After the iOS 11 update ComicRack stopped working It is no longer able to function until the developer updates the app There hasn t been an update for apple in over a year I paid 8 for an app that doesn t function Also doesn t seem to be a way to contact them but there is always a way to give them more money will stay 1 star until they address this major issue In the meantime I ll have to find another reader The kicker is that I bought this iPad SPECIFICALLY to read comics What now     Useless after update awf1031

Note to all once you update to iOS 11 this app will no longer launch So yes this app we all paid for and hasn t been updated in years will stop working the moment you upgrade to iOS 11 Given that the developer clearly doesn t care at all about paying customers and has completely abandoned the app I would not allow use of ComicRack obsolete app to dissuade you from migrating iOS 11 Sad that they still post upgrades of free desktop software but couldn t be bothered to deliver a reliable product for paying customers     Once great now worthless Iggy V.

I have a Mac and the only reason I keep a VM for Windows is ComicRack I heave been using CR to organize my comics for a few years and couldn t wait for the iPad app There are other comic readers but CR allows you to organize a lot of things in Windows which then translate to the app when synced Reading lists smart lists selected comics etc The great part is CR has a plugin that lets you get metadata for you comics with a plugin for Comic Vine I guess the only problem with CR is that there is no Mac version but that isn t a huge issue if you have a Windows machine run Bootcamp or like me run Windows on a virtual machine on Mac                     Best Comic Reader Coleman W.

The ipad has really gotten me jazzed about reading comics again I used to collect when I was in high school and now I read those same ones and more Comicrack has been great and though I ve only tried a hand full of other apps for the same purpose I think my search is over After playing with the pc application I was sold on Comicrack and now I have the full suite The good The feature that is best for me is the story tracking and syncing Allowing me to simply designate keeping any number of issues from a comic list on my ipad at one time and updated with unread issues as I complete old ones I keep 10 issues of each list and it syncs It just keeps me reading without worry This is great The organization features of the main program are great and feed my OCD Coupled with the comic vine plug in easy to install I don t have to input all the details of my comics It s super time saving Sometimes I have to manually search for the comic but that is effectively as easy as typing a title into a search box Then it finds it stamps the meta data to the comic and boom done Small price to pay for the convenience Maybe some improvements The sync works most the time however on occasional it stalls if my computer and ipad lose connection Then clicking abort on the ipad stalls for a long time Is it really taking that long to delete files close the operations clean up the library you tell me Some bugs Last note Overall excellent program does everything that it needs to as well as a lot of added features to make comics the centerpiece so users can enjoy the worlds they create rather than farting around with the program             Makes Comics the Centerpiece good job redshirtjustin

ComicRack is a great reader on the iPad but the real magic for me is the integration with the desktop App I can organize manage my comics on my computer create a Smart List of the comics I want on my iPad and just touch a button to sync them It s fantastic                     Absolutely fantastic integration w desktop app kmobuckley

I switched over to this from Comic Zeal after their last update removed being able to see the name of your series for some reason and will never go back The only issues I have is with the desktop apps scraping metadata from Comic Vine being a little bit clunky and not being able to turn off animations for page turns within the app itself Other than that its nearly perfect though                 Great App Gpc138

ComicRack on Windows is by far and away the best comic library software out there in my opinion The iPad app continues this phenomenal user experience I have used several other comic readers and most recently used the fantastic ComicZeal However ComicRack has more features and a better user interface than the rest Pros Perfect integration with my library on my PC All meta tags transfer flawlessly Wifi sync works perfectly and is very fast A ton of sorting options Independent brightness controls Cons Essentially requires ComicRack on Windows for actual sorting naming etc                     The Absolute Best Tierinus

This app is amazing in it ability to sync wirelessly you can t wired The only fault i have with the app is it occasionally crashes on startup From what I ve been able to find there is no way to fix it you just have to remove re install and re sync This only seems to be a big issue though if you have half dozen GB of comics on the iPad                 Great For Syncing with Windows millsma

I have a few apps to read CBR files Bookman Pro is probably my favorite I purchased this because of its ability to sync with the desktop app The desktop app is extremely powerful though it could use some help with usability and the ability to easily sync us great and earns the app most of the 3 stars I ve given it However it is impossible to get through two comics in the app without it crashing I honestly feel lucky when I get through one If the stability is improved this will be a 5 star app             Unstable RomSK

This app is so close to being my app of choice for reading comics The only thing that s stopping me that reading comics that are made Right to Left is disorienting The controls and page turn animations should be flipped in order to match the reading directions Next Page should be on the left side of the screen instead of the right and the page should slide off to the right As it is now it feels completely backwards and unintuitive and completely unusable for me Until then I ll have to stick with Comic Zeal Also a Mac app would be nice         So close nightshadezero

I have about a years worth of digital comics and found ComicRack and used it to read on my pc upgraded to an Ipad and love to link feature between the two easy to keep things organized not reading same comic twice is ideal with dealing with a large library When you pinch and create a smaller viewing window then turn the page it jumps into that same zoomed in frame This keeps me viewing the small details i love while making it easy to zoom out for the larger box effect the art director went for                     CR works ybull15

This is a pretty good comic reader but for a few reasons is not the best choice for iPad 1 Zoom in quality is not as good as Comic Zeal You cannot zoom in as far and it isn t quite as sharp 2 App crashes about 1 in 3 times when I transfer a comic into it I use Filebrowser to copy files over from my NAS 3 Performance is not quite as good as Comic Zeal 4 Cost is 3 dollars higher All that said Comic Rack for windows was my undisputed go to comic reader I hope the developer considers and improves these concerns Overall this is the second best comic reader I have used on iPad The interface is good and intuitive It could still become 1 if the above issues are addressed                 Is this any good C J Richards

Prior to this release I used Bookman an excellent reader but it lacked a key feature of being able to sync with my comic rack app on my PC The new comic rack app syncs with PC allows filtering to support all syncing unread and syncs read status with my comic rack PC application As a reader itself it works extremely well Fast rendering with excellent quality It handles dual page layouts nicely with the right hand side tap moving to the unseen section by default than back to the bottom left unseen etc You can still turn orientation of iPad to landscape view of course It also support pinch zooming for reading text like handwritten script that old eye might need navigation for                     The best comic reader out there JustChrisM

The good part is that it works exceptionally well and integrates metadata well on OS X use ComicTagger Unfortunately this is one of the ugliest most poorly designed apps I ve ever had the displeasure of interacting Text is blurry in some views icons are cluttered and unclear overloaded with unnecessary gestures and just plain ugly design From the icon to the way the app looks to the way that it works it s in desperate need of a designers touch         Functional but in dire need of designer rolyreyes
