Tech Crunch review. "But recognizing handwritten text isn`t trivial, which is why a new app called 7notes focuses almost entirely on this problem and does the job really well." This is how you should take ...
This is a great app It took a little practice but now the app does a great job at recognizing my messy handwriting and converting it to text I will use this to takes notes on at work instead of scribbling on a note pad all day and then having to enter it into a computer I hope that the developer incorporates Drop Box or iCloud auto saving and syncing in the future then this app would be nearly perfect                 Great app
I am not much of a review writer but I am passionate about 7 Notes so I figured I would write a review After lots of research I tested and purchased Notability Penultimate WritePad 7Notes It came down to WritePad 7Notes as the ones that worked best for me WritePad writing recognition is OK but 7Notes is noticeably better 7Notes is simpler which is good because although WritePad is trying to constantly improve it has changed a lot since I purchased almost a year ago there are so many settings it can be challenging to find a comfortable place Both have an Evernote connection but while 7Notes sends a note to Evernote WritePad actually synchronizes which is awesome In the end 7Notes works better for me and I use it exclusively If the Developer would change from sending to Evernote to synchronizing with Evernote they would get 5 stars from me Last thing I use Evernote to store all my notes for work When I am at my desk I type with a keyboard When I am on the road I use 7Notes handwriting recognition on my iPad2 then send the notes to Evernote when I find wifi I have volunteered to be the Secretary for one organization where I am on the Board of Directors ONLY because with 7Notes I finish my minutes as soon as the meeting is over thats a very effective use of time This Works so well people are constantly asking me what I am doing I am very active in professional organizations so I see a lot of people I have probably sold 10 copies of 7Notes in the last month alone Developer PLEASE get it to synch to Evernote I will help sell more copies for you              Game Changing App
Im giving 4 stars simply because it would be nice to have an innote voice record feature I currently have to use two apps during lectures and it would be nice to have it combined As above there is a learning curve but once mastered its pretty easy Please consider adding recording feature in the note with a bookmark feature to locate recording main points Ill pay extra for this convenience              I like this app a lot
Complete waste of money I have clear handwriting and its useless in converting to text Produces gibberish Worst app ever     Terrible
Dont waste you money With Evernote link costs 15 dollars for a 99 cent product     Not ready for prime time
7notes for iPhone and HD for iPad are the best writing apps I have found so far and I have downloadedpaid for more than 10 writing apps Text recondition is good Writing notes without text recognition is faster Evernote modular works well and you can up load from both iPhone and iPad but expect to have to pay for each level of the app Eg Writing without text recognition is cheep and works well as I said but you have to pay extra for the text recognition Then with the iPad app extra for the Evernote modual              Best writing app I have found so far
The handwriting recognition is very weak It seldom gives options with only the first letter of a sentence capitalized Most words are not recognized so handwriting conversion to text is a slow and painful process     Handwriting recognition
Its rare that I take the time to write an app review but I absolutely love this app And I must say that Im very surprised by the slightly less than positive reviews The handwriting conversion capability is outstanding and I dont have the best penmanship and Ive found it to be an excellent compliment to Evernote I hope the developer will continue to refine and enhance 7notes with features from its other note taking product                 I love this app
I am not sure why so many of the comments are negative for this App Maybe its the cost This app has been one of the best apps ive experienced for writng in awhile I usually take notes with my pen and pad all of the time for journaling business at chirch for lists etc For a long time I have searched for an app that could help me use my stylus to type or write fast on my IPAD I have tested many different aps but this one is by far the best                 Great APP If Not The Best
I use this app all day everyday to take notes in sessions by handwriting and then copy and paste the text directly into online note template I find that it matters what stylus you use what kind of screen protector you have and you need to clean the screen with a good solution like screen doctor but it works great for my purpose                 Does what it says
For a week I did my best to put up with this apps obvious misunderstanding of how real people use handwriting If you really want to see how it SHOULD be done take a look at an app called MyScript Memo which by the way is free        Seriously overpriced underperformer
