Benjamin – a Franklin style task manager

If The Franklin Covey method of keeping track of prioritizing and completing your tasks works for you then you should love this app This app is easy to use yet remarkably powerful Ive been looking for an app that does what this does for years and I sure am happy I found this This app is even better than what FC offers for their own system They could certainly learn a thing or two about functionality and usability from this app Ive researched many many to do list apps and created kludgey ways to make a number if them work with the FC system but have always been frustrated because the work arounds caused more work This app makes following FC a breeze and amazingly it is actually more effective than pencil and paper which is actually a difficult thing to beat Thanks                 Great App

I have been looking for this for sometime This rivals the paper version I have only had it a day so lots to explore and discover So far I like it Already thinking ahead to the archival function that will have to be built into this so this app doesnt hog up the phone memory as it is used more Also wonder what it would be like if this app could be set to open automatically upon opening the device to the to do list or calendar and to do list              Finally

This app is nothing short of superb Changes and improvements in the most recent version particularly the calendar interface and even faster speed make Benjamin one of the finest taskmanagingplanning apps on the market No need to look further Franklin Covey users there now is NO reason to hold on to your planner                 Fabulous app

Ive reduced my review from 4 stars to 1 star for 1 big reason Even though there are 2 things they should fix the 1 complaint listed below which should be a simple fix is still being ignored Its infuriating and Im ready to pull the system out of my apps and all my staff The fix this Ill reevaluate my score The amount of time it wastes for me has pushed me over the limit Here are my 2 big complaints and if they fix this it goes to 5 stars and gets featured in a video blog 1 The syncing from phone to IPad is terrible As a result if I have a repeating task like Planning Solitude and I mark it off on my iPad and it doesnt sync then the next day I have 2 or 3 of the same tasks I have to go in Delete the task recreate it and set it to repeat Total pain in the butt 2 I cant delegate to other mobile devices It should have an option where I can specify what other accounts I can delegate to do u can use the delegate function with my employees You can email tasks but thats lame I want it in my employees list immediately     Almost perfect Please fix

I was a paper Franklin Covey planner user for years When I migrated to a digital calendar I had no good substitute for the task list I looked through the store again and found this one It had great reviews and it sounded like it was what I was looking for It was I now have tasks ranked and scheduled and a master task list It shows what Ive moved to a new day so I can see which tasks keep getting pushed off and reevaluate them Well worth the money                 Finally A substitute for my Franklin Planner

Benjamin is an excellent task manager for anyone whos used the FranklinCovey method in the past Im deducting 1 star because there is no option to start the week on Monday which is basic functionality for any app with a calendar in 2014 Annoying I do wish theyd fix this Ive been requesting the feature for over a year now              A good app which I use daily

I am using this app on my iPhone and syncing with my iPad for backup I have been using a prioritizing system like this with a paper planner for nearly 30 years and this app is a great adaptation to mobile It is stable and reliable and the developer regularly adds thoughtful features                 Great implementation of ABC 123 system

I used to have a Franklin paper planner and this is pretty much the same What would be great is if the app was available on the computer too and could sink with the phone app                 Great To Keep Organized

Should use system font WAY too larger and too much white space Settings should allow you to display what you would like Which calendar Tasks above calendar on day view 1 line or multi line display of task Default start page You should be able to create a new project from a task not have to leave the task to create the project Priority should be on the left of the task Notes comments for task should be easily accessible Ability to forward a task to another day from the TASK LIST page not having to go into each one individually           Still needs work

Using the Benjamin App one of the best thing thats ever happened to me I no longer have to carry around a big booklet Everything I do is simply handled by my phone Wow                 Review of Benjamin App

I really like the digital version of this planner Its simple and easy to use And I love the fact that I can synchronize between my iPhone and iPad and easily edit items in my calendar or day Im also very happy to discover that going paperless with my day planner has actually helped me to be more productive than I was before Sometimes it has a minor glitch or two and if I could change some things it would be this 1 add a category for roles and goals this concept is really the backbone of the Benjamin system that many of us know 2 add a section for NOTES andor a JOURNAL that are not necessarily attached ie buried with a calendar item or a daily task 3 dont automatically add project tasks to the master task list but offer the option 4 add some options for shopping lists expense tracking auto mileage exercise log etc some of the popular addons we had with our paper system 5 maybe add a possible way to back up or archive the calendar somehow Thats all for now Thank you for this amazing app              Almost Perfect

I was looking for an electronic means of using the A1 priority system and this app does an excellent job It took me a couple days to work out the best process to quickly enter and manage tasks but a few weeks in Im up and running smoothly              Solid useful

I love this app It does everything I need it to do using the FC system It prioritizes repeats ongoing tasks like exercise every week on M W F and I can cancel an ongoing task and it still shows up in the next week ready to be checked off again I love the new interface with everything on one screenTodays tasks project tasks and calendar for looking back or adding tasks in the future Some have said they would like it to sync with iCal I have no such need as I find that to be too busy on one page plus I really like the calendar app that I use instead of iCal CalendarSkin much more vivid colors so I can see things at a glance more easily Keep up the great work with this app I finally for the first time in years am not periodically cruising the app store for something that WORKS with the FC system Thanks              REALLY good

If you enjoy using the traditional planner You will love this one Wish it had some more features like the goal planning              Great choice

