You are smart You are strong And you have work to do And youre gonna do it with this app Why Because this app is great and if you use it good things will happen to you Trust me I own the Mac app I own this app If I had an iPad Id use this app there as well Byword is the best app for writing stuff if you dont need a crazy complicated thing with buttons and levers and sundials If you need that stuff use Pages If you need more stuff then what Pages had I mean use Word I guess                 Hey you reading this review

First may I say to the devs THANK YOU for making the app FAST I truly appreciate it Efficient just what a writer needs BTDT with Writing Kit Editorial Pages some others Byword has everything I need Ease of writing then I export html straight to Wordpress I decided today I may also use Byword to store my notes BTDT wEvernote Noteability and several others I use it on my laptop too                 Good intuitive clean fast stable The one to buy

Best interface I have found so far for editing previewing and sharing Markdown and MultiMarkdown documents Drop Box integration works great              My favorite in iOS

I love Byword The interface is clean and easy to use Parses markdown beautifully while you type Its so easy to read and feels so nice I love it I dont write a whole lot of articles but when I do write one it takes me a while So I like to take my work offline while I flesh out my thoughts Markdown and Byword allow me to do that wonderfully Then it syncs back to Dropbox where I can publish to Ghost blog Feature request the only thing I would change is that there should be a Markdown cheat sheet I sometimes forget some of the markdown syntax It would be nice to get a quick cheat sheet right in the app instead of opening a browser That way I could truly be offline                 An amazing simple and clean markdown app

Microsoft word what Oh how I dislike ms word I love the writing experience with byword I write an email each day to my list And its usually done using byword on my iPhone 6 plus Go figure If you would have asked me if Id be writing emails on my iPhone I would have laughed But I do I also use byword on my Macintosh                 Love this app I use it everyday

My Byword app lives on my 2nd generation iPad and does precisely what I require opens to a blank page in a snap for notetaking outside of the office saves and dates the notes even if I forget to name them and makes it easy to email the notes to myself when the interview is over Ive never learned Markdown though I still plan to and have had little trouble doing what I need to do Its always been stable Nice app                 no problems

I have tried other markdown apps but keep coming back to Byword for its simplicity and robustness One thing that I would note is that it is a little fiddly for getting image to link correctly vs images in my camera roll but with a little googling there are some fixes                 Goto app for markdown on my ipad

this is my goto app when writing on my ipad I have had some issues with exporting documents to email              great app

Typing in ByWord is fabulous and the automatic backup feature keeps all my projects in easy reach Ive only ever suffered one glitch and it was due to spotty wifi connectivity resulting in a document not backing up properly but the app spotted the error and helped me remedy it I write daily on this a thousand words a day and it is easily my favorite way to write                 Wonderful

Works acceptably for Dropbox but freezes crashes displays junk info duplicates of filesfolders etc and loses data with iCloud Drive Also is pretentious about its minimalism mistaking clutter with a reasonable set of features The latter does not imply the former but Byword simply substitutes a fashionably Spartan but highly limited interface for a richly featured and functional one that could still be as clean looking Overall a major disappointment     Nonfunctional with iCloud Drive

I really liked the simplicity and elegance of Byword However on sizable files 50k words the Dropbox integration would crash Byword on my IPad Air 2 This forced me to switch to another Markdown editor           Dropbox integration crashes often

It is surprised that this App always crash in my 55s with IOS 8 Crazy     Always crash in my iPhone 55s

Needs shining up A few little puddly little details here and there But relax We havent seen the whole app yet              Great app

Byword used to be great I even bought the addon Lately its infrequently updated and when it is updated like the latest update its more likely to not work as well as before In the latest update external keyboard navigation ie pressing things like COMMANDdownarrow to go down to end of document dont work They used to work flawlessly but not anymore Contacting the developer about this didnt help in any way There was no response whereas before the developer responded right away The last straw is that the current version is unstable I literally just lost 100 words I just wrote because Byword crashed In fact I was searching for markdown editor in the app store and Byword was the first selection and this prompted me to write a review It saddens me that things have gone downhill with Byword It reflects poorly on the developer and it definitely discourages me from purchasing any new apps Message to the developer If youre going to stop supporting an app then have the balls to be upfront about it rather than take the app and your users on a slow ride to uselessness     Used to be good crappy now

Reinstalled the app but it opens to a blank screen on launch No buttons no settings Cant even see any settings for Byword in settingsapp Same thing happens on my retina iPad mini and iPhone 6 Plus     App opens to a blank screen

Why would you get any other app A consistent experience when writing markdown on your Mac iPad or iPhone Of course I trybuy almost all apps for writing markdown as soon as they come out and they cant compare                 Why

While I am still learning how to use markdown and this app is great and all it doesnt upload images from my phone to my blogger account I ended up figuring out how to link to a remote image with my imgur account Other than that great job              Great but not perfect

This app is easy to use markdown which is why I downloaded it I wish that it would support OneDrive in the future I wish it would let me pick more fonts as I have a favorite typeface I spent money on It would also be neat to support git as a version control system                 Love it Needs OneDrive and more Fonts

I like this app a lot the only thing thats missing for me is password protection Im probably not the only one that wants a little privacy in their writing please think about this              Password protection please

