Actions for iPad appears to have the potential to save time if the user is willing to adapt their muscle memory to tapping squares instead of key combinations The squares are userdefined so there is an upfront time investment Good idea                 Potential time saver

Not only useful but also one of those rare apps with a real quality feel that for me at least brings back those gasps we all made when we first got our iPads It just works No delay smooth operation looks after itself Its almost uncanny to switch between desktop programs and see a new UI silently appear on the tablet ready for use                 Smooth

Update Thanks for addressing the battery issues Best of all I can connect to my PC despite my secure network at work No more sitting in the parking lot of the local home improvement store to steal their internet and correct my students papers Update Dropbox added for easy backup thanks for resolving one of my concerns 100 goodness                 Can be amazing

This is one pointless app You have to be sitting right in front of your PC in order to use this app All it does is open up various folders on your PC from your iPad Big deal You can not otherwise interact from the app to the PC No mouse control you dont even see the screen of your PC so unless your sitting right in front of your computer you cant select move or interact in anyway with this app Again pointless I did give it two stars simply because it is a good concept but needs to be taken further Id rather use LogMeIn app instead        Pointless App

I like how well this app utilizes the intuitiveness of the touch interface to replace those otherwise clumsy and complicated keyboard commands something very common in graphics processing software It is however lacking support for tasks that normally would be performed better with a pointing device navigation highlighting items etc and being unable to input text from the iPad without relying on snippets is somewhat unnatural iTunes support isnt that useful either considering that Apple already provides the iTunes remote that is more capable and intuitive allowing me to actually navigate through my library and playlists Although I havent decided on whether to pay to use Flows or not I can see that it has the potential to become a touchoriented Automator if it gains more customizable actions as well as features for power users such as AppleScript and also better support on batch file processing This is just my first impression after trying the app for a few hours but I start to think that it might be a good idea for Apple to actually expand on this concept and make a similar iPad app combining the productivity of Automator with the intuitiveness of the iPad              Nice concept

its like keyboard maestro for macs lite version functions are a little bit less than its but its obvious that this is pretty cool app intuitive and beautiful flat ui easy to create macros much better with inapp purchased flows i love it                 pretty amazing

I can switch between controlling my PC Laptop and Mac Flows is the in app extension which is a MUST for being able to fully utilize the maximum potential of this application and make complex hotkeys be translated into the touch of a button Think about anything you type the same over and over and over With this app it turns those same everyday keystrokes into pressing a single button My iPad has been handy but now its essential for my work flow imagine if you will web coding in shortcut anchor button command a hre to the first then wait enter your data continue with wait enter data continue done Or photo editing auto levels auto contrast image size save for web push push push enter pixels push savedone                 OMG This is awesome

I use Actions everyday as an integral part of my desktop using an outdated iPad It has become part of the small group of essential tools I cant live without                 Fantastic

To all app designers You now have an app that will both inspire your next user interface and simplify the workflow while you design it I have purchased similar apps in an effort visually streamline my workflow within a variety of desktop design applications and this is certainly my favorite An excellent example of how to execute an otherwise boring productivity app by applying the simple and often ignored principle of form and function I immediately appreciated the seamless communication between my computer and my iPad as well I hope this app continues to evolve with a user community feature that offers the ability for users to search upload download rate and bookmark predeveloped categorized user actions Also is it possible to create a Bluetooth connectivity option when wifi is not available                 App designers take notice

This app is a great addition for anyone who uses a lot of software with shortcuts I use it a lot for AutoCAD and Photoshop This will save you a lot of time The app is very easy to use and it is able to understand the complex commands needed for AutoCAD Definitely worth the 399                 Great Addition

I find this to be a very useful app to let my iPad supplement my computer during the day However its a little frustrating to actually get all the actions that you want set up because there isnt an easy way to duplicate and then adjust specific actions Takes me quite a while to do it but once its there it does save me a bunch of time If the developers read this I would really like it to be able to have a action set that just has all of my active applications at that moment in a grid              Big fan of the app once you set it up

