Audio Midi Connect - Convert Live Vocals and Instruments to MIDI

Hello My name is Bear Spears and to shorten the intro Im a live looping multiinstrumentalist who recently incorporated a TC Helicon Voicelive 1 vocal harmony processor into my stage setup If you arent familiar with this unit it is the spearhead of TC Helicons now famous harmony stomp boxes and boasts some of the warmest most beautiful harmony voicing Ive ever heard However it was released prior to TCs implementation of pitch detection technology which senses instrument chord changes and alters its vocal harmony voicing in real time Thus one had to painstakingly sit and preprogram their entire song list into the unit with every scale and key change and yada yada A daunting task for most of us short attention span types After releasing the unit to public they developed a separate box which uses pitch detection and transmits midi to the Voicelive unit so guitaristssolo artists could finally input their instrument signal and achieve good results on the fly Well unfortunately these pitch tracking boxes are VERY HARD TO FIND and after months of frustrating eBay searches I began to look for another way to effortlessly add guitar signal pitchtomidi into this rig I use an iPad docked into a Behringer is202 interface with midi to add synths and such to my show I tried the Midi Guitar app I was NOT impressed and it tracked pitch like a bloodhound with sinus issues My harmonies were all over the place After more research I came across the Midimorphosis app and saw the great bundle with Voxkit and Spectral Eye available and jumped on it Needless to say in minutes of configuring my setup and launching the app I was able to belt out luscious deep harmonies that track EVERYTIME and just as well as any of the more recent harmony stomp boxes which come with pitch tracking technology built in to the unit I am more than pleased and the results are much better than I had expected I just could not believe how well your app worked without really even fidgeting with settings and such Bravo Secret Base Now I am compelled to incorporate Voxkit into my show using a Meinl Cajon drum box micd with a stickon piezo inside to sample various drum kits and world instruments live Spectral Eye already has a place in my music and people really respond to the rising and diving synth sounds I throw out with it from time to time I even use it as a synth bass in some songs As Ive researched a thousand different music performanceinspired apps Ive found that only a handful are really valuable for live stage use What is commendable is the fact that already several of your designs have proven INVALUABLE and I find myself waiting for your next release Please keep me in mind if you ever want a guinea pig for future testing Hats off to your efforts and please keep them coming Your interesting approach to musical engineering is impressive and completely functional for musicians such as myself who need the technology to make our dreams a reality Feel free to post this letter wherever you like as I would hope it inspire more musicians to make the small investment in your products They work and sound superb which is more than I can say for most of the stuff out there in the App Store Thank you Secret Base You solved the final riddle to my rig I can NOW concentrate on the music Sincerely Bear Spears New Mexico USA           You Need This Now

I had been contemplating a Fishman Triple Play pickup and stumbled onto this app For the cost I figured I couldnt lose the Triple Play costs around 400 Im a solo artist guitar and vocals and would like to fold some pads into my performance for added dimension At worst this app would allow me to figure out settings and arrangements What Ive found seems to be a best caseI plan to use it in my live set Single notes dont track quite in unison with the guitar so just be aware You can work around it with swelling sounds or by dropping out the guitar and playing only the midi sound The developer has a gang of videos for reference Looking forward to digging into those and learning more              Amazing App

This is a terrific and from what I can see very accurate app for translating single pitches not chords from audio into midi data The only shortcomings I can see is the inability to send to other apps Im hoping that version 12 will include this ability so that we can take advantage of their admittedly superior conversion when we record the audio and then do the conversion Id love to be able to email that converted midi file to myself as well as be able to open it in any other iPad app which accepts midi files Excellent first step and I am very hopeful this product will continue to grow and improve its an app Im even willing to pay for if necessary                 Great app in need of a couple of enhancements

Useful for tuning very simple and check it out voice to MIDI in a click Worked fine for me on my iPad2                 Neat little MIDI app

I play guitar a lot better than I play keys so I had to try this I wont be getting rid of my keyboard any time soon but it is great to have this alternative way to play synths It works better than I expected                 Great for Guitarists

This and midi guitar are good for what they are intended for Get this and alchemy and be happy Works well with all my synth apps though Very neat with notation although I have both I use it mainly to play synths on guitar I use this and midi guitar Midi guitar seems a wee bit easier to set up Neat                 Nice

i orignally slammed the app after many crashes on launch and the limited instructions after install the app crashed everytimebi tried to open itYOU NEED TO REBOoT YOUR devi ce before it works the app worsks fantastic and the best thing is NO ADS                 NICE no ads

