Ive only had the app for a week or so but its not saving my preference for no alerts After a few days of no alerts I will get one check my settings and the breaking news alert will be set to on Breaking news please fix this        Alerts dont stay off

I recently received an update to the iPad app and it seems to address a few things that would occasionally hang me up The app is similar to other news media apps that I have so using it doesnt require any special tricks Glad to be able to read the news without feeling bad about wasting paper each day                 Much better

The structure presentation of the news in this app is fine I do find the underlying local reporting often wanting in quality depth There seems to be no end to the FP undercutting the talent in its reporting staff trying to make up for the loss of talent exodus of experienced reporters by amping up the glitz in a vain effort to gain more click thrus Quality control in terms of proofreading published articles for grammatical errors misspellings incomplete sentences is also lacking News flash to FP and Gannett management no amount of online glitz will cover shortcomings in your reporting One telling example from today one of our US Senators is formally announcing his candidacy for US President clearly an important breaking news story of national scope Your coverage both in print online app didnt even mention the manner location timing of this important announcement Hello anybody home This kind of lapse in providing even basic news coverage is all too frequent in the BFP Its embarrassing that we dont have a better daily news media feed for the states largest city           App works fine its the underlying news gathering