I did the FranklinCovey thing years ago and eventually stopped because the notebooks are bulky Im pleased to have found this app              Almost there

I think it is pricey for what it does Additionally I was asked to subscribe 199mo just to be able to sync sync what The calendar does not have capability for reminders The tasks lists stay visible even after completion So one ends up having TMI to scroll through The project file does not list the tasks completed or dates of completion I would be nice to have an outline viewtree capability I am using it because I spent what I see as a lot of change for an app Ill give it 1 more week before I go back to paper           It is okay

Basically it Would be nice unfit would sync with my Mac as well Have some issues with recurring tasks But oh well              Above average

Ive used paper Day Timer and such planners since high school in the 1940s As a contemporary of the guy this program is named for almost I can attest that it is just what I needed I am rejuvenated                 Perfect for the OCD

This is a great tool for onetime and recurring tasks Eliminates the need for floating pieces of paper reminding me what to do when Need just a little more flexibility in daydates for recurring tasks that are out of the norm              Love this app

Im used to the franklin system so this is the best to do list for me It would be nice if the data were backed up though Id hate losing it              It works for me

Benjamin is probably the best planner for the iPhone I have used A few more updates would make it outstanding I cant plan a task forward in the same menu as the Completed in progress delegated etc It would be nice to have a fwd arrow and then place it on a date in the future I would want that task to stay viewable on that day and then show again on the day in the future I planned the task Instead of Edit and then rearranging the 1 2 3 priority I would like to be able to click and drag the task It would be nice to select an option for which view opens first I always click calendar and then todays date because I like seeing the calendar events notes and tasks This should be an option for the default Thanks for the great app              Pretty good a few more options still needed

This is the best app one can find for managing and prioritizing tasks and projects It is beautifully designed and amazingly easy to use It allows one to prioritize and rearrange as needed for short and long term tasks It is fantastic like having a great personal assistant Enjoy                 The best organizingtask manager app

I am grateful for Benjamin I tried OmniFocus and found it too detailed and fiddly for my needs Benjamin makes for a nice transition from using a Day Timer with Charles Hobbs Time Power System back in the day Thank you for an excellent tool for my tool box              Im grateful for this app

The app follows the principal used in the Daytimers and Franklin Covey paper planners of the past It is a great tool to help prioritize your tasks                 Great App

The only system that keeps me organized is Franklin I gave up my paper Franklin Planner when I got my iPhone in 2007 but now have the best of both worlds I have tried almost every other iPhone planner app without success Thanks a million for giving me back the best ever planner Also love the recent update that lets me sync my Franklin between my iPhone and iPad                 Love this Franklin Planner App

I use this task list to track all of my tasks business and personal Its good but could be better Need to make re prioritizing easier The only way you can re prioritize is to click on a task in the edit mode and drag in to the position you want it You should be able to just change the priority number and have it reorganize the list Please improve it could be a great task list program        Could be better

Great functionality and format but would love to see two additions 1 A way to view all tasks current and planned all on the same screen 2 A view that syncs with iCal so that tasks and events can be seen on the same screen                 Really like this app

I am really enjoying this app It costs a little more than most but Im not having to run to my planner every time I think of something              Planning made convenient fun

Its just like the Franklin system which is great I would love if you could add tasks to a task and if you could add projects to your project              Suggestions

The price is right Use is simple It took me a few moments to figure out how to change the order of tasks within priority ABC but the online forum QA by the App developer answers that very quickly In short you pick only priority A B or C when you create the task and you only rank 110 for todays task That ranking is simply done by hitting edit and dragging tasks into the order you want grab the three horizontal lines symbol on the far right For future days tasks are just shown alphabetically I also like that tasks roll over to today automatically if you didnt get them done yesterday My previous app pocket informant required many keystrokes to move forward One other nuisance use planning tab to view past AND future tasks via the calendar and bottom preview Great App I am very pleased with the simplicity and utility of Ben                 Simple and very effective I like it

Review good app for managing tasks and reminders relieves the drudgery of maintaining a manual day planner by eliminating having to carry forward uncompleted tasks or copy repeating tasksthis maintenance is done automatically by the app multiple options for repeating tasks by day week month year can have seemingly unlimited number of tasks can add comments to tasks allowing you to have brief task descriptions with details in the comments also comments allow you to document status and other related matters categorizes tasks by priority A B and C Suggestions have separate section at top for appointments ordered by time of day because of their timesensitive nature appointments should not be buried among other tasks and thereby be susceptible to being overlooked currently I add all appointments as Priority A and manually move them to the top in order by time of day it just would be easier to have a separate section for appointments allow backdating of completed tasks when you forget to check completed tasks each day at times its useful when reviewing past tasks to know when you actually completed certain timecritical tasks not the date you checked it off currently I have to note this in the comments within each priority category the default should be to place tasks in alphanumeric order which will make it easier to find tasks later currently I have to scroll up and down the list to find previously entered tasks many of which are repeating tasks currently when a task in the Master Task list is scheduled the task is removed from the Master Task list it would be helpful to have an option to merely copy the task to the scheduled date but still keep it in the Master Task list for future use this would save having to reenter intermittent variable repeating tasks that dont have a regular repeating cycle              Benjamin

I use it every day I would like to be able to split Todays Task into Todays WorkTask and Todays Home Tasks Also would be nice to put in future appointments and be able to set the Start of Day time              Good Start
