I really like this app but I don t understand why the audio is no longer working for any of the definitions That is what has helped me with the pronunciation Hopefully there s an update soon to fix that issue I paid money for the audio version                 Audio *tiaf.

Frequently I surprisingly prefer this to American Heritage and Oxford which are mor expensive Very easy to use Unfortunately ICloud does not work on my edition I only wish bookmarks could have tags like Oxford and sync between iO devices as American Heritage I like the range of synonyms antonyms and the usage examples are good                     Love It One of My Favorite Apps Jim NY

I don t know why all the negative reviews Audio is working perfect on my iPhone 4s 64GB iOS5 1 Maybe some people have too much background app play ie news app Skype app or other apps that use memory in background play Most people don t know how to close background play in apps to speed up the phone One can find this info in Safari under iPhone user guide Search for background This app and the Miriam Webster paid version are the best apps                     Works great for me Big-Bad-Dawg

My daughter has dyslexia so I was looking for an audio dictionary to help her when she comes across a word she doesn t know I downloaded this to find out only the word is spoken not the definition or anything else That really doesn t help my daughter Sure she ll learn how to pronounce the words but if she has trouble reading the definition her vocabulary is not increased I know I can turn on the voice over function on the iPad but that makes the whole iPad function differently         Only the words are audio Tammy Von Allmen

I ve have this app for awhile along with the New Oxford American app which belonged to WorldWeb before and it was only 4 99 Now it s not in the AppStore anymore but the app is still working very well there are cross references on both of them I can do link search back and forth which I m been enjoying them The app has all of features phonetic audio pronunciation font adjustment up to 20PT clear definitions with synonyms antonyms example sentences and much more than I need Fast and fun search I hope the WordWeb will have Medical Dictionary app in the future                     I love it Pete vegas

This dictionary makes better use of the ipad iPhone capabilities than any other dictionary I have used note that there are several other dictionaries that use this same engine with different content This is the only one that passes the sole soul test it really does have a sounds like fuzzy search It also lets you use wild cards in the search and you can limit the search to just nouns for example It has good cross references to other similar or opposite words It works well on the iphone and the iPad It has useful options in the settings menu It has cross references to external sites The dictionary engine is the best but the content is not as good as many of the established major publishers of paper dictionaries It doesn t have word origins or usage notes                 Best use of the technology of any dictionary ejmc

5 stars from me I m a bit behind on pronoucing words so I thought I d grabbed this words are clear and very understandable                     I need something like this Tashawn

I was trying to buy a portable dictionary which could also speak the words I kept reading reviews on those units but almost every review said the pronunciaion overall on most words was just so so to not good My wife was not born in the USA so really I wanted something for her in particular to help her learn the proper pronunciation of many words Audio dictionary is EXCATLY what I was looking for real people speaking correctly not some Martain sounding computer voice mis pronouncing words as in those portable units I suppose there may be better or bigger dictionaries around but if you need help with pronunciation and want something that works easily without needing an Internet connection something that works VERY well I am very impressed with this app This is the first app I have ever reviewed here as I really feel it delivers what it promised and at about 4 99 it s a steal vs a 79 hand held portable with a robot voice Well done                     Just what I was looking for Dardle
