Celtx Script

I do love this app Would like the ability to add title page cast list and would like a little more updated look but this app serves its purpose very well The thing is when you have something that works this well you cant help but think of ways to make it even better I have loved Celtx since I first downloaded it Love the sync feature between devices Since iOS7 I have been experiencing frequent crashes on iPad mini Frustrating because I lose work with the crash Please help now with iOS 8 stability I know you recently did a bug fix but Im still getting crashes and even scrolling is jerky              Celtx problem in iOS7

the play script side of it is good but flawed they are not following standard play formatting even when switched to american standard in the desktop version the ipad app doesnt have this option the stage directions are formatted incorrectly they are lined up with the names in the center column instead of 3 tabs from left margin save your money till they get it fixed if they ever do i saw that people brought this up in 2013 and the developers gave them a catty answer on tumblr           needs fixes

I started using this app about two years ago because I couldnt afford Final Draft I love it with just a couple caveats I use the iPad version probably 3x more often than the desktop version mainly because I always have my iPad with me so I can knock out some pages whenever the muse strikes me However like several other reviewers I sometimes have difficulty with the sync function Im working from the Celtx cloud and often I find that my latest work from my iPad has not been updated when I open a script in the desktop application Other than that the title page issue should really be fixed by now All that said I love it and use it daily              Almost really great

I dont need no stinking cloud              Please let me importexport Celtx files through ema

There is no novel option on this app Im not sure why but its stupid     Dont waste your money

This app doesnt sync with my celtx free account so I can not access my scripts unless Im online and I go to the website Defeats the purpose of being able to access and edit offline It does not support sketch at all Thanks for letting me know that after 10 emails with your tech expert who just asked me questions and had no answers or technical expertise Apple would not give me a refund because I was past their slotted time from date of sale Dont pay for what you get for free     Does not work

I cant write the scene number or any text for that matter without the app crashing Please fix this problem I cant write under these conditions     This is ridiculous

CELTX YOU HAVE SCREWED ME OVER A TOTAL OF 15 PAGES OF WORK IN THE PAST 12 HOURS THAT IS 13 OF A SCRIPT I NEED DONE IN 10 DAYS FROM BEING ON PACE FOR HAVING THE SCRIPT DONE TOMORROW I NOW HAVE TO START OVER FOR A THIRD TIME ON THE SAME STORY YOUR APP IS A PIECE OF JUNK YOUR CLOUD IS WORTHLESS AND I HAVE LOST ALL RESPECT FOR YOUR PRODUCT 15 PAGES CELTX 13 OF MY SCRIPT I HATE YOU     COMPLETE WASTE OF EFFORT

Always a great app but continuously having to sign in every time I sync is getting annoying So if the next update recent please can allow save the login information so I dont have to sign back in every single time I sync that would be great           Annoying Login Problem

I like this app a lot Except You cant make a title page or character breakdown page You cant use normal functions like centering text Keyboard functions like apple I for italics dont work on iPad with a keyboard Sometimes you want to single space and it makes you double space inexplicably Otherwise this is an intuitive and easy to use script writing application              great with room for improvement

Very difficult to get these scripts you slave over out of the app No iCloud integration You have to pay for CeltX own Cloud service if you want to go across platforms Or you can send PDF and formated Text to yourself The files eventually arrive but its a real nail biter while you wait Ive been waiting 10 minutes now for these to go through Not something you want to deal with while youre writing over deadline Other minor glitches are present but these are the doozies I dont like screwing around Have not seen many updates since purchasing this last year Please pull those big boy pants up CeltX and make something that we can actually put to work           Sorta Works

This app really comes in handy when I am writing a script on the go on my iPhone for my college scriptwriting class My only criticism is that the app has the tendency to glitch and take me back to the iPhone main menu screen Its happened on numerous occasions Even after the new iOS 83 update it still does this I thought before there was glitches because of the previous iOS update before iOS 83 but I am guessing now its only the app           Good app but it tends to bug out