The handwriting recognition is handsdown the best n the market The organizational interface leaves a lot to be desired File cabinets is very nonintuitive Tagging lacks organization and is difficult to apply Editing a note that is already on Evernote is not possible that I can find Combining this app with Papers would be unbelievable The Papers interface with this handwriting recognitions would be an unbeatable tool           Interface needs work
It is not sensitive when picking up writing so I have to hard press in this app It doesnt pick up the first letter of a sentence You cant move the input box so your wrist has to hang off the iPad to write Painful after a while There is no easy way to contact support and when you go to the developers website from the provided link they are advertising a different note taking app do they know how bad this app is too It is clunky and I was hoping the paid version would be better I regret this lurchase     Little support painful to write Waste of money
This app does an excellent job of converting handwriting to text User interface is easy to use Wish List I would really like to be able to password protect individual documents              Captures handwriting beautifully
This app has a lot of potential Its handwriting recognition is excellenteven for lists and numbers which can be very hard for these programs to do well There are some nice features that allow for the layout and formatting of text and images However the user experience is a little clunky three steps to change simple font formatting no doubletap to select text handwriting input box is large and not movable on the screen Also although there are some basic windowdressing features eg format the color of a text box the options are few and not very stylish With some minor improvements this could be an a very good app With Dropbox interface it could be excellent Thanks for a good product Keep improvements coming           Good bones but
I was reluctant to purchase this app but I desperately needed an app that would convert my handwriting to text 7notes does it so nicely I had to write this review I use it to take notes in clinic and now I can actually READ them Thanks guys Keep up the good work                 This app is amazing
UPDATE November 26 The update has arrived and the app is working again I am so glad to be able to continue using this versatile app UPDATE November 14 I love this app but it does not work on iOS 8 It is a shame because it is a wonderful product I hope that the developers repair it This app is has a learning curve but it is worth the effort There are a lot of surprise features that end up being really helpful I own several handwritingrecognition apps and I think that the Mazec the one utilized in this app is the most successful I really have very little difficulty with handwriting recognition either with this app or with Note Anytime which also uses Mazec What is cool about this app is that notes can be added in little units on a single page Some of the units can be photos or web clips some can be handwritten items and some can be typed or recognized items The different units typed or handwriting that has been converted can also be formatted by font size style bold etc and alignment A different color for font background and border can also be chosen for each unit One can then email the units or copy them into other apps More sophisticated forms of export are also available but they apply to whole notes rather than the units I use the units for todos or notes on the fly When I am out and about and want to enter data into my iPad it is cumbersome to use either a virtual keyboard or an external one Of course one can use a regular handwriting app for such notes but then one has to type the note later if one wants to incorporate it into another app such as Calendar Contacts or Reminders Another way of using this app is to enter all your notes for a single day on a single page each note in its own unit You then have a grid containing everything you have done written thought about or jotted down on that one day Then you can decide what you want to keep and what you want to discard and you enter what you want to keep into any other app that you want With this app you can write a note into one of the little units and then convert it into text later You can then copy the entire unite and paste it into your calendar as an event or into your contacts or reminders This is really helpful and is big time saver There are still some parts of this app that I have not yet figured out The system for organizing files involves both tags and cabinets which operate somewhat differently than folders do I have still not found a way to utilize the cabinets feature to full advantage but I have found one aspect to it that I like a lot the same file can appear in more than one cabinet which is more or less like having the same file in two different folders By making a change in a single file that change shows in all the appearances of the file in all the cabinets I would like to give the creators of this app a lot of credit It is quite ingenious and after one goes through the learning experience easy to use                 Very fine work
Of all the handwriting recognition apps I have bought this is by far the best It would be perfect if one could drag and drop documents inout of iTunes and not just rely upon emailing pdfs or synching with Evernote at additional cost Please enable full iTunes functionality Thanks              Excellent handwriting recognition difficult document syncexport
