Came down with a double ear infection and couldn t hear out of either ear unless it was really loud Got this app now I just wear my headphones all day and can actually hear everything almost everything going on around me I d have spent the last 5 days completely deaf without this app PS not sure if someone submitted a bug ticket for this but text message alerts don t come through when using the app                 Life saver solillo

I have purchased this app and find it is not very helpful while running Traffic approaching is audible to the naked ear before the mic picks it up Additionally when the mic does pick up the sounds of approaching vehicles it is played in mono in the headphones so there is no directionality to the sound I am using the original iPhone 5s headphones         Not really very useful for running dj-walker

This app is missing the most important function compression The mic picks up sound around you and feeds it into your headphones while listing to music to keep you aware of your surroundings What if that sound is extremely loud You are now feeding that noise directly into your ear canal Compression would automatically lower the noise to a bearable volume This addition would warrant a 5 star review             Works good but TyG6

My husband introduced me to this app Turn it on and you can hear when people speak to you without having to take your headphones off I use it when I jog on my train commute into the city and on flights Not perfect a bit fiddly but very useful and does what it says                     A cool app that works well for me laurelleone

Latest version is good but no Mic Boost has been a problem for me After emailing the developers I m glad to say that the next version with have Boost back 4 stars until that new version 5 then if it works Previous review You know how people ask you why you didn t answer the phone or worse why you didn t answer when they ve been calling you and calling you it s because you were blissfully unaware that they were calling you because you were listening to music on your headphones Now with this app turned on you can actually hear them screaming at you and miraculously go on listening to the music at the same time It takes a bit of getting used to but you ll never say sorry I couldn t hear you again The upgrade has made this version smoother yet still wouldn t advocate using it in a very noisy environment which will only disturb your enjoyment of what you re listening to to no good purpose but it s great if you want to avoid being mown down by that car you never heard coming or that partner you never heard shouting at you                 Still good and Mic Boost coming back Steve Bellamy

Continuing sensible updates no problems with limited iPhone 5 graphics BUT here are a few glitches under iOS 6 Was missing Mic Boost but see developers have posted that this will soon be fixed it is fully unlocked with no ads Well worth the money Previous review I use this when jogging after a bit of fiddling and clipping my mic to my shirt it works well I get my music and I get to hear cars approaching Now I can use my best isolating headphones Great at home too as I hear my wife shouting at me                 Still a good app despite a few iOS 6 problems themanwiththemac

The app works ok for what it is supposed to do There are a fair amount of adjustments to tweak things so they work for your needs It should at least help in a few situations That said it has been updated for iPhone 5 You have to be kidding me They added a banner No added functionality or bigger controls A banner reminding you of the app you have open In addition to this it seems development has been slow in general For these reasons alone I cannot recommend this app             This update JakeJonez

You can only hear what the mic picks up if the volume is at 100 The problem with that is that your music is then at 100 and cancels the mic out The only use for this is as a hearing aid with no music playing     Not very good bt2184

I have been using this app about 6 months I find it an excellent help in situations where my normal hearing aids cannot pickup the conversation                     Has become essential kvdsy

I didn t realize how much I depended on this app until I installed iOS 6 and it stopped working I particularly like the ability to tweak the settings so I can use it walking down a busy street or while waiting in a much quieter doctor s office and be able to enjoy my music                 Please update soon FritzToch

I have been using this program for quite some time now and have been very happy with it However since the upgrade to iOS 6 I have been unable to use it as I m now getting a very peculiar buzzing noise through my headphones I ve tried quitting the program re installing it and the problem persists I feel that given some of the music playing app upgrades that took place with iOS 6 it might be necessary to see the Awareness app also go through an upgrade         Needs updating AZGizmo
