If it slithers, hops, sidewinds, leaps, or strikes, you will find it in Audubon Reptiles and Amphibians, your essential guide to the reptiles and amphibians of North America. Audubon Reptiles and Amphibians features in-depth species ...
Overall a worthwhile app Many good new photos In situ photos provide important habitat info But I would appreciate some of the subspecies be given more coverage And some corrections needed the photos of the smooth green snake are actually of the rough green snake for example And the range of the rough green snake needs updating The isolated population shown in Iowa for the rough green snake has been discredited Also the photo for the western fox snake is actually of the eastern fox snake In fact its the same photo for both species              Good but needs some work
New update has killed my use of this app Crashes before it can even tell me ti sign up for more crap i dont need like the rest of the audubon guides enough already we already PAID for this app dont keep asking me to sign up for junk I dont want or need Rollback this update fix my paid for app and stop with popups Do any of the developers read these Comments     Reptiles and crashes
I love ALL of the Audubon field guide apps They all work wonderfully and it sure beats lugging all the books I used to carry along I love playing the voice and often get a reply from the critters Im looking at How awesome is that Ive never had a problem logging in or crashing and I love the life lists Five star apps All of them                 Fantastic
I cant change the state from Vermont This is an awful app for 499     Cant change state
Horrible Terrible Awful Dont buy this app Cant stand these new updates Every time you start the app it asks you to join the nature share community Its like an advertisement that comes up EVERY TIME I paid good money for this app and shouldnt have to deal with ads I want my money back     Terrible
WRG                 Very good reference with good images
All the apps of which I have quite a few are okay but they are also seriously deficient Thousands of different spiders fore example and the app has around 20 listed There should also be a way to add suspected new sitings for those not listed With the ability to verify the sitings These apps have great potential but ALL OF THEM need work Hence only 3 stars           All Audubon Apps are okay but need updates
I like the info presented ability to add notes but the location feature is absolutely awful Always starts me in Vermont and dice I live in rural Pennsylvania I am not happy Also very very difficult to actually mark where you saw an animal I will be playing with it more but there is a bug in the location portion of this app and likely all the Audubon apps              Nice app but
Amazing app only reason for 4 star is that they are missing some species              Great app for reptile lovers
Nice A handy thing to have instead of carrying a lot of heavier books                 Handy
I like the App and would give 4 12 stars if I could but whel I try to log in for saving sightings the whole app crashes or locks up Please fix The Mammals of North America one works fine           Crashes when logging in
The kids love looking up lizards on the app that they find in the outdoors                 Great app
I gave in and set up an account but I will not let me set my location to anything other than Vermont This could be a great app but not as it is especially for 499        Meh
All Audubon apps encourage you to set up an account but logging in never works And dont try to reset or request your password If you do you get an email saying your password has been reset and no information as to what the newtemporary password is Just dont set up an account Otherwise the app is great for information I just save my sightings and notes to my Evernote or Facebook accounts           App is great but login never works
Love it Easy to use and better than the book My son and I enjoy it thoroughly                 Reptile guide
I love this app Its so cool to have a complete guide right here on my cell phone for quick access during activities like hiking The only thing is that when I go to post a sighting it is EXTREMELY difficult The app becomes unresponsive and if I do manage to start inputting info for the sighting its so difficult to finish it I have to resort to looking for the animal first and then choosing add sighting instead of going straight from the mainhome menu And sometimes that doesnt work I wanted to add more but I stopped at one because it was such an annoying process PLEASE fix this              Cant Post Sightings
After updating to iOS6 I am unable to listen to any sounds Please fix having the sound is the best feature of your app Without it I may as well dust off my old field books Thanks        Sound Please Fix
This is know the second app of theres I have and Im loving both Other then maybe needing to add a few more species Like the brown widow Hint hint Its a great time                 Awesome
We take the iPad down to the dock and play the voices and the locals talk back The bird app is great for calling owls The fly overhead and chat with us                 Love it
I dont want to create an account I just want to view the data It stinks to be nagged every time especially in a paid app     A little annoying
Ive noticed a few listings for species all grouped together under one common name I think this gets confusing when it comes to range and trying to find a certain species and subspecies For example the common kingsnake Id like to see the individual kings listed out as separate listings That way the range for the California king vs the eastern king can be better understood for example They are different animals and even have different scientific names so why group them all together              Something Id like to see
This app is the best resource I know of for field identification of species of reptiles or amphibians                 Reptiles and Amphibians
I love it but it should let you upload your own photo in the journal And it needs more species              Awesome
    Boffo              Boffo
Great to have with our scout troop Quality on a par with the other Audubon apps                 Excellent resource