I use this every day at the studio in conjunction with After Effects and Cinema4d and love it My workmates all want it now Once we can share libraries this app will be complete Would love an option for an even smaller denser array of buttons as well as custom colors Not sure why so many complaints about getting it set up and working its not rocket science people and the instructions are pretty clear Also dont understand the mousetrackpad requests This app is meant to supplement your workstation which should well have SOME kind of input device other than the iPad Very odd requests                 Excellent app look forward to shared libraries

This clever app allows me to remote control my mp3 music player app Cog on my Mac The learning curve is amusing and productive I would enjoy reading other users advice in an ACTIONS Forum I would likely purchase the Flows addon if the authors provided a few sample scripts to consider                 Excellent tool for remote control of Mac apps

Good app would be better with Fn key and Numpad support for actions eg the only way you can apply shortcuts for Styles in InDesign is with the Numpad numbers           Need Fn Key and Numpad support

Like Keyboard Maestro but using an iPad to launch The Flows feature is what takes this app to a whole new level of productivity Mindblowing what I am able to get done with app It literally saves me hours of repeated actions all with a few taps Setting up complex and detailed workflows is an absolute breeze Nobrainer to get the IAP really worth every cent                 Amazing App will change everything

Ive wasted an hour trying to figure this out Very frustrating Connection was easy Using sample buttons was fine Frustrating interface Presets were for old products windows 7 powerpoint 2010 No PDF user manual on their web site tutorial insufficient Honestly it is far easier just to remember the shortcuts than hunting for buttons on your iPad        Good luck figuring out how this works

Ive been a nerd for nicelooking customizable control panels since before I knew the Optimus Maximus would be prohibitively expensive and a number of apps have attempted to be the one that would sate me But they were all missing at least one or two obvious features that  it turns out  Actions for iPad had all along If you go full manual Actions gives you a fresh empty panel of either 15 or 20 spaces for large colourful rectangular buttons Using what seems to be a lightweight server app that must be running on your computers Wifi network each button transmits a single command of your choice In addition to most conceivable keyboard shortcuts buttons can also transmit system commands text snippets and a couple of other interesting things Twofinger gestures on the entire screen also perform undo redo copy and paste by default Youll check out their site if youre interested enough to want to know more Here are the few great features that convinced me this app was the closest Ive found to my dream control panel app The most important one Actions knows which Mac app is in the foreground and can switch to a set designed for that app Futuristic and optional sounds provide a substitute demarcation for the feeling of a physical button A large library of label icons is immediately available for a broad range of functions Buttons can open drawers with more buttons å la iOS 6 Peoples special desires and expectations will vary greatly for an app thats about customization so its hard to anticipate what disappointments or downsides they might run into Here are a few possibilities So far there are only seven colours available for buttons Theyre nice colours but you know No dark green versus medium green or anything like that Though some users seem to have been requesting it for over a year there doesnt seem to be a way to map buttons to keypad numbers which can be critical for certain Mac apps  I havent found a way to import custom label icons If your iPad lives by your Mac Id say this app is a great value  very much better than buying some kind of external controller from the past I think they should have charged more  instead theyve offered an inapp purchase to upgrade the app with a workflow feature the ability to string several commands together activated with one button                 The closest app to my dream OS X control panel

I dont understand what this app does I deleted it and it keeps coming up in the apps     What is this

Although I can control my PC remotely with another app I was looking for a simple touchofabutton solution for use at home Actions certainly provides that Being able to use keyboard shortcuts makes it possible to do nearly everything after a little bit of setup For instance when I am streaming a movie over DLNA to my TV I want my PC to be on a power saving plan but sometimes forget to make the switch After creating a shortcut for it and assigning a hotkey now I just press a button and its all taken care of As for possible improvements Bluetooth support and maybe an iPhone version would be nice to have But other than that thanks for this amazing app and keep up the good work                 A Great Remote For PC