I Use this app to take notes in meetings where having laptop open would be inappropriate The app does an amazingly good job of OCRing my scribbles into text I purchased the EverNote connector as well so now when I am done with my note taking in 7notes with just a couple of taps I can shoot them over to my Evernote notebooks                 Great tool for inputting handwriting to text to EverNote
I bought this to take notes in meetings The character recognition is so bad I cant imagine ever using this I cant even input a simple sentence Its hard to review a product if you cant get out of the gate with it it does let me write nicely on my iPad but wont interpret anything even close to what I wrote And my handwriting is good The one utube video I viewed doesnt give me much hope either     Cant imagine Ill ever use this
Read the tutorials tried to make sense of the web sites practiced practiced practiced looked at eventually changed settings screwed around for several days even signed up for some useless get satisfaction account like there was gold to be had with one its protected so well and concluded this is JUNK There is no way to Note anything as text other than what I am doing now hopping over the keyboard For me I forgot what I wanted to Note before I could ever figure out how to do it with this thing so I deleted it and went back to plain handwriting or text with other apps The technology isnt there yet for this kind of thing Dont waste your money Hell I coulda had a double Jack for that     Useless dont waste ur s
It needs a tab key or something so you can make indented notes or even better would be a system of bullets similar to the notes and even transportable to that of word                 Great but
This app is pretty great I needed something to take my hand writing to text and this one definitely does it well Im pleased              Awesome
After playing around with the free version I REALLY wanted the convert to text function so that I would have easier to read notes to sync to EVERNOTE and then post to our server at work The FREE app lets you send text notes ie notes using the keyboard as well as handwritten notes to Evernote The PAID version purposely omits the TEXT sync to Evernote and requires a 699 fee to enable the functionality EDIT The Evernote functionality still exists but it is buried under another layer titled Send To Application Why there is a separate Send to Evernote button that is disabledI do not know Pretty sneaky way to get users to fork over more money Regarding the handwriting to text conversion if you are in a technical field and are trying to write things like equations or technical documentations or abbreviations this is nothing but frustrating I wish I hadnt bought itPOOFwaste of money        Not too easy for technical writing Sneaky Evernote Functionality
Ive tried a bunch of note taking tools and this is the best at handwriting recognition in my experience I used it solidly to take notes at a technical conference and for the first time I wasnt distracted by having to correct the guesses The recognition was very accurate and for the times when it got it wrong giving the list of alternative suggestions was very helpful I think I have finally found the note taking tool Ive been wanting for a long time The only drawback is that I cant organize notes Maybe I can do this somehow through cabinets but I cant find any info about it on help or by playing around Adding this feature would make the app phenomenal                 Great handwriting recognition
recognition works well I like the option to convert as you write or after but wish for moveable zoom box palm pad              Good
I purchased this app because the apps features shows notes linked to reminders If the feature is there its impossible to figure out The help video on the developers site shows the feature but the reminder tool magically appears without explanation Also the logic used for folders or cabinets as the app calls them is not intuitive It takes true thinking out of the box to realize cabinets are really a saved set of tag filters Very confusing        Okay handwriting recognition but
The handwriting recognition is excellent 4 stars because DropboxEvernote integration could be a lot better              Excellent recognition
I really like the base app but between the base cost of the app and the extra needed to get the Evernote integration which was my reason for buying the app the cost is a bit on the steep side for what you get Also there is a bug where the text sent from 7notes to Evernote wont wordwrap Thats pretty annoying              Like app little expensive
I am going to ask for my money back It says you can send it to your Dropbox but the option to do that is not there and what is EVERNOTE at 799 WOW what a lie     DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIES
I purchased the handwriting app so I could conveniently take notes with fluent handwriting without having to concentrate on the screen The small area where you hand write can only fit a few words at a time and its like writing on a credit card device This app would be better if the whole screen could be used to handwrite a few lines at a time and intuitively page forward for you     Needs Improvment
The handwriting recognition on this app is great However really cant find a use for the rudimentary graphics and web unit support The only thing keeping me from rating this 5 stars is the lack of a reasonable downloadable pdf user manual There are quick start guides and tips and a very cursory Help buried in the Settings but no comphrensive user guide              7Note HD Premium
