Air Stylus

This software is terrible Even on a fast network its very slow It crashed my computer did weird things to my display and the palm rejection feature is implemented wrong and is totally worthless Avoid this software So the first major problem is lag On my fast wireless network Air Stylus would render my application screen with tons of jpeg compression artifacts as though I were using VNC over a very slow network connection Not good when using art programs Palm rejection is completely worthless While palm reject correctly waits for a stylus tap before allowing any interaction with the screen once the stylus is touching the display errant taps with your other fingers or palms will hijack the current cursor position resulting in your drawing stroke jumping to where the new touch was detected Uhm thats not how palm rejection is supposed to work and its completely useless In fact its tragically counterproductive Air Display Host stability is a huge problem Once I unchecked the option Use HiDPI and permitted Air Display Host to log out my user However even though all of my applications closed as part of the logout process I was left with a completely gray screen with nothing but the Air Display Host preferences panel visible After waiting five minutes for the computer to respond I had no choice but to perform a hard reset When going to my System Preferences and trying to enable Display Mirroring something very weird happened with Air Stylus where the screen would continually flash and cycle through various preference panes caught in an infinite loop of dialog flashing No thanks And once when quitting Air Display Host the virtual desktop that was created for Air Stylus got stuck on the left hand of my Mac Book Pro primary display I couldnt even move the cursor over to the trapped virtual desktop to close it Had to restart the computer        Terrible in almost every way

I wasnt seeing the lag that some other reviewers have mentioned But thenjust because I couldI walked with my iPad outside and into the yard where the WiFi signal is weak Then I started to see some lag Id guess that some people are having the old routerinthebasement network issue But from my perspective this is a stellar way to use your iPad like a Wacom                 Works great

I was really looking forward to this app but it says I need a newer version and App Store says I dont need to update it I dont know what to do       

Connects to air display After that it is useless Doesnt interact with any of the supported programs Complete waste     Only connects

I bought this app instead of dual display because of its alleged ease of use and how marvelous it worked seamlessly with adobe illustrator and all other software First of all its an extremely expensive application for any application let alone one that does not even deliver For a Mac I had to go to the website after purchasing the upgrade packers for same price as stand alone application The website address is incorrect the instructions and FAQ sections were updated a year ago and the tutorial videos are outdated by two years Please be careful and dont waste your money on the desktop application as they want another 19 for that I want my money back Dont waste yours     Waste of money

Its very slow vary laggy I test it with my iMac and iPad mini retina and it was very annoying that I payed 20 bucks for a very bad beta app I want my money back please     This app is an expensive jock

First off my wifi router is ten feet away and is very fast The lag is horrible I wish it would work but I also wish I could fly I have read the instructions from the companies web site I have tried the app on two computers and iPads but I get the same results Its like working with a dialup modem Apple really needs a way to let people try these pricier apps out before we buy     What a waste of money

The concept is great to use the iPad as a table to draw in graphic applications in a Mac The problem is that there is a huge delay between drawing in the iPad and what appears in the Mac Honestly I think that it is morally wrong to release an application in these conditions Apple should give us the money back     Really bad software

I have been using this for about six months mostly for Photoshop I just found out how to use this app with Illustrator too With the help of an iPad and a 50 Wacom pressuresensitive stylus I can draw on the iPad in Photoshop and Illustrator without paying 10002000 for a Cintiq The email tech support has been very helpful If you have a question shoot them a message and they will probably be able to solve your issues and get this app to work to your liking                 Inexpensive Alternative to Cintiq

I feel like a fish I took Avatrons bait before and I fell for it again I am using a 2011 iMac and an iPad Air original With the current Pixelmator I get poor screen refreshing performance on the iMac lag on the iPad and a Pixelmator canvas listed as supported is not usable on the iPad at all Id give 2 stars if that was the only issue but added to that the server daemon kills Airplay Display The Airplay Display failure is unacceptable This is a very old issue with Avatrons server daemon and the fact they still sell software that relies on this daemon for 20 is not excusable I do not recommend this product or Avatrons Air Display product and I strongly advise caution when installing Avatrons software on your Mac This really should not be in the App Store     Pixelmator Screen Refresh and Lag

I love the idea of this app however it considerably slows down your computer and is extremely cumbersome to use with Photoshop CC I really hope they can fix all the bugs and comparability issues I tried using with the Jot Touch 4 Stylus and the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus Both were able to use their pressure sensitivity however the app was so laggy I was unable to enjoy it A 20 app plus a decent stylus of 30 brings you to 50 If you can save an extra 30 the Wacom Intuos is only 80 If your are in need of a cheap work around I would strongly suggest a low end tablet Anything would be better than trying to use this app Youll save yourself many headaches     Great idea but doesnt work

This app does not work unless you have the fastest internet I tried it at home and the delay on mouse movements was about four seconds making the app unusable I tried it at my local cafe and it did not work at all I got a refund I wish there had been a disclaimer about the required network speed ps my internet at home is fast enough to stream video     another app that is not upfront about how it works