Ive had connection issues with my work computer after taking my iPad home and bringing it back the next morning but once it connects it is an amazing tool I primarily use it with After Effects and Premiere but combining it with Automator actions is amazing as well              A little buggy on connecting but super useful

This app is just great There was a little learning curve for me at first but once I got the hang of writing short macros for shortcut key commands it is amazing I had to purchase an add on called Flow at 99 cents but it was the best buck Ive spent in a while This is fun I have been using it with Pro Tools 11 on a Windows 7 PC and it has truly made my life easier Wifi wireless iPad control of my PCvery nice                 Great app time saver

This app creates one of the coolest device connectivities Ive ever seen                 LOVE IT

I love this app because it does one particular thing that is very important to me It starts up a program on my Mac in another room so that I can listen to music through my stereo system Then I found out it can open Mog to allow me to listen to online music as well I can see that this is the sort of deceptively simple app that you eventually find out is incredibly versatile and powerful No if they could just show me my Mac screen on my iPad I would be really happy                 Indispensable

You should install a mouse feature Like reserve a square space at the bottom of the screen that allows you to interact with your PC Whats the point of being able to control all this stuff if you still have to go to your computer to navigate through it           Awesome App BUT Make a remote mouse feature

I have been looking for app to control my iMac This app does that If I open an app on the iMac it opens the corresponding Actions on the iPad If I open an Action on the iPad it opens the correct one on the iMac I sync the app to Dropbox On the iMac I made copies of a file used to control some tutorial apps I then edited them on the iPad When I contacted support I got a quick response                 Great App

I like the functionality of this app but without a mousetrackpad control its essentially useless Youre available to navigate to foldersapps and such but without a trackpad function theres no point really Add a trackpad to this app and it should be a lot better than it is now           Good but needs updates

I downloaded this app to try it out But when I tried to use it I had no idea what to do This really needs a more explicit tutorial at ten beginning or something There is no info on what exactly should happen after an action is set I gave it my computers IP address and had no idea if it connected or not I would finitely not recommend it     Makes no sense at all

I am loving this app I had to give myself a lot of time to learn it and set it up but every minute Ive invested into learning it has been a minute Ive gotten back in productivity I love storing snippets for my canned email responses I also use it to edit audio on Adobe Audition I am a podcaster I host ADHD reWired This app is great                 Turning me into a productivity Ninja

Although the actions can take a little time to set up I get a real sense of satisfaction when I am able to turn a monotonous and laborious task into a single button Ultimately I would like to see more application specific preset lists but Im happy with what is currently available I basically fire up the app and go about my routine When I find myself repeating a task Ill stop and build an action right then and there Ive found this to be a simple method of populating sets Its a lot less overwhelming than going in and trying to create everything all at once Great job The interface is clean and quick and I feel awesome using it Well worth the flow upgrade                 This app makes me a better person

That completely changes your perspective around something you thought was so basic so simply familiar an Infinite Keyboard I could try to summarize this as but I would be understating its capabilities Groups Nesting Subsets I think the reason this app has struck me so deep is because it affects everything I do in computers sort of like the wheels in a car Visually esthetically programming its extensive functions I truly was not expecting such a polished First version of any app Im a keyboard shortcut freak but I have to say this is changing how I interact work everything on my computer Windows 7 just for compatibility Heads Up I have instantly become a fan of this App bit too much but its quite simple really I can only guess what the future has for this team of Devs                 This is one of those Apps

I love the idea of this app but I had to get rid of it because I just couldnt get it There were lots of instructions but I just couldnt keep them all straight Itd be nice if they walked you through what you can do in the app step by step actually showing you instead of just lots of text        Good idea just too confusing

This seems to be a useful app from the description and when randomly tapping on the first screen However the app does not respond to keystrokes when using VoiceOver Most elements on the screen have meaningful text labels but there are some with extraneous characters I was not able to access the video which I believe to be a tutorial           Was VoiceOver Compatibility even considered in the design of this app
