dim lighting is no obstacle and in good light the results can with some justification be called jaw dropping Several times now I ve thought to myself did I really take this picture with my phone And with the latest update s inclusion of manual exposure controls Cortex Camera has become my flat out favorite app for picture taking                     Excellence Simbuk

After reading a few of the comments I had to stop what I was doing and write a review for the sake of those who do not understand digital cameras and photography in general I am a professional photographer who has been shooting since 1975 and currently uses high end digital DSLR gear And my iPhone 65 Plus You know that saying the best camera is the one you have with you Well my iPhone ends up being that one a high percentage of the time 1 Cortex Camera IS a great app if you are going to use the iPhone to shoot the image It DOES outperform the native camera app and even some of the other better and more sophisticated camera app replacements due to its ability to manage the digital noise issue In low light Cortex Camera is my current go to app and the statements made about it on the App Store are generally accurate except for it being a DSLR replacement 2 There is NO WAY this app is going to outperform a high end DSLR and anyone who says it will is either inexperienced and doesn t know better or is misleading you A high end full frame sensor DSLR has a sensor chip that measures approx 36mm x 24mm It s light gathering power and dynamic range is huge and will leave 100 of all smartphone cameras in the dust regardless of the brand Because of the dynamic range issue high end DSLR s can literally see in the dark and I have yet to see any smartphone of any brand that can do that with current technology Get the mm specs on the sensor in your smartphone and see what size it is You will quickly see the difference Case in point my iPhone 6 Plus sensor is 7 62mm x 7 62mm You cannot take a chip that small and expect it to match the DSLR s capability If any smartphone today could match the image quality of a professional DSLR then pros would save the money and the weight and use smartphones instead of spending 10K 15K for camera systems So let s put to rest the statements of as good as a DSLR Folks it ain t gonna happen OK 3 But if you are content to use your smartphone to shoot an image in low light then this is your app It appears to be as good as it gets with the current apps out there                     Great app for iPhone but is NOT a DSLR replacement cp77