I use Air Stylus with Jot and find myself relying on it more each day Its responsive accurate and Improves my workflow as well as the final product Thank you for creating this                 Highly recommend

I didnt have particularly high expectations of this app and yet it completely failed to meet them If the host app doesnt crash it lags so badly thats its entirely unusable as an art tool Severely disappointed     Terrible

This expensive application needs a companion application on the Mac The combination is junk Total lag You cant possibly draw anything Worse it makes the i7 MacBook Air totally unresponsive You cant control anything with it Furthermore they have refused to refund my money     Absolute junk

The idea is great But not work at all When I try to run app and connect the up show error that is host PC different version Please fix it Or return my money     Absolutely not work

not to brag but i had this idea when the ipad first came out but there were no pens available now there are pens and avatron software has nailed it according to their blog there are some great new pens coming out including a really nice one from adobe                 great idea well executed

Air Stylus connects my IPad Air to my Mac no problem but the Wacom Intuos stylus does not work with Photoshop CC under any combination of brush settings Basically Adobe Photoshop does not see a pressure sensitive pen and consequently Air Stylus is a failure in its present version     Failure

Thanks to the dev for adding Jot with Pixelpoint support This new Jot pen with its nice sharp point is the closest thing to a Wacom Its exactly like the 199 Adobe Ink but at half the price and with app support Apparently Adobe hasnt opened up the Ink to other devs yet                 Cheap alternative to a Cintiq

I purchased the app for 1999 on Feb 16 My new Fineline stylus wasnt supported Tweeted about it Two weeks latter they tweet back that their new app supports it Have to pay another 1499 Figured maybe they updated this one Nope Discontinued 20 down the drain Wont be a customer again     Bought 2 Weeks ago Already Discontinued

Does not work for new iMacs total rip off they will steal your money and theres nothing you can do about it The program wont even start     Very Bad

Bought this App for 20 and it is a total disappointment Lag time is bad only works occasionally I wanted this to replace a bamboo tablet so I dont have to lug the tablet to meetings Do not buy this App     Poor Performance

Stylus I use Jet Touch 4 does not response to pressure reliably in Photoshop For 20 I expected perfection while I got big disappointment This app is a big failure     Non responsive stylus

I just used my iPad as a drawing tablet for my desktop That is freaken cool Working on figuring out all the ways to use it with photoshop and then I might just finally buy Mischief now that I can really use it Id been holding off until I could afford a decent drawing tablet                 Wow

I believe this is the most expensive app Ive ever bought and what a waste of money 20 for an app that slows down my brand new MacBook Air a lot and has so much lag that its impossible to use it as a photo editing tablet     Waste of money

It simply does not work To make things worse the Air Display software on my Mac completely tanks my computers memory forcing me to do a hard restart 3 times now I hope there is an update soon or Ive wasted 1999 on a defective product     BAD BAD BAD

UPDATE I bought this app right when it came out and it works great with the apps I use for my work Manga Studio Photoshop Pixelmator I use Air Stylus every day with my MacBook Pro iPad Air and Wacom stylus Im writing this update because its a solid little app that lets me work without having to add another tangle of gear and cables to my bag I do hope they hurry up and add support for the new pens from Adonit and Adobe Those look cool              Works as advertised Saves me money and adds space to my backpack

Just upgraded to 102 and have switched to using the Jot Touch with Pixelpoint Love It Air Stylus is perfect for photo editing Im able to draw directly on the image in Aperture and Photoshop Elements 12 It draws smooth and updates quickly Dodging and burning with a pressure sensitive pen is just fantastic Pairing with the Jot was a breeze too The zoom function makes it a little easier to work on the details of an image                 Great Photo Editing Tool

I just downloaded this paid my 20 bucks and I am severely disappointed I have a Jot Stylus but the performance when I have Air Stylus running with Air Display is unusable The technology just doesnt work I dont know what kind of Mac they are running in the video but laptops just dont seem to perform very well Dont buy this unless you have 20 bucks to just throw away I want my money back this was a waste     On Retina Mac Book Poor Performance

I feel ripped off bc they said it paired with the Wacom intous creative stylus but after speaking with Wacom support I found out that is not the case Total bummer and want a refund due to false advertising     Does not pair with Wacom stylus

love the idea of this app but it was a little hinky when it first came out nice and smooth since this update Still not sure how they make my iPad work with my computer based apps but Im glad these guys figured it out                 performance improvement

Even using a 2014 Macbook Pro with Retina display an Adonit Jot Touch 4 and a 4th generation iPad there is so much lag as to make the app unusable with drawing and painting apps I does not perform nearly as well as advertised If you need to make confident strokes in your art software you will find your 1999 wasted with a scarce chance of a refund     UNUSABLE on Retina Display