It just works There used to be a few bugs that have been weeded out with updates I havent had any issues for a while There arent a lot of bells and whistles but I like that Theres more than meets the eye and some great tools for tracking character but the formatting works so well and so fast that I cant see any reason to pay for a program that does If you can spare five bucks Ive used it a lot on my iPhone for small edits and iPad with a bluetooth keyboard too and the mobile functionality is excellent I basically write anywhere or time I want Word of warning when using the cloud across multiple platforms be sure to save and close a project every time you put it down You can loose entire drafts switching platforms carelessly I dont really think its celtx fault just a fact of life with the cloud age                 Hard to argue with

Just purchased this and it looks really great at first glance All the pieces are there to make your writing life easier Then it crashes I open type three letters and it crashes again And again And again Try some qc first and remove the bugs before releasing on an unsuspecting public     Waste of 2 dollars

I purchased this app because a friend emailed me a celtx screenplay file When I tried to open the attachment in my email account I had a choice to import it to google drive Documents 2 Dropbox Box even Evernote No option to open with celtx In the celtx app no clear means of importing from anywhere There is a cloud icon but when I tap it nothing happens I dont feel like wading through online support to see if it is even possible to import but thats a HUGE disadvantage for an app that is so supposedly intuitive        First task failed

This app worked until recently now whenever I try to sign in it just lags and does nothing FIX IT     Wont sign in

This app makes writing from anywhere a breeze I havent had any issues with it so far Just remember to hit the sync button after you write on your iPad so you wont have any issues with losing work when switching to a laptop or desktop                 Convenient

This app is terrible If you are a working writer andor need to upload files to Dropbox or other site you cant do it Theres no way of opening the celtx files from attachments nor saving them to Dropbox or other site Hard to collaborate or share files Not useful for working in the modern era I would rather pay for Final Draft FD allows you to read the fdx files with their reader which is free     I want my 499 back

This is obviously made for quick edits to a script and not actually writing one from start to finish Gets the job done plus more                 Great app

Im a big user of Celtx and love the program but the app has tons of glitches Mainly it keeps crashing This is incredibly frustrating and I actually cannot further my script until the app stops crashing Please fix        Love the product hate the app

Celtx is close to being a great screenwriting app for the iPad but unfortunately some of its flaws can be quite frustrating and have me on the verge of switching to something else Its quite unacceptable that you cant do title pages on the iPad version of Celtx and that youd need to use the desktop version just for that A screenplay needs a title page what kind of screenwriting app wouldnt support this The PDF generation could also be much better since theres no preview at the moment and the generated PDFs line breaks differ to what we see on the screen which means that one needs to export and open the PDF somewhere else then come back if it needs fixing then repeat until you get it right which might be a whole lot of times if youre working on a feature screenplay It would be also good to have support for other file types such as Fountain Im not too keen on having all my work stuck in a proprietary file format           Promising but can be quite frustrating

Theres no spell check and you cant put your name on the scripts these are huge problems for me so Im getting a new app But its pretty good for a beginner screenwriter Id say But even though youd say I was still a beginner Id like to go on on a app I can actually put my name on           I want my money bacK

I like it but Im having the biggest problem opening scrips that I emailed to myself Open with just doesnt work for my iPad or iPhone on it If anyone knows how to make that work Im all ears              Its cool

I usually love this app but it wont stay signed in so I have to enter my password every single time I want to upload           What is going on

Really want to like it but the more I use it the more I want to go back to final draft No title page ability in the app is beyond stupid and linking to the desktop version is pointless since it formats the pages completely differently my script went from 121 to 109 between iPad and desktop for no reason Put a title page option in the app already and make it easier to spellcheck while youre at it        Frustrating

Of course this is great when it works However it is still very dangerous to use Its toooo easy to lose your work and there are glitches Such as when I try speech to text I will see my words typed perfectly and then as soon as I stop the microphone button for some reason it will delete half of my words Every time And then you have to manually sync it every single time If you forget to sync it once and open it on a new device and start writing you will be in conflict and you will lose your work And so on These are very serious matters to think about I have no idea why it does not automatically sync There is no reason to have to manually sync it every single time after a save Because you will forget or just not even know to manually do it And then all of a sudden all your writing goes down the drain and is in conflict when you open on your desktop or a different device The point of having this app be portable is for you to easily open it on several devices Manual synching makes this terrible Also it is weird that you can make new commentsnotes but you cannot delete them or edit them That also makes no sense So close yet so far These seem like such easy things to fix but I do not know why they havent fixed them yet        Easy to lose work glitches

