The electronic notebook that helps you take great notes, manage any project, and stay super organized Don`t sacrifice your current organizational system just because you want to manage your information on your iPad. Circus Ponies NoteBook ...
Interface is clunky unlike desktop version features I hoped to be in place missing Why does it require a complicated data transfersync method This is a name only app which smears the reputation of the original product I only hope future updates correct and rebuild what can only be described in one word useless     Useless
This APP has everything that you would need to keep notes for almost any job or school The interconnection with the Desktop APP is superior to most The only thing I did not have available is an easy way to use it as a written notebook Yes you can write in the Notebook APP but it isnt easy to use Overall I like this APP and think it is the best for what is out there              Lets Talk
I have nothing but good things to say about this app It has come a a log way since and Ive been there through most versions and it gets better and better The only thing I would ask to add is more templates                 Awesome concept
It makes my world retain its order                 Awesome Application
This finally got all my projects off of paper on the desk and in one place This app works just as a paper one and more but its not meant to be the reminder note post it note for the grocery store I use this app for work and collect a lot of info on my iPhone the iPad is bit big for one handed picture taking Sometimes I need to fetch some information from a notebook file for a impromptu meeting with only my iPhone on me This is the only time I get frustrated              A good digital notebook
The developers web page says Work with Your Notes on Your iPad Just Like on Your Desktop Ha Dont think for a second youre going to be able to use this like the Mac version This app doesnt importexport OPML If you want or need a good outlining app for the iPad this is NOT it The UI is absolutely horrible Export is limited to emailing either a selection or the entire notebook as text or exporting as PDF Thats it What a joke I REALLY wanted to like this app Had I bought this first Id have never bought the Mac version And without decent iPad functionality the desktop version is useless to me as well Frankly this app is so bad this is the first review Ive been compelled to write since the App store first opened I tried contacting the developer first to determine if this would fit the bill but got no response For 5 I figured it was worth the chance Id have felt better giving it to a charity instead of getting this app At least it wouldnt feel like a waste of money     Major Major Fail
Ive been happily using Circus Ponies for a couple of years now albeit the full Mac app not the iPad version I didnt realize there WAS a mobile version Having tried several other good wellrated notebooking apps for my iPad I recently tripped over CP for iPad Joy This is a very full rich notebooking app I havent found anything the desktop version does that the mobile doesnt All of the things youd expect annotation handwritten notes voice outlining pictures check lists linking or attaching other docs or pages customizable papers and covers etc as well as some things you might not like the ability to hide subtopics or reveal with just a quick tap AND DropBox syncing with my laptop Pretty well designed and powerful What else can I ask for                 My favorite Notebookong app
I love that this lets me think MY way and put pen to paper I can jump around I can pick up and put down in short I can write the way I think and end up with an organized polished piece of work Reminiscent of ThinkTank which is how I wrote my first book Really helpful to me                 More useful than 3x5 cards
The most elegant beautifully designed well thought out of all notes apps for iPad and Ive tried and use most of the best of them Ive used the Mac version of this app since it first came out and was frankly skeptical about whether anything comparable could be designed for iPad Circus Ponies have outdone even themselves The iPad version of NoteBook has all the depth of features and intuitive UI of the Mac version with the added ease of the iOS tap gesture interface all perfectly integrated Im having even more fun using the iPad version Its very cool Thanks CP for this great new incarnation of NoteBook                 Brilliant
Update 8114 Ive added a star The more I use this app the more uses I find for it Im using it as a homeschool planner and it is working well I still would like to see the UI updated to a modern format The beauty of this app really shines when paired with its Mac companion The Dropbox sync isnt perfect but it will do The fact that my action items and appointments can be synced to iCal and Reminders on my Mac iPad app doesnt do that almost makes up for the lack of an iPhone app Im looking forward to the BIG update the developer has eluded to The UI on this one is so outdated Bottom Line This is a good deal IF you also have the Mac app As a standalone it is lacking a lot of modern note taking features              Great companion app but UI needs updating