Like the other reviewers I have wasted an hour unsuccessfully trying to correct the default location from Vermont on IOS 83 Unacceptable fix it and Ill change the review     Fix Location Function
This app is awesome Its as simple of that                 Awesome
As a Park Naturalist I find this app extremely helpful The frog calls are perfect great pictures range maps etc Technical enough for me simple enough for the general public to understand what it is the see and hear I use it all the time                 Very helpful
Hard to believe the creator of this much needed app would miss the common black snake black racer scarlet king snake etc Even their national website doesnt have them Not sure who did the research but Id wait for them to upgrade before buying        Nice pix but missing common snakes
Was fine until the last update Now the installation froze the app and can use it It is worse than not having it     Step Backward
I went right to look up my three favorite frogs Mountain YellowLegged Foothills YellowLegged and RedLegged None of them is there           need more frogs
Ive been trying to post my sightings with meeting every requirement but it keeps saying sorry post failed to upload im going to try this a couple times to see if it resolves it self and i know it cant be my internet if anyone or the makers can help me solve this problem then this app will grant me five stars           Works okay sounds good quality but
I would give this app five stars if it werent for the location function Even my kids toys can auto locate by gps and this app requires you to drag a pin from Vermont to wherever you estimate you might be Ridiculous This app is virtually useless for any serious naturalist     Terrible
Great app for us herps lovers needs some updates but its great                 Love this app
It lacks many subspecies that should be shown Cant get the sighting part to work on my iPhone 5s Cant add descriptions or other notes           Great app But
Love this app and would definitely recommend it love that it has all the frogs voices use it to identify frog calls all the time good job                 Great resource
The Jan 2014 update has rendered the app useless and it now crashes when trying to load     Update Trashed App
Location defaults to Vermont EVERY SINGLE TIME I add a sighting Also it is not just on this app but on all of my Audubon Field Guide apps even though the location services are enabled and working for everything else on my iPhone Please fix ASAP     Frustrating since update
Thanks for the update but please dont hide the status bar or at least make an option to not hide it I use that area for gestures        Please dont hide the status bar
Great app I have only found one problem the second picture of the rubber boa is actually a rosy boa other than that it is great I love the advanced search feature                 Great app
Neither common name scientific name nor advanced search and half an hour of aggravating work could help me get this app toidentify a yellow rat snakea very common species A google image search for yellow snake provided the answer in 5 seconds     Look elsewhere
    Ease of use              Cool
This app epitomizes my dissatisfaction with all three of the Audubon nature apps that I own I am sitting in my house in Sonoma County California and see an interesting lizard curled up on the patio There should be some way that the guide can show me the five or so most probable species for my location And this particular app has such small thumbnails that I cant see any of the pictures well enough to identify characteristics that would help me When I think I do see something familiar I pull it up only to discover that this species is only found in Mexico Update this app with GPS abilities        Back to basics please
THIS PROGRAM IS BROKEN for early iPADS It used to be one of my favorite apps but the latest update has destroyed the program They CLAIM that the app is still compatible with iOS 5 DONT BELIEVE IT I have tried reloading the app multiple times but it makes no difference Once the update has been installed the program will open momentarily and then shut down They DO NOT mention this in the update details IF YOU HAVE AN iPAD USING iOS 5 DO NOT INSTALL THIS PROGRAM you are only throwing your money away I only give this program one star because you cant give a zero stars rating     Audubon Reptiles and Amphibians
I just got this app and am very happy with it One thing that I think would make this guide and the other field guides more powerful would be a search by location tool Might also be good if the species were broken into larger categories like printed field guides So instead of flipping through a list to find vipers and pitvipers I can narrow my search by first selecting snakes Otherwise I really like the app and plan to get more field guides              One thing that would be great to see
This collection of natures creatures is the best I have found There are others especially for birds and this publisher beats them hands down                 Paul
This is Audobon at its finest Pictures are fantastic Using the guide is simple and easy Couldnt have made a better field guide for the iPhone                 Excellent
As with all the Audubon apps this app doesnt take advantage of your location even though it knows where you are If you try to do a search on the Northwest it includes California even though California has its own category This greatly and unnecessarily increases the possible species for what youre looking at You dont have a settings option to always use one region or to use my current position I bought this app because it was the only one available As a biologist I have a pretty good idea how to winnow down the list of possible species If your not a biologist or have a good background in natural history youre likely to find it difficult to figure out what youre looking at        Location is nearly useless
I am very happy with the recent updates I hope that we will see an iOS 7 native update soon as well              iOS 7
This app is easy to use and has an incredible design It is simple and provides a log                 Absolutely Amazing interface
