CarTunes is pathetic next to the customization offered by Music CarTunes is a perfect example of how constantly improving a great product with features no one was requesting can turn it into something forgettable into trash UPDATE I just updated to the latest version to verify absence of critical playback customization VERDICT No change The option to rewind to 30 seconds or 5 minutes though present is offered as a two finger wipe the same gestured used by the app as default for activating and deactivating shuffle mode hence the player keeps going into shuffle mode when one simply wants to rewind repeat a song the dev failed to implement the option to disable shuffle mode or alternately provide for editing gestures for shuffle mode so as to avert conflict Should the developer decide to once again update the app a correction is essential perhaps relegating shuffle mode activation to a defeatable onscreen button would prove the simpler solution Provided I do not find a media player with such an option I may ultimately be compelled to create one ce la vie UPDATE II More illogical mods to this app as time allows appears to be the norm Almost everything which made this app a favorite has disappeared Add to that the improvement of volume adjustment requiring two fingers and it is easy to conclude that the developer no longer has a clue about what good design comprises UPDATE III Rummaging through a mount Fuji of files backing up apps I found my old backup of CarTunes version 5 0 nonetheless The developer would be wise to revert to an earlier version or at least post an earlier version for those who do not like the cumbersome design and limitations of the present iteration Now if Apple would now allow an end user to exclude an app from the update list Someone should tell the company executives that it s alright to Think Different Steve Is Dead predecessor Music was much better Novacaine

This app is great for listening to your music collection while riding your bike or in your car It is designed to make changing tracks fast forward and rewinding and changing albums as safely as possible You will need to take the time to memorize the swipe patterns for this app which should not take more than one hour Please do not be a loser and give this a bad review because you were too lazy to learn this Great App
This app downloads iCloud music to the phone and as far as I can tell the songs downloaded cant be deleted off the phone Why that results in two stars from me and deleting the app from my phone I dont have my iTunes library on my phone to save space I thought this app would access iCloud music and play it which it does But I end up with songs that take up space now and cant be deleted manually in phone or using desktop iTunes Some of the songs were rediscovered thanks to the apps superior ability at shuffling Im reminded why I dont listen to some of those songs but they are permanently in my iPhone now Ive switched to Googles Play Music app Uploaded entire music library for free and streams when I want it Ill forget that I downloaded this app almost Ill be reminded whenever I see songs in the music app that I dont want on my phone Downloads cant be deleted

Car tunes still needs some fine tuning done After playing the first track if I jump to play another track it starts the first track all over again You also need a progress bar on the playlist and an indicator showing what track is being played Evaluating Cartunes

Edit 52015 Cant use this as my primary music player anymore If I open the app after it being off for any period of time it opens on a blank playlist and wont load playlists I have to open the stock app and start a playlist and then open cartunes just to use it I wish there was an update coming but I doubt it I use this with my phone mounted to my dashboard using an iSuck and its as close to perfect as Ive found Worth 25 Best car music app yet
I was close to giving up on the iPhone native music player Then took a chance and used cartunes No more random repeats issue no more lame stock artist images and really improved audio quality Not sure how its being done So Im stayin with the iPhone for now My previous player was an iRiver ihp40 I use Grado sr80 headphones and Beats earbuds Car tunes player saved me

I got this a long time ago when it was offered on sale or something never really used it because I could navigate the IOS Music app easy enough That is no longer the case As a long time PDA user 99present Ive always found that native apps were more reliable and often more usable Dropping that philosophy thanks to Music app it tries to do too much CarTunes does just enough If youre listening to music on the road theres no need for tiny fonts or multilevel settings to access its too distracting Cartoons can play podcasts also Great app Perfect for drivers hence the name

Paid for this app because I liked the UX proposal bad wanted to give it a try After downloading it I noticed that there is NO way to search for ANYTHING simply no search bar in the app Additionally I have no way of sorting my songs by genre which is how I usually listen to it I wrote to support about a week ago I had to go to the website for this because there isnt even an option for this on the app and they never even bothered to reply back Non existing support
The app is absolutely amazing but youre losing another star until this bug is fixed Not sure if its due to iOS update or app update but randomly and very frequently Ill go to play music from an album playlist or just a song and for whatever reason it plays the first song alphabetically on my phone No matter how many times I try to start a different song it keeps forcing that song Until I close the app a few times and essentially luck out Please resolve and Ill move up to 5s Thanks Big annoying bug
Simple interface makes browsing for music miles better than on the iOS 8 native music player with its exploded view forcing you to swipe past every song an every album that supports artist album and song directories It also displays album art at the largest possible size and at the very top of the screen No more overly fancy interface treating the album art as an afterthought to be cropped shoved in a corner or just shrunk for no reason a la Ecoute The layout features a tasteful mirror display of the album art across the lower screen and a progress bar that draws its predominant color from the album art All so much like iTunes that once youve seen it you cant understand why the standard music app doesnt have these subtle but very aesthetically pleasing touches Best Option Out There