I believe the only reason CP released this new version now is because V3 was incompatible with the file format used by the new Mac NoteBook version The Mac version DOES contain major enhancements CP has said for a while that it intended to focus on the Mac version first and then to turn to enhancements for the iPad version So I think this first V4 iPad release is mostly useful for users like myself who wouldnt have otherwise been able to continue to sync their Notebooks between Mac and iPad              Reason for this update
This is not for the casual user I was hoping for something where I could place documents and notes and compile an orderly project that could be used without having to open numerous other apps didnt find it here You have to jump all over the place to actually see anything Maybe if you spent months learning this it would be okay I frankly just dont have the time to put into the learning curve this will take It is not the least bit intuitive to use     Extremely difficult to use
of apps this is a landmark for the iPad platform containing perhaps 80 of the features of the packed Mac app Synchronization through Dropbox has been absolutely bulletproof for me and they were smart enough to do what Apple didnt even the features not present in the iPad app are not stripped out when a document is synced from the Mac so you never lose anything I use the app only a moderate amount but that doesnt take away from just how much it can do and how well                 The Swiss Army Knife
Whether its a generational thing or not most people I know did the same thing I did in school which was to carry around spiral notebooks and take notesmanage classes in those This program is the closest thing to doing that which makes the learning curve pretty small Granted the program has a lot of features and learning to use those is something you have to learn but thats ALL you have to learn You just keep doing things the same say you did with the spiral notebook Excellent program A little pricey if you want to have everything connected through the iPad and MacBook Worth it though                 Most paperlike notebook system out there
This program has the same bugs the last one had Stickies move across pages rather than staying were you put them This is not an improvement on the old app They should have waited until the app was fully tested to release     Same program with the promise of changes
im korean But your app isnt supported korean I use your mac app its possible but this app isnt Please support korean I want just type it                 PLease support other languages
This is a top notch notebook Very reliable with a wide array of features I teach mathematics so I take full advantage of the different tools offered along with the ability to insert equations and other images I would definitely recommend this app One Note as nothing in this                 Review
I have tried multiple times to make the Dropbox sync work Contacted the developer followed their directions deleted reloaded the app closed re linked Dropbox All to no avail My desktop notebooks still dont appear Gave up a year ago Tried again now hoping that an update fixed this It has not I shouldnt have to waste time making an app that I paid for work     iPad version still wont sync
The notebook metaphor is a very good way of organizing documents and projects with a lot of pieces You will no longer confuse drafts find it difficult to find resources or get confused about the chronology or components of your work This particular notebook app is very useful because you can embed images and endless varieties of documents and because its outlining capabilities both within pages and with respect to the contents page describing the project as a whole are very easy to use I use it for nearly every kind of project I do Much better than folders with cryptic file names and it is very easy to evolve work in a notebook into a final draft of a document I like the fact work that I started on my laptop can be picked up on my iPad The synchronization is easy and reliable through Dropbox Very good and useful product And very importantly I have never had any crash                 Useful reliable app good cross platform usability
This is one of the few programs of this kind that actually work as promisedand do so continuously on a workaday basis day in and day out Its stable and Ive come to depend on it Theres nothing else out there like it The fact that it shares files seamlessly between iPad and MacBook is priceless                 Outstanding
Five stars for functionality minus one star for bugs minus two stars for developers approach to his long term customers And for this version one star less for problems with most onscreen keyboards on iOS 8 weeks after OS release For the total of one stars I used Mac version for years and iPad version since released This is application that costed 2999 and then new version of the Notebook for Mac changed the format of the saved file in a way that old Notebook for iPad cant read Then developer said ah well no choice but to make it paid upgrade Actually there was a choice support both formats and have new version of the Mac and iPad app be able to open both new and the old format Space of note taking apps is crowded and while today this might be the most powerful app for note taking big and powerful competitors are now on Mac While I like to see small guy win I expect him to win by providing me more value then big player What was just done forcing upgrade without giving you an option to save in old file formatsupport dual format is not what I call superior customer experience For that matter there are small guys making excellent note takers for both mac and iPad and I am seriously considering switching completely to them based on my experience with this iPad version If I didnt already had thousands of pages of notebooks done in Notebook for Mac I would already switched but developer should seriously consider the fact that even longterm customers with big investment in product are having second thoughts to the point that they would actively recommend against product     Too expensive for upgrade