I love the syncing between the iPad and Mac versions but it really needs an inapp web browser like 1writer has 1Writers web browser makes multitasting much easier Im a writer and need to go back and forth between writing and looking up info online I find myself using Byword on my Mac but needing to use 1writer on my iPad for this reason           Needs a real inapp browser

I use Byword on my Mac and love it but this is a disappointment The lack of RTF support means I cant view or edit many of my older documents from OSX I bought this thinking it would work seamlessly with my existing Byword docs but it doesnt even see them I dont want to change all my files over to Markdown Had I known this iOS version wasnt fully compatible within else version Id have saved myself some money        solid but not a good value

Anyone who wants their iPad to work as a functioning word processor would be advised to looking at Byword This solid little text editor and markdown maverick has been my go to program for a very long time My iPad has just about every word processor and text editor available but Byword is inevitably the one that I use when I need to get the job done with the least amount of distractions and effort Believe me you cant go wrong with this incredible little app                 Solid and dependable

This app has had major stability issues for well over a year now Leaving the app momentarily and coming back is practically guaranteeing that it will crash and cold startup times are inexcusably long Used to be a big supporter of this app but Im sick of the developers dragging their feet over its major issues There are better options out there     Lots of potential squandered by incompetent development

5 stars for being a decent ios text editor that supports the iPhone 6 Hard to believe that I have yet to find another text editor that actually makes use of all the resolution and screen real estate I have Next wish always restore me to the same file same scroll point when I relaunch the app                 iPhone 6 Plus support

But iCloud Drive sync takes literally hours with ios 81 Ridiculous Dropbox sync is lightning fast        Perhaps not its fault

Like many of you Ive tried several writing apps but keep coming back to Byword I love being able to start an article on the iPhone and finishing it up on either the iPad or the Mac Export options are also terrific I agree with a previous review about adding a search Still great app                 Great features and a clean UI

First of all No Google Drive support Secondly not many UI graphic tailoring settings Also the overall look and feel is not so solid This is a text editor Its not a difficult app to make amazing This is not amazing It feels like Im typing in Windows 98        Not so polished

GitHub Flavored Markdown support would be amazing Please add support for this I would pay for it as an IAP              Great but missing 1 thing

Ive always used Byword on my Mac and the experience is very similar The only downside is it has a habit of crashing after locking my iPad Mini 2 running iOS 81 The autosave keeps things going smoothly for the most part but minor edits might be dropped after a crash           Great but tends to crash

This is an essential app if you want to write on iOS I love the dark mode for writing in the evening or at night in low light situations iCloud and Dropbox storage rocks publish to Evernote is killer even if just as a backup mechanism I will say that I would like the typewriter mode that keeps the current line centered The Mac app has it                 Wonderful

My favorite feature in the desktop app is the exceedingly useful typewriter mode Why isnt this a feature on the iOS version I was strongly disappointed to realize it was missing the basic reason why I got the app in the first place           Typewriter mode

I got Byword simply for posting articles and HOWTO docs to blogger Its simple markup and publishing feature drew me in After learning the markdown syntax I found it extremely easy to create the level of documentation I needed that is formatted in a shareable way This alone makes this tool worth it It works the same in iOS and OS X too Both versions are excellent However there is more I use Evernote which has a terrible note formatting interface To make something beautiful requires to many clicks and it lacks the shortcuts you find in other tools like OneNote Since Byword is very format and beauty oriented I can take my notes using Byword and then I send it to Evernote as my note DB This is a very good workflow because these kinds of notes can be drafted using Byword and then published to Evernote when completed I also like the markdown format I have found plugins for Firefox that can readrender these kinds of files I suggest getting this as a multiuse note taking and blogging tool                 Byword Is an Outstanding Documentation and Blogging Tool

Ive been using Byword on Mac and iOS for several years now and it is consistently polished elegant and stable It is by far my favorite pure writing app for use with Markdown and its preview and export functionality are just as excellent as its writing experience The developers do not rush out their updates sometimes delivering them a good bit behind an OS update so that when they do arrive they are solidsee for example the integration of publishing features or the new iCloud Drive support Highly recommended                 Gorgeous usable and solid

I really used to love Byword the iOS app as well as the Mac app The recent versions however have been horribly unstable and unusable for syncing files I have had files vanish on me being duplicated showing up one one device but not the other overall it makes working with Byword a real pain which is very sad since I like the distractionfree interface So the 1star is not an Ihateit but more a unusable If it worked stable I would go back to using it in an instant but right now it frustrates me more than I have fun using it so I wont     Used to be a great app

Wonderful for taking notes in markdown Easy to use and just gets out of your way Syncs nicely with the Mac and iOS version                 Great text note taker

I ride the bus a lot so I often start blogs on my commute When I get to to the office I can easily open the desktop app and it is already synced where I left off There are very few options to distract from writing which is great                 Keeps me synced flawlessly

This is a beautiful app to be sure but there is one functionality that I am disappointed to see hasnt made it to the mobile version yet typewriter mode It is more ergonomic to watch a fixed point on the screen than to follow the cursor through the page As I tend to write in long stretches I end up watching the bottom of the screen the whole time rather than a more comfortable point higher on the page Other than that Byword is definitely a keeper           Typewriter Mode