Absolutely a fantastic surprise finding this in the app store today It works quite well with virtual midi Sunriser and animoog are all Ive tried so far Audio midi connect is great but it has one flaw The record does not work in a usable way Currently if you record a sample the audio clears out after you make a second recording Also if and when the app crashes which it will crash when other midi apps such as steppolyarp or genome are running or is closed the recording is completely cleared out Perhaps if it were possible to save multiple recordings or to paste audio from other apps this would be ideal in my opinion Audio midi connect is ideal for guitar or piano but my awkward singing is it captures every squeak or voice crack Great start cant wait to see future updates                 Convert my horrible singing into horrible midi

This app does what it says it does For those of you who are unfamiliar with guitar synth gear the tracking and need to play cleanly so you dont trigger false notes is about where my Roland GR20 is Its honestly to be expected I really liked this app and will be using it quite often The only the recommendation I have for the developers is they need to make a way to adjust sensitivity and I had some issues with polyphony so being able to play chords would be useful but I rarely do anything outside of soloing when I play guitar synths Vocals I need to explore further                 Does just like I expected

I would write a good review for this app if you pay me back the cost of the app plus the cost of my precious time on earth that I wasted trying to use it My time is worth about 1075 per hour I would also accept a handwritten apology     Jacob Christ

By learning how to adjust the guitar pick ups signal in the right way I got an amazing quality and playability Sounds awesome I wish it could take a little bit less from the memory MIDI GUITAR Magelan Bias FX Audiobus goes INSANE              MIDI Guitar Rocks

Been trying various apps to facilitate guitar transcription Found this easy to use and accurate enough pluggedin or via mic Wireless worked fine A few things would greatly improve the app for this purpose ability to save midi files ability to emailexport midi files import an audio file a simple tab displayfile which could be printed andor exported              Good app

I love this super easy and fun to use Makes writing faster and more spontaneous Some of my recordingartist friends have been using it too its a great idea and Im interested in seeing how it continues to develop                 Love it

Its a great concept and works well It needs a bit more to be useful to me but I would happily pay for a bigger feature set better control over tuning speed continuous controllers channel settings and virtual midi Still it is a fun app and anyone interested in midi should try it           Works well good proof of concept

This app is so great I had just started using it with my new DAW and it works so great you just have to use file sharing for the midi notes You have to click covert before you close the app I totally recommend this app                 BEST EVER

Works quite well If you want both guitar and midi sounds simultaneously start audiobus choose your guitar fx app as input and midimorphosis as output then double click and start your synth in the background Well worth getting                 Very Good

This does not work for vocals No matter how carefully and slowly I sing and how I minimize vibrato this thing cannot cope with a human voice as input It is a joke to claim this works for vocals For guitar input played VERY slowly it can get most of the notes But so can the Animoog or ThumbJam screen keyboard With TJ there is awful noise that only goes away when you kill both apps Its better with Animoog but be prepared to use the panic button to kill sound at end There seems to be problems with sound threshold level detection or something Interface is minimal and bad No settings remembered Waste of 5 I would love something that really does what this prototype software claims to do but does not I am running this on a 64 GB iPad 3 so processing power should be adequate     Prealpha software Avoid

Aside from one other App which can be quite pricey and propprietary MidiMorphosis is the solution to those guitarists out there that would use MIDI but are so enthralled with the expression of a guitar that we just cant accept a keyboard And with all of the coremidi apps out there it would be a shame to forego having them speak to one another telling them what notes to play and how to play them Theres no limit to how many MIDI Apps you can play with a simple TUNED guitar if youre not in correct tuned pitch then you shouldnt be doing this anyway I have yet to use all of the features but its all self explanatory You can use it with the built in mic but I dont suggest it Youll need an interface for your guitar It simple transfers the pitch of the note you play to the corresponding note on a keyboard It also has the killer ability to record your playing and translate it into a midi file Crazy                 EGGSACTLY what I was looking for

Even though the description of the product on their site is rife with references to GarageBand the app does not work with it as I found out when I bought the app and contacted support about the problem     No GarageBand

I think this works very well Ya its not for shredding but for what it does it works and sounds great                 Crazy and Awesome
