Irritating ads inapp purchases and no landscape mode A formerly great app is now a scamming ap     Update is beyond terrible

I like the idea of having favorites but not letting us access that link or share and having every other word be a hyperlink in the description is too much They made me start to hate my favorite app Too sad It used to be 5 stars        They fixed landscape but the share doesnt work in ios8

This app has gone from great to awful Wont rotate into landscape mode anymore I had to pay to get rid of ads Why do this it just drives people away Maybe that is what they want to help cut costs as NASA        Why the changes

The pictures just dont look good wo being able to view them in landscape mode     Landscape mode gone

I really liked this app but recent updates have included some big steps backwards For instance we used to be able to clear all photos from the cache and now the option seems to have gone missing It seems my only recourse is to delete the app and redownload it There needs to be a clear cache button to keep this app from eating hundreds of megabytes of storage on my phone           What happened to Clear Cache

Latest update to my iPhone was confusing when it came to finding how to download to iPhoto Saw by accident the three dots in upper right of picture                 Euro historian

Amazing pictures You can see them for free or you can pay 199 to get rid of the ads and support this wonderful app                 Fabulous

To get a picture to show up in landscape mode you have to swivel the iPad to portrait mode and then back to landscape mode and then the pictures shifts to landscape mode              Landscape mode doesnt work quite right in iOS 8

You can send men to the moon and land on comets 10 years away but you cant get this app to work in landscape Amazing This was one of my favorite apps and I checked it everyday But since my ipad is always in landscape mode this app is not only annoying it is useless     STILL NOT IN LANDSCAPE

Ive been using this app for about 5 years or so I just wanted to write a review to advocate for another update because there is a major problem for me right now It crashes on my iPhone 5 updated iOS whenever I open it I have been reading the other reviews about its new user interface ads and inability to view pictures in landscape mode but having been unable to access the whole app I guess I have no say yet Please fix the app soon Just for the record I would also like to have ads removed without having to pay and to have landscape viewing Otherwise the app is an excellent utility for viewing APOD           It needs a fix please

I dont mind the advertsand the tiny fee to remove them But landscape mode is pretty important for making good use of available pixels           Landscape

I have loved your app forever The photographs are gorgeous and unusual I start everyday with them I can live with the ads too your app is well worth it But please give the popup ads the ability to popdown again Right now they block the bottom of the photo                 Wonderful Beautiful App

Ive been a big fan of APOD for years The latest update that now requires a fee to remove adds and wont work in the landscape mode pretty much ruins the experience Very disappointing     Disappointing

I used to love coming to see the pictures and if there was one I liked then I could save it Ever since the last update you cant save the pictures anymore There is just a white box Please fix        Cant save pictures anymore

I came to look at beautiful space images and learn about the science behind themnot to be bombarded with ads when I tap on the info button Do we really want to see a banner ad about dandruff shampoo for men So much for the other worldly experience What made this troubling was that the app was a NASA service and had the NASA logo on itour publiclyfunded projects and government efforts should not be open for advertising dollars Now its now private but the ads remain and remain a nuisance Happy to donate to NASA or the app developers but lose the ads A NEW PROBLEM They seem to have changed the swiping actionyou now have to swipe to the left to go back which is backwards from how it used to work or how it works on the iPhone Very bad and counter to most apps and the general GUI for iOS apps Other issues Could use a thumbnails view spanning weeks Could use a single button save photos to the camera roll Could use a full screen mode so the image takes over the entire display OLD Now that the app uses the NASA logo for its icon it means it looks exactly the same as other NASA appswhich is visually confusing Still it has two key features that make it better than the other leading astro pic of the day app TwilitSky It can save the photos and doesnt have the fractured glass image that appears repeatedly in TwilitSky As a result its still the apod app I use most often Its also a universal app meaning it works well on the iPad too providing great views there        Many good features but the ads are distracting and undermine the experience

Please go back to the last version     Horrible

This is one of my favorite apps The photographs are amazing and the information about each image is well written It is technical but not over my head My only complaint is that the links to further information are in dark blue I have difficulty seeing them The non linked text is white and very easy to see read Please consider trying other colors for the linked text Thanks for a wonderful app              Love this app

Puts in more obtrusive ads seems to eliminate viewing pictures in landscape mode Not very pleased with this version     Version no bueno

This was a great app until this last update You have to put up with the portrait view and ads This is poor     APOD Went Backwards

I wont update sorry nasa your icon dev have to learn to much about design I like the old icon with the space in back and the nasa icon in center front     Horrendus Icon

Ive been a big fan of the APOD app for iOS for quite some time but this newest version is difficult for me to love The fact that theres no landscape mode when many pictures are in landscape orientation is disappointing and the ads are indeed more intrusive NASA is publicly funded they shouldnt be trying to scratch a living off of ad revenue I miss the simplicity of the previous version and wish I could revert           Frustrated with latest update

So I make it a personal policy never to write reviews but I have to violate it to say that the most recent APOD update not only makes our ability to look at pretty pictures looking to the stars easier but all much more aesthetically pleasing I am probably going to waste inordinate amounts of time going through these photos now                 Squeee A really really pretty app

Given that phones an tablets have longer screens than wide it is best to view pictures taken horizontally in landscape mode Why did the latest version of APOD remove this capability        Where did Landscape mode go

Way easier to find images you want to view great info screen and I can remove the ads for 2 which I did                 I loved this update

Great app lots of fun but the font is too small It would be great if they gave the option to enlarge the font           Font too small

I have the white box issue on my iPad 4th Gen and iPad Air 2 as mentioned in other reviews and its quite annoying However the white box is not actually empty folks the sharesave buttons are still there they are just also plain white Tap in the box and you will see Its just tough to guess where the correct button you are looking for is within the white square but they do work Still this issue needs to be fixed              Fix the white box

last update fixed things for my iPhone 6 but now my iPad Mini sharesave function no longer works just shows an empty white box in that area like the app please fix this issueseems others have it too but as I said iPhone 6 fine now issue is with iPad Mini 1st gen nonretina              iPad mini saveshare function no longer works

The app which used to be one of my favorites will no longer work in landscape mode which makes it difficult to use Scrolling seems backwards swiping from right to left beings up OLDER photos which is counter to nearly every other app on iOS The interface is confusing in other ways and the ads are annoying     Ugh very poor update

Up till last update a great app that I have had for about three years Now crashes No landscape pictures No scanning previous pictures I guess I will delete now     Disappointment

I really enjoyed the previous version of this app This latest update is not good at all Who in there right mind would think that not having landscape mode is acceptable for an app that used to have it and contains photos that are formatted in landscape Please fix this     Hate this update

The latest upgrade has made this formerly beautiful app useless Every day it now tells you to go to their website on Safari to see the picture Yes the ads are annoying but I would have paid to upgrade if it still worked the way it used to Now its ruined     Ruined