Great app love that I can sync between my Macbook and my iPad Now can we PLEASE get an iPhone version to make things complete Especially with the new iPhone 6 Plus                 Need an iPhone version
Love the concept of this app use Notebook across all your platforms In real life still wont sync from my Mac to my iPad through Dropbox inspite of hours following tech support suggestions Wait for version 5 maybe they will finally get it right     Dont buy it
I purchased this app and loved it I used it all the time Then one day when I tried to open up a notebook the contents were missing It was synced with Dropbox I tried to contact support via the circusponies webpage and the webpage would not upload So we called and emailed no support whatsoever I have over 400 hours of material on that notebook and I cannot get a call Years of data is gone and no support It should be known that the problem was previous complained about on the blog page and no support was rendered then as well              Great app mediocre support
Im not using this app much any more I mostly use it to migrate my outlines to other software now        Barely used
I am quite familiar with the iPad and have had extensive time in using various apps that say one thing but do another Let me first say that this app is by fa the BEST NOTE TAKING APP for iPad in the App Store However to an everyday user who uses iPad for Facebook email and Angry Birds this will be too much for them to handle The amount of options layouts overlays and intuitive navigation is simply awesome Again this app is not for a everyday user It takes time reading practicing and trying before it can be useful There have only been the one bug where the app kicks me out when I choose director notebook As for pasting images manipulating stickies yes there was an initial confusion double tap to create a text box then choose to insert but with time and playing it worked itself out Overall this app is for the power iPad user that knows the iPads capabilities above and beyond what the general user knows Unlike most people one has to READ the user guide before getting the most out of the app Once you do the sky is the limit When someonen peaks over my shoulder and says what app is that I sigh and ask what kind of iPad user are you                 Power not for the avg Joe
For those of you that want to use this notebook like a paper notebook with a stylus it falls far short The handwriting function is embarrassing to say the least Go with something like Notes Plus Its way better Circus plus developers get the Notes Plus app and duplicate its handwriting function Then youll have a killer app The rest of this app is pretty decent     Yeah no
Ive used the Mac app for several years and purchased the iPad version the minute it was available Since upgrading to version 4 however Ive had nothing but problems Dropbox sync no longer works for me Not only do the notebooks not sync they completely disappear from the iPad Tech support has been unable to help me resolve the issue I purchased a new Mac and iPad not just for this app but I was optimistic that things would begin working again still no joy Im giving up Im not fond of Evernote but at least it syncs reliably and doesnt eat my data     Used to be my go to app now its useless
I bought this version of the app to test it out before buying the Mac version Im glad I didnt let this app deter me It is incredibly hard to navigate and if you press and hold to get the magnifying glass it freezes You have to quit the app to make it unfreeze and Ive lost the last couple things I typed in the process I want to like this app but it needs to be functional           Frustrating learning curve
One of the original classics ported from the NeXT computer Unique useful powerful adaptable program that synced between desktop and iPad through Dropbox One of the killer apps for a Mac But in recent years they have done very little in the way of upgrades and there are many complaints about no answers from support Maybe they have gotten tired and moved on and maybe they are out of business As a 10 year user I hope not as I have a ton of data invested in the program If you at new perhaps something that is more supported might suit              Great appsupport gone
It works like a 3ring binder but better That makes it easy to learn adapt to and use If I carried a real 3ring binder with everything I have in my CP notebooks around it would need a truck to haul it Love both versions iPad Mac and they sync wonderfully as long as I remember to sync first and last of every session Habit stuff and easy                 I cant function without it
I have been using NoteBook for many years and I love it and use it just about every day I take notes for my own projects and ideas and for my business Being able to keep my ideas notes drawings files photos web links contacts and just about everything in one location notebook about a project is great I can go to that notebook and pull up everything I need without going through many apps or folders to file it I have many notebooks for different projects Notebook is a must have for me                 Just keeps getting better
