I had to return to upgrade my rating I now begin and end my day with this app and have come to really appreciate the alerts during the Olympics Academy Awards Ukranian uprising and weather events It provides headlines so no network bias and a link if you need more info Lately theyve included more photos which is great Very handy on ipad I cant say enough good about this app The only problem after the last update it has begun to have difficulty loading as in The request has timed out Twice In the past week Ive had to dump and reload this app to make it work Typical update                 Quick headlines

This is a terrible frustrating useless app There is no way to find the date on a story at least no way that I could find after LOTS of digging I dont know if a story is from today or from the history books And the writing is so trite and vague it could be either This ones going in the trash heap     Terrible app useless

Full disclosure I am addicted to this app and read it daily Only qualms a lot of feeds are from twitter and do not have a link to an article Please follow up with news articles if you are going to post a news headline Its like telling a friend that your cousin died and not following up with any details Also Wheres the videos Not all videos are posted at the time of the event or disaster so maybe add a videos tab                 Great but could be better

This app sends me breaking news alerts about the silliest things Todays silly alert was that someone won a tennis tournament Even worse I have the term tennis muted but the app still sends me alerts about that subject The developers really need to learn what breaking news means and to respect our preferences     Needs improvement

I would give it 5 stars if the items they posted werent riddled with spelling and grammatical errors Hard to believe the news when it makes no sense           News by drunks

This app is outstanding for live news and alerts around the world Tonight it went above and beyond expectations that were worth noting It provided live feed to the breaking news story Impeccable feed and the best part NO adds before the feed took place Essential to an app that prides itself on providing breaking news story                 Live video feed

The update on Aug 4th killed the Today widget in Notifications for me I would use it to see the headlines and local news Now it shows me out of date trending local news and Whoa I never looked at Whoa in the app why do I have to see it in the widget Im removing the widget from Notification Center and relying on push notifications from Breaking News and CNN If you want to play around with the Today Widget why not make it customizable And fix why blocked stories still show up in trending        Loved this app until

I have loved this app It is the best for keeping up with news across the board I feel it lost a star in this latest update by making the trending topics much vaguer than they used to be It was nice to go there and quickly see what was going on since it was all listed like headlines Now it is virtually all just categories The other thing that would make this app perfect to me would be the ability to sort the Whoa tab by posting time              Not liking this update

Breaking News is simply wonderful Its streamlined uncluttered user interface delivers accurate timely breaking news that I can skim in seconds Its the first thing I check when I wake up in the morning a minute or two later and Im all caught up Ive tried many different news apps and believe that this one is the best                 A news app

This is an amazing app if you want to get timely information of news events locally and around the world I have several news apps and this one is always the first to alert me of breaking news stories One of my favorite features that I turned on is the emerging news alert feature The app alerts you of new news stories that may become a major headline moments after it happens As an example I was traveling and got an alert of an earthquake back home within 10 minutes of it occurring My family was surprised to get a call from me checking up on them so quickly especially since I was 3000 miles away None of my other news apps alerted me to the event This app is by far my top choice when it comes to staying up to date on things happening in the world                 Timely news alerts

Breaking News is the first news app to send a push notification 9999 of the time I have ABC News BBC News CNN News Fox News and NYT Now all installed on my iPhone and none of them are as quick as Breaking News when it comes to push notifications If you were a huge fan of Circa like I was before they shutdown this is the next best news app on the App Store It would be awesome if they added more options and customizations in the app settings Thats the only improvement I can think of This is such a great app                 Quickest push notifications

Instead of news alerts there is a list of trending topics with no way to change any settings Put the old one back and this is a 5 star app        Widget has been ruined

I love this app The editors do a great job of reporting breaking news as it happens I regularly get news 15 min 1 hour faster than either the CNN or BBC app reports Its great Very highly recommended                 Love this app

This app catches me up to the minute world wide with links if I want more info I love that the tops I dont want to hear about can be muted except for the kardashians Those tramps are listed under celebrity so I cant forget they exist Wish they would have their own topic                 My favorite news app

I got this to mainly see stories that are in my area This app is great for that Just tap Near By to see tweets about stories near you then to get more detailed info tap the tweet and it opens a window with the more detailed story You can also see videos Im glad I got this app                 Great for local news

I check this app at least a couple times a day especially for local stories nearby                 Use daily

The entire point of using the previous Today widget was so I could see the latest stories at a glance without having to open the app itself Now that only the trending topics and Whoa story are displayed rather than more timely information the widget is completely pointless Not to mention Whoa stories are infrequently updated currently 19 hours old as Im writing this        Revised Widget made useless

The now and nearby category should be changed to world country and state world for world news country for news from the country you live in and state for local news                 Best news app

Wonderful idea but half the topics I search do not exist Of those I find news is horribly outdated and sometimes quite limited Twitter is far superior        Flawed execution

I used to love this app but it has changed from a news source to a source of toooften meaningless noise Blocking a story has become an exercise in frustration because the topic may or may not reflect the story A sport story should be titled to reflect the sport not the venue where it is held I might not want to follow the Indianapolis 500 but that should not cause me to block all stories from Indianapolis Too many stories have no follow ups and no source other than Twitter This makes me think that Id be just as informed following Twitter There should be consistency in topics among editors And the quality of the editors truly needs to be improved a car hitting a garage and doing no damage in Bumford Wherever is NOT news worthy of taking up bandwidth or battery life Alerts have become problematictoo Even a newsworthy alert can be followed very quickly by the same alert with one or two extremely nonessential words changed Again useless noise When an app becomes more a source of frustration than a source of information it is time to delete it     From News to Noise

Pretty good news app with excellent customer service I cant give it 5 stars yet because I moved from one major city to another and I get plenty of news alerts from my former city but almost none from my new city They have addressed the issue but it has not improved Outside of that it is a very good news app              Pretty Good

After last update app wont open     Broken update

It is with sadness that I report after the last update this app which I have had for a couple of years with no issues will no longer open so I have deleted it until a tech can fix the bugs     Will not open

I too thought that this recent update broke the Today widget It really didnt I just had to add it back as it was listed under new widgets at the bottom of the widget display I love this app as I really am learning of breaking news long before the major news services report it                 Update improved things

Its OK The app on the iPhone isnt bad except the Whoa page shows muted news However the watch app is useless as it shows muted news As I have more muted news than actual news this makes the watch app totally useless        Meh