If you like writing essays poetry whatever by hand like myself than this is the only application on the App Store which you can do that with Ive tried all the others notes plus etc and they all either do not have accurate enough translation from handwritten to text or they format the words in a completely unusable fashion 7note is the one and only real option It works well                 The best handwritten to text
Terrible Tutorial is very poor and hard to figure out Conversion to text doesnt work Can I get a refund     Terrible
Ive not found a note taking app that can recognize and convert my sloppy scrawl into text better than 7Notes                 best one yet
Handwriting to text is great but the user interface needs much improvement                 Great handwriting recognition Poor UI
Stuck inside the app Would be great to use it with text expander Not so sure it is fast enough to take notes in tension situations              Good handwriting recog
An absolutely outstanding product but with horrible support The companys support page lists a phone number thats bogus The Evernote Enhancement is amazing but stopped working today too bad           What a Mess
The UI is very clunky but the one thing I cant stand is that you cant move the zoom boxpalm rest higher up on the screen So if you are writing notes there is no way to rest your palm on the screen instead you have to have your hand dangling off the bottom of the iPad Its very awkward for long writing sessions Also the realtime handwriting isnt as smooth as you would think Its constantly misconverting and then you have to go back and undo your handwriting or correct it Yes my handwriting isnt the best but Notes Plus with the handwriting recognition add on its about as expensive as this one gets it about 98 right It doesnt convert it onthefly but its extremely accurate and has better ink realism and a much better UI presentation This was a waste of money        Not that good
I just started using this app to capture my daily notes I use it to capture handwritten notes throughout the day I then save the text to another app for storage Ive previously tried many apps to come up with a way to eliminate my paper notebook 7notes characterrecognition application will make it possible                 Outstanding Handwriting Recognition
This was a great app until iOS 8 Now the handwriting recognition does not function the app flickers on and off Its useless now     Update it or take it down
After finally getting over the learning curve and figuring out all the features this app has I have to say Im impressed It does a good job of understanding my handwriting and its quick What would put it over the top is to be able to import handwritten correspondence from outside and convert that Why Because I have penciled handwritten notes in a physical notepad that I would like to convert to readable digital print              What an app
This app is fantastic I use it in daily meetings and have my notes finished and sent before I leave the room It took very little time to set it up for my preferences and I find the recognition very accurate to my style of writing I really like the conversion of writing to text and like not having to use a wrist rest like Notability A couple of features that I would like to see is the ability to highlight wordssentences and underlinebold features It takes a while to understand the filing system as it is not as intuitive as Notability but once you understand it it works I have been unable to build the dictionary with shortcuts as it does not seem to recognize anything I put in As people at work have seen me use this app they are downloading it to use as well Please keep improving on this you have an avid customer              7NotesHD Pro
App worked great than today it will not sync with Evernote it locks up when I try to login Was a great app now it just wont work     Just stopped working with Evernote
Give me palm rejection and this would be a five star app Without it its useless garbage So far its a waste of money Thank you for refusing to add it I really like throwing my money away     Palm rejection
This is honestly one of the best apps Ive ever purchased It was worth the nine dollars and possibly its the best nine dollars Ive ever spent My handwriting is awful and the fact that this app can recognize it and translate it to text with very very few errors is remarkable This is going to change the way I take notes forever I would recommend it to anyone This app alone makes the iPad worth the large sum of money that it is                 The app that changed my life
LOVE this app but I wish I could draw freely on the page instead of just in the edit box Add that and this will be a five star app              Great app but
I downloaded iOS 802 now it crashes when I open it           Worked well until
Ive used this application for almost two years and was very happy with it However with iOS 8 it lost most of its accuracy and ease of use It needs an update badly Id wait until the release before investing in it        Used to be very good
I am very unhappy with the program and wish I hadnt wasted money on it Wish there was a way for a refund if after less than an hour of use it wouldnt work for me and I reverted back to note that came with iPad Only rated because I had to     Unhappy
