App crashes when you try to email a position        Crash

This was a great app Now all it does is crash     Crashes

Not a lot of features and the ones it does have you can get from free apps     Not worth the money

Please fix the ballistics calculator Since the latest update the data page no longer loads           Mostly good

Kinda complicated to use compared to handheld GPS but has a lot of potential Have to watch your battery Will re rate after I get more experience with it           Cool idea

RECON HUNT is an awesome smartphone application and the conventional URL for each Trip can be sent to my buddies without a smartphone To start a Trip I upload the GPX File of a hunting area boundary That way I can navigate to the hunting area and stay inside the boundary while hunting I use OziExplorer mapping software to make the GPX Files ahead of time using handout maps and 24K Quadrangles I also use Ozi to put the UTM Grid on the paper handout maps so that I can print a backup map and navigate the old way with a Grid The bells and whistles of this Application are fine tuned for hunters Its absolutely amazing The absolute best for hunting I use OxiExplorer to trace in property boundaries                 map from Jesses Forum

When I first bought it and for many years Ive had no issues with the app Now this year 2014 its always messing up Follow on the follow off Records my track then stops recording Extremely frustrated Fix the app please I use it for my business     Used to be a great app

With this app it is all you need for hiking hunting getting to those lost trails finding your way back On top of all the other features this app doesnt stop impressing me a professional hunter and survivalist                 All you need

I love this app I use it every time I scout hunt or hike Quick story I used this app to scout a new area Found a ridge off a swampy area Used the app to get me to the spot in one hour I arrows a 7point I have all my hunts from the past years stored here and I can see pictures notes and other info Get it                 This is a must have app if you hunt

Ive had to lower my rating of this app It appears the recent update to version 218 on 922014 has messed up the map function I cannot get the maps to load in a timely manner and when they do load I try to pan or zoom and it locks up and wont reload I contacted App support and have been working through them for a couple of weeks to no avail Ive deleted all my saved maps and cached data Ive logged out and back in and Ive even deleted the app and reloaded it Nothing has helped While this app has a lot of nice features its main purpose is a GPS and without maps it is just taking up valuable memory space on my phone Please resolve this issue Previous Review Good app to have I wish there were more public land boundary maps that are free Maybe if it could integrate with tax parcel maps all boundaries could be visible with that layer selected     Does as advertised Update 9172014

Being a better hunter than I am with electronics This app is an absolute must It is easy to use but it is loaded with great features Every time Im in the woods I have my Trimble app open and working for me                 Got to have this App

Dont believe negative reviews This app is a must have for hunters You can save map packs so when you have no cell service you can still use app It works off satellites Many different layer options And well worth getting elite membership Better than any hand help gps device                 Works perfect

I use this app for hunting in NM Last year I drew an Elk tag for unit 51 and I used it in several places I thought I would have problems with it because of the remoteness It performed very well I have used it in 5 or more units in other areas of NM plus areas in TX NY and OK This is the only app I would recommend and I have used more apps than I can remember I cant say enough good things about it                 Works well

The best app Ive used Its easy to understand and you will never get lost again Ive bought this when it was the original cabellas app Have never been disappointed Only thing needed is feeding times incorporated into the app Works great with no phone service              Excellent

I bought this app to use in finding CRP and public land for hunting It was one of the main features listed in the description I was surprised to learn that my 5 did not get me the features listed in the description which require a paid subscription I would not have purchased this app if I had known this and would like my money back It should have been explicitly listed in the description as only available with a fee     Best advertised features only available through paid subscription

This looks like it could be a great app I was very disappointed that I purchase this app and dont have access to use the features I have to pay a yearly fee or pay monthly to access the game unit maps        Disappointing App

The functionality looks very promising However this app is completely and utterly useless Do Not Get It 1 it doesnt force you to create an online account but unless you do not even the maps will load In fact nothing will work unless you have an account 2 Most features that I expected to work out of the box requires upgrade that are very costly 3 even after creating an account it is still close to worthless Even the very few features that work load extremely slow Whomever programmed this piece of software did a terrible job Hopefully next upgrade will improve usability For now I will stick to using Gaia GPS     Promising functionality Horrible App

Useful that it has ballistics information but otherwise the mapping interface is not that great compared to other apps on the market The resolution of the maps is really crappy also Its horrible trying to read things on the map because of the poor clarity even if you downloaded the maps all the way to the 15 zoom This is the last headache that I need when I am hiking in the woods        App Ok

Bought app as Cabelas Recon Hunt The last two hunts this year the app caused my iphone5 to shutdown and not restart for over thirty minutes        Trimble GPS Hunt Pro

Works good No problems and I have been using it for a little over a year now Wish it would let me manage waypoints without having to put them in an active trip Also wish I could overlay topo lines over the aerial This would come in handy when scouting instead of having to switch back and forth Lack of ease in way point mgt is why I knocked off a star Pretty handy app though              Worth the 499

I have used this app since it to was first released and have always enjoyed it I paid for the Elite membership and also the detailed maps sd card to easily load my entire state I recently tried to load all my trips on another iPhone and when I logged into my account it started deleting all my 54 trips instead of copying them to the new device Im now stuck trying to recreate some of my trips which is a total mess If u use this app backup your trips     It deleted all of my trips for last few years

This app is great The ability to save maps to the phone for use when you are near a cell phone tower allows this to function as well as any handheld GPS Easily worth the 5 I paid                 You may throw away your gps handheld

The best way to describe this software is disorganized Lots of functional packages in a nonfunctional manner I turned on tracking saved the tracks and cannot view these on a map now I also cannot delete the tracks I cannot find a way to reliably download offline maps for a future destination I cannot find a way to center the map view on my current location without turning on tracking Disappointed        Disorganized

I bought the app for the downloadable maps but then after purchase find out that if you want to download anything you have to pay a monthly fee Very misleading in description Very upset I purchased this app     Stupid

This app works great and has a lot of nice features The ability to download maps for use when you have little or no cell service comes in handy I used this app to track all of my hunts last year and it worked perfectly I would recommend this app for anyone wants to use their phone as a gps while hunting                 Excellent hunting GPS app

Bought the Pro version of the app when it was made by Cabelas and it was awesome One time purchase for all premium features Then Trimble bought it and now tries to charge for the same premium features that originally came with the Pro version Cabelas offered A horrible business model and a huge turn off to an otherwise previously great app Should not have to pay twice for same features     Bought premium version now have to pay for features

Not a bad app once you have maps loaded but that can take many hours just for single Colorado hunt area even with very fast wifi And that is if it loads at all Often will hang halfway through after well over an hour of effort then you have to start all over Until this bug is fixed there are other much better gps map apps A shame as I really like Cabelas catalog and stores     Useless

If your looking for a hunting app that tracks marks important locations offers Topos and gathers all your trip info you found it This app is interactive and you can share your trips with your buddies that use Trimble Hunt This is important for me because if I sew a food plot hang a stand or track a deer I can send all my info to my buddies so they can be up to date on the skinny The Hunt Pro is worth the extra money because it allows you to use symbols for plots blinds stands and more The only downside to the app is if you purchase the elite membership and you download offline maps you cant use those offline maps unless you keep your membership                 Hunt Pro

Review Update I didnt want to give up on this app so I used some patience and the app started to work correctly After the latest version update it took a while for the app to load ie map screen trip screens etc Once the initial lag was over things started working normally Original review I installed the latest update now the app wont work It freezes when I try to do anything Looks like Il be switching map apps              Review Update to Latest updatefrozen app