Dear Celtx My golden rule for screenwriting is Rewrite rewrite and rewrite some more as a consequence I use this app quite a bit Its the only app Ive paid for on my iPad and the only one Ive ever reviewed In fact its the only one I use really This app is not as good as the desktop version obviously but it works just fine for those sudden moments of inspiration I cant title my work but I can take the time to do that once I have them on my desktop With that said I do have one problem Is adding a spell check function too much to ask A simple one would work just fine one that points out obvious misspelled words Not having spell check function is what makes me rate this otherwise fivestar app a fourstar Thanks JD              Great app but SPELL CHECK

I am an aspiring screenwriterfilmmaker and this is the only screenwriting software I ever use I love writing with Celtx because Celtx makes it so easy Recently Celtx updated their website a bit and I was hoping for similar changes done to the app but nothing changed This app needs an update within the next few months              Great App needs an update

First of all let me say this is my first review this app definitely deserves a review The app works well and doesnt have any glitches I know off Its perfect for on to go writing The only thing I would recommend is folders my workspace looks a little messy but other than that this is amazing                 I LOVE IT

Im really impressed with this I work as an art director at a game company and travel to Seattle by bus everyday for about two hours I use this as my writing time twenty pages in to my script so far Its super easy to use and flows really well Lots of intuitive decisions are made by the program Id say they were 88 correct Im no hardcore writer and this is my first script writing program but Im really impressed Easy to synch up withe the PC as well I love it                 Chili sauce

Its great I love that it saves my revisions online and syncs across my devices Its a convenient and efficient app that helps in my mobile writing lifestyle I have no complaints                 Favorite Writing App

Ive switched to Final Draft Writer for writing on my iPad If you want to be serious FDW is well worth the price Ill never look back     Too much fussing around

I really like the app and I really like the software but the one problem with the app for the iPad and the iPhone is that there is no SAVE button and because theres no save button I lost about a page and a half of my script        Wheres the save button

Dont waste your money with this useless piece of garbage Nothing works on this useless app Bad bad bad     Worst app ever

Dont get me wrong the Celtx app is an absolutely invaluable writing tool and it always has been Its flawless syncing between devices is crucial This review strictly reflects upon the latest update and its associates bugs But it seems as though every time they do an update something awful happens and this one is one of the most annoying yet While the crashes seem to happen a lot less frequently the usability has taken a hard hit It makes it virtually impossible to scroll through a script as it will bounce back to wherever the curser was left In the past theyve been pretty good about fixing these things and I trust that this one will be fixed soon But maybe its time for them to leave well enough alone        Awful awful update

As a beginning screen writer Im finding this app worth the 199 I paid for it Im able to create and edit scripts in the app and then uploadsync them to my account so I can continue working on any computer anywhere in the world and vice versa Im able to work on screenplays from the comfort of my bedroom in the middle of the night and know my work will be there on my computer and online when I wake up Love it                 Extremely helpful

I would give this app a 4 or 5 stars but they have a major glitch As of right now this app is very mediocre I was writhing a script on my computer and decided that id like to open it on my ipad so i went and bought this app I was able to open my script that was saved on celtxs cloud However the next day I made major revisions and wrote a few more pages and it did not update the document on my ipad I saved the script as a different name still nothing Why cant I access the most current edit of my script Please fix this its very frustrating           This App news to be fixed

I got the app because I am used to using the desktop version It is extremely user friendly but there is no spell check     No Spell Check

Worked well Wonderful app but it needs MUCH better documentation Sync works fine but is very different than before Sync and read before you upgrade I use this on the iPad 75 of the time                 Great app

I love the cloud functionality and the cross platform syncing Destroys Final Draft Cant stand the fact that there is no single space Insane This is the most basic 1994 word processing skill that some how eludes them Their official response to my request was they cant do it because of formatting issues Nonsense        Great but no single space