Impressive This is probably the most functional note taking app Ive seen for the iPad I was looking for something with a good global search and this is it It actually indexes everything you put into it The app looks a bit outdated when you open it because it has Helvetica everything and it looks like an actual piece of paper like I used in middleschool Fortunately its really customizable and I quickly got it looking pretty nice Style is personal preference and while I do like the iOS 7 look its irritating when every single app looks exactly the same Notebook is really unique and the developer says hes working on a big update                 Wow
I updated to this version only to find out my old data on the iPad isnt available in it Irritating Its more than time to have this as a universal app     Doesnt Bring In v3 NoteBooks No iPhone Support
I used this app for years and I have tried several other tools thinking one might be better but always come back to NoteBook Multimedia is seamless and I sync easily with Dropbox                 My favorite note taking tool
The integration between the MacBook Pro and the iPad versions could be better but otherwise I have no complaints The multidex is amazing                 Best notetaking tool
I have Auditorium Notability Pear Note etc and I wish someone could take them all and make one really great one Here are my s 1 Notebook metaphor is the best 2 To do integration is great in theory is a royal pain to actually use 3 All the little speaker icons are grossly annoying Wish they were hidden like other apps I know I recorded just let me tap and play 4 Syncing dangerous and you must be very careful You must wait for sync or lose on down or uploading Other apps seem to manage this without data loss Overall good but not my go to right now           Compared to others
Ive used to heavily use the Mac application and with the iPad support I thought I might revisit it so I took a chance on purchasing it Unfortunately this app acts nobody bothered to test it with a physical keyboard delete doesnt delete objects delete doesnt delete tabs in outlines shift tab doesnt undo a tab basic fast outlining things dont workfor instance pressing return while on an empty bullet should undent but it just creates a new empty bullet When youre taking notes these kinds of little optimizations make a big difference I also found it difficult to navigate the outline click double click it wasnt clear Im sure Id get past those eventually by going through the tutorials but in shortlots of functionality but needs work on the basics of just taking notes using a keyboard        Not a good app for a keyboard user
I have been using this app now for two years and I absolutely love it I have it for both my Mac and iPad and its one of my favorite school apps Its easy to use and everything syncs so nicely The customer support is also awesome Theres only been a couple of times that Ive had some sort of issue and the company always emailed me back within 24 hours I would highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a good note taking app for the Mac and the iPad                 AWESOME
I have used Notebook for years and just discovered the iPad version There is a slight learning curve but the manual is excellent I should be using CP Notebook for even more years                 Great to have it all on my Mac and iPad
mac Notebook 4 users beware if youve purchased the upgrade to version 4 on the Mac and need to sync to Dropbox youre out of luck neither Notebook nor Notebook 4 which they are now selling as separate apps apps will sync to Mac version 4 files on Dropbox the original app dies midsync and the Dropbox 4 app keeps saying its trying to sync but never succeeds shame on you Circus Ponies the least you could have done was to tell users about the incompatibility     beware if youve upgraded desktop version
Do not get carried away by five star reviews which are from total only 69 people There is a good possibility that the developers family and friends wrote those This app is too complicated and not at all user friendly Mimicking real notebook is a gimmick There are better and cheaper options out there     Waste of money too complicated
The Mac version of this app is indispensable to me While its great to have an iPad version there are several features here that baffle me Or rather its the lack of these features that baffles me For example I use NoteBook on my Mac as a place to collect and sort URLs that may be useful in my work Bizarrely while URLs display in the iPad version of the app you cant actually open any of the webpages from those links Thats just weird Being able to tap on a link and open a browser window to that webpage is one of the most basic functions of an app Pretty much every app can do this Why not NoteBook I guess some students who use it to take notes in class might not need to link from their notebooks to the web but I cant imagine that anybody else using this app would not need that feature           Almost there
Ever since the apple update notebook does not work well at all I really hope you guys do something about this I have much info in it that is unless now     Notebook
After download on my iPad app worked only once in the 2 years I purchased it No upgrades release to fix bugs Save your money     Dont waste your money on Notebook version
